Bristol Motor Speedway
The final race of round one of the Cup Series playoffs will take place at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Bristol night race is one of the most anticipated races of the season and for good reason. Lots of beating and banging. Wrecks and Carnage. Multiple leaders and close side by side racing. It has it all. With lap times under 15 seconds, things happen incredibly quick. This often leads to many mistakes and accidents which can result in a lot of shakeups when it comes to running order and finishing positions. We do tend to see long green flag runs at times in the middle of the race which can lead to tons of cars getting lapped, and one driver really racking up the laps led. Over the last few years, the top lane had dominated this track however, in the last two races here the bottom lane was the place to be. Considering they are putting down the same amount of PJ1 traction compound for this race, I expect the bottom to be dominant again.

DraftKings
We are all about the dominators this week due to the race being 500 laps long. You will want to play a minimum of 3 potential dominators but work hard to get a 4th in your lineup. This race is often split between 3 drivers in terms of laps led. Because of the bottom being so important and the cars struggling a bit handling wise with the 2020 rules package, we saw a high number of cautions last time here. I expect us to see that trend continue which means we should have quite a few great place differential options to round out lineups. An example of this is Timmy Hill who started 38th and finished 19th last race. Obviously, you need carnage for a play like this to work but I feel more comfortable planning for a bunch of DNFs than I do expecting a tame race.
Favorite DK Play: Ryan Blaney
Blaney has led the 3rd most laps here since 2017. He led 60 laps here in the spring before he wrecked throwing away a potentially race-winning car. He only cost $8800 so he is incredibly affordable and before his crash last race he had finished top 10 in 3 straight. I believe he can contend for the win this week but even if he doesn’t he is a solid play at this price with a simple top 10 and some fast laps.
FanDuel
On FanDuel we are going to look to play at least two dominators but if we can get a third potential dominator or driver who can finish top 5 we will obviously want to take them. Things may get a little tricky in the value/punt play area though. Where as Timmy Hill finishing 19th on DK is optimal worthy, that type of score on FD might not be enough. We will instead look for the Bubba Wallace, John Hunter Nemechek types who can finish higher but also carry a large chunk of place diff points.
Favorite FD Play: Chase Elliott
Chase dominated the All-Star race here and was also probably the best car in the June race here as well. He seems to really have this track figured out and I anticipate him contending for the win this week.
