PITCHERS

We’ve got another ugly pitching slate, as two of the historically better pitchers on this slate take on the #1 and #2 overall offenses in the KBO as NC and Doosan face off again, so tough to recommend either of them, and neither have been sharp either.

Aaron Brooks ($8,500/$28) – Brooks has been an absolute stud so far in the KBO, and he’s been sharp the last few starts as well. He crushed in his last start against Lotte, allowing only 1 hit over 7 innings while K’ing 6, and that was before Lotte cooled off. I don’t see Kiwoom having a ton of success here, as Brooks does a great job of keeping the ball in the park and that’s really the only way that Kiwoom scores runs. I like his price and upside on both sites here. Brooks is going to be an ALL format type play for me tonight, he’s just been so consistent and doesn’t have blowup games, which is what you need on bad pitching slates like this.

Chan-Gyu Lim ($8,200/$26) – Lim gave us a ceiling game last time out, as he shutdown Hanwha, going 6 innings, and K’ing 8 while allowing only one earned run. He’s more on here for his K upside, as he is one of the few pitchers in the KBO that averages over 9K/9IP (9.4K/9). SK is also the second worst offense in the KBO, as they have a team ISO of under .100 along with Hanwha. Lim is going to be a CASH type play here tonight, as he provides a decently safe floor with his K upside and the matchup and price are both juicy.

Odrisamer Despaigne ($8,100/$26) – He’s another GPP special here on the night, as Despaigne has had his good and bad stretches through this KBO season. He’s either really good or really bad, and lately he’s been really bad. However, the matchup here is as good as it gets for him to succeed here. Hanwha has a team wOBA of under .300 and a team ISO of under .100 and they’re the worst offense in the league. If he can’t succeed in this spot here tonight it may be time for him to hang them up. Despaigne is going to be a GPP only play here tonight as the price and matchup are a dream, but his recent track record show cause for concern.

Chris Flexen ($8,400/$26) – The matchup is pretty scary here for Flexen, but he’s already shown that he has the stuff to shut down this NC team earlier this year. In what may have been his best start of the year, he went 8 innings, allowing only 4 hits and 1 ER (on a HR) while K’ing 10 Dinos. The Dinos have been scuffling a bit at the plate the past week as well, so this may be an opportunity to pick on them. The upside is there for sure here tonight, but there is significant risk as well as NC is still the #1 overall offense in the KBO. Flexen is going to be a higher end GPP play here for me tonight, as the upside is there, but there is some blow up potential as well going up against NC.

Hitting STACKS

Here are several of my favorite hitting teams for tomorrow. For the purposes of this article, our hitter focus will revolve around teams to stack. You can also see a detailed look at individual hitters by gandering over to at our KBO Cheat sheets! The cheat sheets have core plays highlighted in blue as well as other cash and tournament options.

Tonight’s Cheatsheets are coming alive!  You have time to jump in, save hours of tedious research, and apply our help for the overnight slate.  You unlock core plays to build around, key pieces to stacks, great 4 and 5 star one-offs, and detailed coaching notes providing the why behind the play.

DOOSAN (vs Drew Rucinski) – I like Doosan more than most people here tonight, as Rucinski hasn’t been as sharp over his last 3 starts, allowing 8 ERs over those same 3 starts and the strikeout numbers are a bit down as well. I think with how well Doosan is hitting right now they can get to him here and rely on Flexen.

LG (vs Joo-Han Kim) – LG has a great spot here tonight, as they get to face off against Kim and this terrible SK team. Kim has an ERA north of 10 on the year, and LG has been way too quiet lately, especially Ramos. I expect Ramos to get going, especially in this matchup here tonight and the whole LG team is in a great spot.

SAMSUNG (vs. Se-Woong Park) – Samsung making the stack list again here tonight, as Park has an ERA north of 6, and Samsung has also already lit him up once this year, as he gave up 4 ERs and didn’t make it out of the 4th inning. Samsung has been hot recently over these past few games as well and make for an underrated stack tonight.

KT (vs. Chad Bell) – KT may actually be my favorite stack here tonight, as Bell has been horrible so far this year, as he’s flirting with an ERA just under 8 and he’s been getting lit up every time he steps out on that mound. KT’s offense is very dangerous as well, with Kang healthy and Rojas now running away with the HR lead. Love this spot for them as well as I expect them to be in Hanwha’s bullpen early.
