This week the Xfinity Series is at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Start time is 5 pm ET. The race is 150 laps with stage breaks at laps 35 and 70. We see 4 non stage related cautions almost every year here. The racing surface is extremely wide which always for multiple grooves especially later in green flag runs. The track surface is older and does wear out tires causing fall off. The drivers who can maintain long run speed will be in great shape.

Dominator:

We will look to play 1 dominator this week. There has been 1 driver who led 90+ laps in 6 of the last 7 races here.

Kyle Busch – As the only elite Cup Driver in the field he is the clear favorite. He has also won 6 of the last 11 starts here with a combined laps led total of 731. Without stiff competition from the likes of Larson, Logano, Keselowski this would appear to be an easy win for Busch.

Top Tier:

Allgaier, Custer, Reddick, Bell – All 4 are quick and offer the potential to win and score huge if something were to happen to Busch. I don’t have any real preference here but if you are going to fade Busch mixing in these 4 in many different combos would be the way to go.

Mid Tier:

Garrett Smithley – Runs roughly 18th-22nd starting behind a few guys he should be expected to beat. Overs some position upside as well as a solid finishing position possibility.

Michael Annett – Qualified 16th should move up a few spots. Has top 10 upside. Could very easily score 40+ points today.

Ryan Seig – starts 14th. Was 12th and 11th in both practices. Has an average finish of 7.75 through 4 races this season. Another top 10 is certainly a possibility here.

Low Tier:

Vinnie Miller – at $6100 and starting 34th it makes Miller an obvious play. He usually hangs around and gains 5-8 spots scoring 25-30 points. Should see him paired a lot with Busch today.

Chad Finchum – I consider him more of a low tier play but he certainly can be labeled a punt 26th, 21st, 19th the last 3 races. At $5300 that makes him an easy play this week. I expect his price to correct itself soon but until it does play him.

Punt:

Most These drivers are going to start and park and shouldn’t be played. Caesat Barcarella would be the only driver I would consider in this group. I don’t have high hopes for him but they get easily break 20 points at an incredibly cheap price. Obvious play when using Kyle Busch
