Good morning/afternoon to you beautiful people out there in DFS land! You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army. I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2018-2019 CBB season! Remember, if I mention a player as a cash game play they most likely are OK for GPP play. Let’s take a look at what games are on the slate for DraftKings and Fanduel. The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.
NC Central (65) vs North Dakota St (70)
Harvard (71) vs Georgetown (77)
Wichita St (64) vs Furman (71) – DK Only
Toledo (68) vs Xavier (70)
Butler (66) vs Nebraska (73)
St Johns (75) vs Arizona St (77)

NC CENTRAL vs NORTH DAKOTA ST
NC Central has a couple of strengths that line up with North Dakota St weaknesses. The Eagles should be able to attack the rim with 2’s and rebounds in this spot. I really like the Forward combination of Davis and Douglas. I prefer Douglas due to being cheaper and offering very similar upside. Blount offers us a really high fantasy point per minute possibility but I just can’t trust the minutes. I would rather go with Miller Jr. Perkins could be used as a dart play but his upside isn’t all that attractive.
While NC Central has a way to attack the NDSU weaknesses, it would seem that NDSU’s strengths do not align with the best ways to attack NCC. NDSU runs a very deliberate offense which allows them to work for the shot that they want. The two guys that have the usage in the area to attack NCC (from two) are Ward and Geu. While Geu is really only a deep GPP play (he has been non-existent recently), I really think a guy like Ward could be a difference maker tonight. Shahid and Kreuser are definitely GPP worth options. Griesel is somebody I may end up on because of his price tag.
Preferred Plays: Douglas, Ward
HARVARD vs GEORGETOWN
Harvard has one of my top plays on the slate as Aiken has a ridiculously high usage rate and is capable of attacking the Georgetown defense. Lewis is in play on FD but I just don’t like his DK price. Kirkwood has serious GPP upside at his price point and could be somewhat sneaky in this spot for Harvard. Djuricic is an interesting GPP option and Catchings is going to end up one of my favorite punt plays for GPPs.
I can see Georgetown putting up a ton of 3’s in this spot as their strength lines up with the best way to attack Harvard. While Georgetown has the highest team total projection on the slate, I have a hard time finding much to love at their prices. Govan and LeBlanc have definitely shown us GPP winning upside throughout the season and certainly make sense. I just can’t get a good feel for them at this point in the season. I will have exposure to Akinjo and McClung in this one. We know that McClung can get extremely hot from the field and this could be one of those spots.
Preferred Plays: Aiken, Catchings, McClung
WICHITA ST vs FURMAN – DK Only
This is probably a game that I am going to bypass for the most part. We have been using Dennis and Burton recently and while I will probably end up with a handful of shares, I won’t be actively trying to plug them in. McDuffie recently went off against Temple and seeing that game reminds me that he offers us upside. The problem is that, aside from that Temple game, his ceiling has basically been 4x for a while.
Furman has a definite advantage in this spot as their 3-point shooting should be where we look. The guys that I will look to have some shares of are Lyons, Hunter, and Brown. Lyons is going to fire away from 3 and that intrigues me a ton in this spot. Hunter seems pretty safe and might be closer to a cash game play. Brown is a guy that I think a dart share or two makes a ton of sense for. Rafferty is certainly a stud and has the upside but I just don’t think we need to go there.
Preferred Plays: Burton, Lyons, Hunter
TOLEDO vs XAVIER
Toledo is going to be without the Jacksons, Marreon and Willie, in this game. Xavier allows a ton of 3’s to be attempted and that fits the plan of Toledo on the offensive end. I expect guys like Sanford, Knapke, and Navigato to increase their usage slightly and all three guys make solid options in all formats. The biggest bumps are going to Darrington and Littleson in this spot and both better be very popular.
Xavier should have a clear advantage down low and on the boards in this spot. Hankins is a guy that immediately jumped off of the page for me and I will have a ton of exposure to him. I have interest in using Marshall, Scruggs, and T.Jones as GPP plays in a spot where their upside could be through the roof. The problem is that all of them are capable of disappearing completely, especially if Goodin decides he wants to take all the shots.
Preferred Plays: Darrington, Littleson, Hankins
BUTLER vs NEBRASKA
Butler is a team that I will continue to avoid using. It is unfortunate because I do think there are a couple of ways to attack Nebraska. If you feel like you absolutely have to use somebody from Butler, look at Jorgensen for his 3-point shooting in this match-up.
Nebraska is a team that we have to consider due to the injuries that they are dealing with. Palmer, Watson, and Roby are taking a ton of shots and offer us pretty solid floors to go with excellent ceilings. They have a couple of value plays in Trueblood and Thorbjarnarson but we might not have to look their way with the Toledo value.
Preferred Plays: Roby, Watson
ST JOHNS vs ARIZONA ST
To me, this looks like a great spot for Ponds and Heron. These two can score from all over the court and manage to get to the FT line quite a bit. Figueroa should be in consideration but I wonder what his upside is at his price point. Clark II worries me from a foul trouble perspective and Simon just doesn’t shoot the ball well enough for me.
Cheatham strikes me as the perfect cash game play on this slate as he seems like a lock for 30+ in this spot. Martin could be the GPP winning hammer of the late game so I want to make sure I get exposure to him where possible. I am probably off of Dort tonight as I would assume he finds himself facing off with Simon’s defense. Edwards, Lawrence, and White all make sense as GPP plays in the $4-5K range on DK.
Preferred Plays: Ponds, Heron, Cheatham, Martin
