Kickin’ it on the Pitch w/ TreyJ – Gameweek 14 EPL DFS for Draftkings & Fanduel

Gameweek 14 is upon us. It’s a new week for EPL DFS and we need to keep driving forward. It’s all about trying to be better. You should always review what works for you and what hasn’t. Does your process consistently get you to where you need to be? If not, find those holes and fix them. Is your process sound but you find that you don’t put it all together correctly? Maybe you need to just give yourself a little more time or perhaps you just need a sounding board to condense your thought process a little. Whatever the issues may be, find them and fix them. I say this now because there is no time like the present. Including this slate, we have 4 gameweeks of the EPL season and a Champions league slate over the next 2 weeks. Hone your research skills. If you don’t know how come to us.

Crystal Palace v Burnley

Crystal Palace returns back home after a huge moral victory last week. They went into Old Trafford and managed to pull a point away for their effort. It was the first time in their history they have done so. That should make them feel good; but, on the flip side, they still have their struggles at home. The good news for them is Burnley and their generosity are coming to town. I wonder about their mindset. Either way, I don’t expect much in the way of goals. I will likely pass on attacking options in this one.

Huddersfield v Brighton

Brighton strolls into town to meet Huddersfield and their 3-game unbeaten streak. The thing about Brighton is they play very well at home and, let’s just say, less than stellar on the road. When you are building your cash lineups, think about including Aaron Mooy, especially on Draftkings. Yes, he had 2 goals last week, but that’s not the reason he makes the grade. Brighton’s quality of possession goes down on the road and they are not as defensively sound. This means that there are lapses of judgment or communication and it tends to burn them. Mooy, being on set-pieces and facilitating the offense, is poised to take advantage of the lapses.

Leicester v Watford

Over the last month, Leicester has been in smash spots. Over the last month, they have gotten points but have not lived up to potential. At this point, I don’t know when, or if, they will realize that potential. Watford is back on that offensive rollercoaster they have been on this season. They have only scored 1 goal in their last 3 — where they saw Liverpool, Southampton, and Newcastle. They were kept off the board at Newcastle and Leicester has a much better defense than Newcastle. On paper, James Maddison looks like a cash play, but I think he is a little overpriced for the slate. He is a viable play as part of a GPP stack, but there are better plays out there for cash.

Hey! I just wanted to take a break to tell you about our Beat The Bookie service over at the DFS Army. With the supreme court ruling that sports betting is legal, the DFS Army has launched their “Beat the Bookie” site. This is where we have handicappers teaching members how to make bets as well as sharing their proven models. If you have ever wanted to try your hand at sports betting, it’s better to do it with the help of winners in your ear. We have teamed up with the site MyBookie. If you are a new user and deposit at least $50, you will get a free month of the DFS Army Beat the Bookie service.

Manchester City v Bournemouth

Here is the premier match of the week. There is a chance City does not keep a clean here. That was said more for the sake of Ederson, who is only a cash play for me, than it was for Bournemouth. City is a strong home side and I like them for a number of goals. Stack up City in all formats and move on.

Newcastle v West Ham

I like this match overall. Newcastle is on a 3 game win streak and is playing solid all over the pitch. West Ham got waxed by City last week but that is expected. Take that game away and they have given up 3 goals in the previous 2 matches while scoring 5. These teams are really close; and, given that, I could see a draw but also a 1 goal victory. This type of game, with offenses playing so well, could see plenty of peripheral scoring, as well as a few goals. Matt Ritchie is 4th in the league in crosses and top 10 on the slate in chances created over the last 3 weeks. West Ham should allow him free reign to cross, in addition to his set-piece duty. He should garner strong consideration in cash.

Southampton v Manchester United

I do believe there is plenty to take advantage of in the final match of the day. The red devils are not playing up to the quality of the squad. The issues are well-noted but it all adds up to a lack of defensive quality. Southampton isn’t a defensive stalwart either, but they do play better at home. United should be victorious but I do think both teams score. This is the hammer match so I don’t think any of these players will make my cash lineups. GPP is a different story. For those plays and my plays for the entire slate, join the DFS Army.

That’s the game breakdown for this week. Remember, this is a top-level view and things can change. Of course, you know about the most important hour in the soccer DFS world. We will always have free content but the good stuff is saved for the ones who are willing to go the extra step. We will stand with you if you stand with us. Good luck this week!
