DFS College Basketball Winning Lineup Advice for Early Slate CBB on Draftkings Fanduel 11/15/2018

Good morning to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2018-2019 CBB season!  Remember, if I mention a player and do not point out which site it means that my preference is the site where he is cheaper.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the early slates for this afternoon.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

Fanduel and Draftkings CBB slate of games:

Ball St (74) vs Virginia Tech (81)

St Joseph’s (76) vs Wake Forest (75)

UCF (73) vs Cal State Fullerton (69)

Alabama (73) vs Northeastern (71)

BALL ST vs VIRGINIA TECH

The first game of the early slate is the game that should be the highest scoring.  I really like Virginia Tech in this spot as they have a pretty tight rotation, so we basically know who is going to see the lions share of minutes.  I think the Hokies have 7 guys that you can actually use in GPP play on this slate.  The two guys I want all the exposure to are Alexander-Walker and Blackshear Jr.  I prefer to use Robinson and Wilkins as GPP options on FD.  Wilkins is a freshman shooter who has the ability to get hot, but he could also put up a stinker.  I think Hill is definitely in play in both cash and GPPs, while I prefer him on DK I think he is definitely in play on FD as well.  Outlaw and Bede are flyer type plays as Outlaw starts and should see decent minutes, however, his usage is pretty low.

One of my top GPP plays on FD is Tahjai Teague.  He is coming off a very rough, foul-filled, game and now gets to take on a Va Tech team that lacks any kind of actual size outside of Blackshear.  The big debate is going to be which side finds themselves in foul trouble the fastest.  I do not mind Persons or Walton on DK at their prices, while I am definitely off of them on FD at this point.  Hazen does not excite me, however, you could convince me if he is the last man into your GPP lineup.  I may have a share of Moses as an out-there GPP play on DK thanks to his blocks and rebounds upside should he be forced into 18+ minutes.

SAINT JOSEPH’S vs WAKE FOREST

I was initially extremely excited to be able to use a few guys from Saint Joseph’s, however, after looking at price points I just do not see a ton to like overall.  Pierfrancesco Oliva is definitely a GPP play on both sites, even though I lean towards the $1200 savings on FD.  He is a rebounding machine for the Hawks.  I do like Charlie Brown as a GPP play on both sites and a cash play on DK at just $5500.  Longpre would be a GPP flyer for me as we do not really know the exact rotation between him and Oliva.

The top play on Wake Forest for me is, uber talented, Jaylen Hoard.  Hoard was a 5-star prospect coming out of high school and had his sights set on WF immediately.  The sites did not do a great job adjusting his price after an impressive 19 and 13 double-double.  Sarr is a solid GPP play on both sites and offers some upside thanks to his ability to rebound and block shots.  Childress, Mucius, and Wright are all in play as GPP options, with Childress being best used on DK.

UCF vs CAL STATE FULLERTON

There is a big price difference for Taylor and Dawkins between the sites as FD has them $1100 and $1300 cheaper respectively.  I do not think I will be using much of Taylor or Dawkins, however, If I do it will 100% be on FD.  The only other guy I will have any real interest in is Collin Smith at $4200 on FD.  That price is just too low, even though he burned me bad the last time out.

I want exposure to Kyle Allman Jr as long as I can find out why he did not play the last game.  I am not finding any kind of injury news at this point so I will need to keep digging to make sure its not some internal suspension.  Jackson Rowe is supposed to be out with a foot injury for this game, so we will need to make sure we get clarification.  Should he manage to play, he is just $3000 on FD.  There seems to be two pricing errors on DK’s part as Awosika and Ahmad are significantly cheaper on DK and become extremely positive GPP plays.  Clare and Pitts have both been in the starting lineup to begin the season and both are very much in play on either site, especially Pitts at just $3000 on FD.  Jamal Smith would be an auto lock for me at his extremely cheap price should Allman miss this game.

ALABAMA vs NORTHEASTERN

Alabama has a big-time advantage in one area of this matchup and that is in the paint.  Both Donta Hall and Herbert Jones are elite levels at drawing fouls, while the big men for NE are very much prone to foul trouble.  I will be using them on both sites, even at Hall’s insanely high $9400 price tag on DK.  I prefer using Kira Lewis on DK and Dazon Ingram on FD as I think both offer upside at their price points.

Northeastern is basically a 6 man rotation for DFS purposes.  Pusica is the guy that I want for GPP purposes as he offers the biggest upside on the team.  Roland would seem like somebody to use in GPPs as he got hot last time out and put up over 41 fantasy points, however, I am not banking on him catching fire from 3 again in this game.  Gresham, Green, and Brace are all mediocre GPP plays that just don’t excite me all that much.  If they fit your build, I can see routes for them to return value.
