Well hello, you beautiful people! Welcome to my first day of providing CBB content for the DFS Army. I can not begin to explain how pumped I am to have CBB DFS back in our lives, nor can I explain just how excited I am to be providing content for DFS Army. This article will be for the main slate this evening on DK.
We have 5 games on the slate tonight and the 5 games offer us projected totals between 132 and 154 points. The games and totals are as follows:
Moorehead St (58) @ Syracuse (80)
Holy Cross (57) @ Michigan (75)
Ball St (67) @ Purdue (81)
Quinnipiac (63) @ Villanova (87)
Texas Southern (64) @ Gonzaga (90)
Let’s take a look at some plays (both GPP and cash game) for each team!
Moorehead State
Looking at Moorehead St in this game, I find it hard to trust any of them against the zone that Syracuse runs. Jordan Walker is the player that I want if I can find out he is ready to play. He is listed as questionable, however, I can not find any injury news on him. If we find out he is playing, I will lock him into cash and GPP lineups at just $3800. As it sits right now, I think Cooper, Harris, and Green are all in play for both cash and GPPs. Due to the zone that Syracuse plays, they have a trouble boxing out and teams can hit the offensive boards extremely hard against them. Harris and Green should have shots at double-doubles in this matchup.
Syracuse
Looks as though Frank Howard is going to miss this game, which means we should see Tyus Battle handle the ball a lot more. He disappointed in the first game of the season and I think he makes a great bounce back GPP play in this one. I think the best plays for GPPs and for cash are Oshae Brissett and Elijah Hughes. Brissett is just so steady and should approach a solid double-double, while Hughes shot pretty badly in game 1 and still was able to near a 5x return on his price point. I think Jalen Carey at 4100 has GPP upside, as does Bourama Sidibe. Sidibe is just $3400 and has 25 fantasy point upside.

Holy Cross
I am going to be honest and say I do not see myself using much of any of the Holy Cross players. While they run a short rotation, the matchup is going to be extremely difficult and I just do not see the upside in the players. They do have a few guys that I think are OK as cash game plays as they should reach a floor. Floyd does a bit of everything as a big man, however, he just doesn’t have a high usage. Benzan might be my favorite player as a high usage player off of the bench. I think you can definitely slide Butler and Green in as cash game plays, especially Butler as he is efficient and offers the highest usage.
Michigan
You would think that I would be able to find myself playing some Michigan in what should be an easy matchup, however, that is just not the case as they all seem to be priced up too high. All of the guards are too expensive for my liking and I think that eliminates their ceilings. I do think that Teske is a solid, unspectacular cash game play at $6400. Brazdeikis is a GPP play for me at $5900 as he is not afraid to shoot it. My favorite GPP play on Michigan is probably Austin Davis at just $3300. He is definitely just a dart play as he could see some extended run in a game that gets out of hand.
Ball State
My favorite GPP option from Ball St comes with risk, as Trey Moses is returning from knee surgery and saw just 11 minutes in the first game of the season. He averaged mid-2os for minutes last season and is priced at just $3800 for this game. I think Persons is a perfectly fine cash game play at just $5200 thanks to a high usage rate. K.J. Walton is my second favorite play from Ball St as he is $200 cheaper than Persons and should have similar usage. Hazen and Mallers are two guys that could pay off in GPPs at just $4900 and $4800 respectively.
Purdue
Carsen Edwards is always in play as a GPP option, however, his price tag is just too high for my liking tonight. My preferred play is Ryan Cline who finally has himself a starting role as a senior. He has lights out shooting ability and he showed his passing ability in game 1 of the season as he racked up 8 assists. I view Grady Eifert as a solid GPP option in a game that he should clean up the glass against a smaller Ball St squad. An interesting GPP flyer is Sasha Stefanovic as he played 19 minutes in game 1 and is priced at just $3300.

Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac has a large unknown question mark surrounding this team as they did not play any exhibition games. Rich Kelly is apparently dealing with a knee issue and his availability is unknown as of this minute. Should he not play, Tyrese Williams or Tyree Pickron will start and become excellent cash game locks at just $3000. I will be trying to update this in the CBB-Talk channel. My initial take on this team was to plug Cameron Young in for GPPs and cash as his usage is through the roof at just $7300. My favorite GPP play is Abdulai Bundu at just $4000.
Villanova
Villanova is loaded with a bunch of cash game plays as Booth, Paschall, and Gillespie should have legitimate achievable floors for their price points. Gillespie joins Bey and Samuels as GPP plays. Bey has looked extremely good all summer and followed that up with a solid 22 DK points in game 1. An extremely deep GPP is Cole Swider at $3400 in what could turn into a blowout and lead to him seeing the court for about 15-18 minutes.
Texas Southern
Texas Southern will try to pull off their second upset of the season against an elite opponent in Gonzaga. They run at a really high pace so this game should have a large number of possessions. Patterson is a transfer from LSU and is criminally underpriced at just $6300. I will be having GPP and cash exposure to Trayvon Reed as well. There are 3 other GPP plays on this team as Butler, Combs, and Bruce are all in play, even against a solid defensive team.
Gonzaga
This is a prime spot for Gonzaga and I would not be surprised to see them cross the 100 point mark. I think Norvell Jr and Clarke are both GPP plays as their price tags are a bit high for my liking in terms of cash game play. Rio Hachimura is going to be locked into my lineups tonight as he is priced way too low for being somebody with through the roof upside. There is no way he should be the 4th most expensive Zag. I think Crandall and Petrusev are solid GPP options in what could turn into a high paced blowout.
There you have it ladies and gentleman, our Saturday slate of games is under way. I really like this main slate tonight and am looking forward to some sweats. Best of luck!! However, in order to unlock the DFS goodness that is DFS Army coaching, you need to become a VIP.
