Now let’s get down to the fights on this slate!

Sandhagen (-220) 8.3k vs Arnett (+180) 7.9k

Sandhagen is a solid striker that likes to throw a lot.  He has good combos and a decent submission game.  Arnett is a decent striker who also likes to throw heavy volume.  Arnett is the more experienced fighter here but, his competition hasn’t been that great.  Sandhagen did just have a fight a week ago.  He won the fight in the first round via TKO.  He has gone against better competition then Arnett.  Sandhagen is my preferred play.  I think you can use him in all formats.  He will be very chalky in cash.  Arnett, I might use some just because he will be lower owned then Sandhagen.  (I am still undecided on the direction I am going in cash.  Be sure to keep an eye on Slack with my thoughts post weigh in)

Price (-300) 9k vs Sullivan (+250) 7.2k

Price is a decent striker (2.5 Significant Strikes (SS) per minute).  He has decent power and okay submissions.  Sullivan hasn’t had a fight in over two years (coming off back-to-back suspensions).  He is a tough fighter.  He isn’t the best striker but does land at a decent rate of 3.5 SS.  Another interesting note Sullivan has a 30% takedown (TD) defense.  Price is definitely playable in GPPs.  Still undecided if I like him in cash.  I am not very interested in Sullivan unless you are making more than 10-12 lineups and even then only 1-2 lineups tops.  (Another fight to pay attention to my thoughts in Slack)

Silva (-110) 8.1k vs Pichel (-110) 8.1k

This right off the bat is a fight I will be getting exposure to in GPPs.  Silva is a good striker with decent power.  Pichel is a decent striker that likes to pressure.  He is a solid wrestler with decent TDs.  This fight is basically a pick em.  Either fighter could realistically win.  I may just split my shares down the middle here in GPPs.  They are both priced the same.  I won’t be all in on this fight.  A good strategy would be if you have one of them in your lineup, come back with the same lineup using the other fighter.

Kish (-290) 9.2k vs Kim (+245) 7k

Kish is moving up a weight class for this fight.  She is decent all around and likes to stay very aggressive.  She does tend to leave her chin open at times so, she is hittable.  Kim is moving down a weight class for this fight.  She is a decent striker.  Other than that she is great anywhere.  She will have the size advantage in this fight.  I don’t necessarily know if she will win.  I really like her as a value play in cash.  She has a solid floor of about 20-25 points in a loss.  I will take that at her price in cash all day.  She also could win as well which means she also has a solid ceiling.  I don’t like Kish at her price anywhere.  I don’t think it’s likely she reaches value in a fight that Vegas likes to not end early.  I will most likely be fading her for the most part (definitely fading in 3-entry max contests).  I might have her in 1-2 lineups in contests I am playing 20+ lineups.  Overall Kim is the preferred play.

Markos (-165) 8.8k vs Lima (+145) 7.4k

Markos is a decent striker (3 SS per minute) and a decent grappler.  Lima is also a decent striker (2 SS per minute).  She has decent TDs.  Overall this isn’t a fight I like very much.  Vegas likes this to go to decision.  Markos is very fadable at her salary.  Lima is a GPP Punt at best. Overall if you want to cut down your fighter pool this is a great fight to eliminate completely.

Chookagian (-150) 8.7k vs Borella (+130) 7.5k

Chookagian is a solid striker that likes to throw at high volume.  She has decent TD defense.  Borella is a good grappler with decent TDs.  She has decent submissions as well.  Here we have another fight Vegas likes to go to a decision.  Neither are playable in cash.  Chookagian will be lower owned then other fighters around her so, she is a viable pivot.  Borella is one of my least favorite punts but will also be lower owned than others around her.  Overall I won’t have much exposure to.  I might have a touch of them in GPPs

Bektic (-600) 9.4k vs Pepey (+450) 6.8k

Bektic is a good wrestler with good TDs.  He also has good ground and pound.  Pepey is a wild striker with decent submissions.  Let’s keep this simple, Bektic is playable in all formats. It’s that simple. He has a solid floor and a very high ceiling.  Pepey is mostly fadable.  I will have some very small exposure to him.  This is MMA and anything can happen.  Don’t overthink this fight in general Bektic is one of the best plays on this card period.

Green (-160) 8.5k vs Koch (+140) 7.7k

Not a fight I like much.  Green is a tough fighter.  You just never know what you are going to get with him.  Sometimes he looks great and other times he looks horrible.  Koch is a decent strike with good leg kicks.  For the price, I don’t like Green much at all.  Koch is decent for his salary.  This is another fight you can fade (I might have a few lineups with each at best).

Dober (-160) 8.9k vs Camacho (+140) 7.3k

This is a solid fight to target in GPP’s.  Dober is a solid striker with good leg kicks.  Camacho is moving up a weight class for this fight.  He is a solid striker with good power.  I will have both fighters in my tournament lineups.  I like Camacho more. I don’t hate him even as a punt in cash.  Dober is in play also.  Not my favorite play towards the top but, he isn’t the worst either.  Overall I will have more exposure to Camacho.

Gillespie (-570) 9.5k vs Rinaldi (+435) 6.7k

Gillespie is a solid striker with good power.  He is a good wrestler with decent TDs (former NCAA D1 Wrestling Champ 4x).  Rinaldi will have the size advantage.  He has solid submissions.  He has shown to have a weak chin.  Gillespie is playable in all formats.  Rinaldi is a very extreme punt at best (I might have him in 1 lu just in case something crazy happens).  Gillespie is one of my favorite plays period, enough said.

Bermudez (-155) 8.6k vs Fili (+135) 7.6k

Bermudez is a good wrestler with solid TDs (3.5 TD per 3 rounds).  Fili is a decent striker with decent leg kicks.  He is a decent wrestler with decent TDs.  He has shown can be taken down in previous fights.  Bermudez has upside through his wrestling. I like him in GPPs.  Only knock on him is he always gets hit pretty good in his previous fights.  For that reason, Fili is also an option as a GPP punt.  (Not sure how I feel about Fili in cash.  I will give my thoughts in Slack)

Souza (-130) 8.4k vs Brunson (+110) 7.8k

This is the main event.  If you have read this article before.  You know my thoughts for cash.  This is definitely stackable in cash.  This fight most likely goes to decision.  The winner should score well and I don’t see any reason why this stack won’t score 120+ points.

Souza is a good grappler with good TDs.  He also has good submissions.  Brunson is a very aggressive.  He has good power and is a solid striker.  Most of his wins come via KO and normally end pretty early.  I will have both fighters in GPP’s.  My slight preference is Souza.  It’s more of an ownership play more than anything.
