The 5-4-3 Double Play | Stacks, Matchups, and Value Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings | May 6

The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked.  We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing.  Our Discord strategy rooms are incredibly active. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Chicago Cubs
Seems like a solid spot for the Cubs yet again facing this Reds rotation. Brady Singer hasn’t done anything this season of note, pitching to a 5.57 ERA and 1.73 WHIP while only striking out 20 batters over seven starts. Prime spot for this high-upside offense to take advantage, and I’m starting with Nico Hoerner, Seiya Suzuki, Ian Happ, and Moises Ballesteros.

Atlanta Braves
The Braves have one of the best offenses in the league, and tonight they face a normally solid, high-floor pitcher in Bryan Woo; however, he’s fallen off in his last two starts, allowing 13 earned runs in just nine innings, and in your tournaments I think Atlanta makes a ton of sense for their upside and in attacking Woo’s struggles. Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies should be your starting spots; Drake Baldwin has pop and Mauricio Dubon has hit the Seattle pitcher well in the past.

Cincinnati Reds
The Reds have a solid-upside matchup tonight in the same game, and this could be a bit of a game stack situation here as well if you like. Colin Rea has been very hit or miss this season (a 4.47 ERA), especially over this last two starts (eight earned runs in 8.2 innings), and Cincinnati has compiled a very respectable .823 OPS against him in 119 AB. Elly de la Cruz, Spencer Steer, and Will Benson have all had good success against him, so I’m starting my stacks with him.

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly de la Cruz (44) follows through on a two-run home run in the eighth inning of the MLB National League game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Colorado Rockies at Great American Ball Park in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The Reds won the opening game of the series, 7-2.

New York Yankees
Interesting spot for the Yankees here. Nathan Eovaldi shut them down five days ago, not allowing a single run over seven innings; however, that start lowered his season ERA to 4.76. Outlier or is he back on track? I think with the upside New York’s offense brings, I can see some decent exposure in your MME. Aaron Judge is always in play regardless of matchup, and I’d consider Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger at almost the same level (they’ve combined for nine HR and 24 RBI over the past seven games).

Boston Red Sox
Can you trust the Red Sox offense? It’s gross to be sure, but if you want a deep tournament play, Boston might make a bit of sense. Jack Flaherty is on the struggle bus at the moment, having allowed 10 earned runs over his last two starts (just 5.2 innings); he also only went 3.2 innings against this team a few starts ago. The team as a whole has a solid .807 OPS against him in 71 AB. Consider some two-stacks with some chalkier stacks if you want to hedge a bit, but regardless, it’s a risky spot that has some value.
