The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Athletics
I like the upside the A’s have in this one. Trevor McDonald is a young pitcher who does have some good stuff, but the game has a 9.5 total in a hitters’ park and the Athletics have pop in their bats. Shea Langeliers and Nick Kurtz is where I’d start my stacks, and mix in Zach Gelof and Brent Rooker as well. They should be fairly popular given the ceiling potential.

Atlanta Braves
Similar to the A’s, I like the upside the Braves have tonight. They’ve got one of the best offenses in baseball, and I don’t mind having some shares against Payton Tolle who’s been very good this season. There are a lot of ceiling-potential offenses tonight and I want exposure to as many as I can.
New York Yankees
The Yankees have one of the better matchups tonight as well as a high ceiling (seeing a theme?), so I’m going overweight on them in this one. They’ve got a team OPS just under .800 over the past two weeks (though it’s been a bit colder this current seven-day stretch), but that’s not moving me off of them in this one.

New York Mets
Tournament-only spot here for the Mets facing their crosstown rivals. Carlos Rodon is making his second start of the season after spending the first month on the IL, and after giving up three earned runs in just 4.1 innings against the Brewers while walking five, I don’t mind taking some shots on that kind of result again. It’s scary, but a sprinkle isn’t the worst idea.
San Francisco Giants
This might be too far under the radar, but it’s a good stadium for hitting and it’s not like Luis Severino is a world-beater (though he’s been better lately as compared to his 4.07 ERA on the season). Most of the Giants’ hitters are going to be cost-effective enough to not break the bank in your lineups, so a sprinkle in your tournaments isn’t the worst idea.
