The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Arizona Diamondbacks
I like the spot tonight: the Diamondbacks at home and Sean Burke not being that effective thus far (he’s allowed nine earned runs in 20.1 innings thus far and is not striking out a ton of batters). The Sox bullpen is not good, either (the third-highest group ERA in the league at 6.89). Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte are the obvious starting spots; Nolan Arenado has found his power lately and Ildemaro Vargas is maybe overlooked a bit.

San Diego Padres
High-upside offense in Coors is always interesting, and I’m liking the Padres tonight in this one (the first game of the series). It’s not the usual suspects who are hot for San Diego right now, but rather names like Ramon Laureano and Xander Bogaerts, so be sure to include them with the normal stud pieces.
Seattle Mariners
Jacob Lopez continues to struggle out of the gate (a 6.38 ERA and 1.96 WHIP while not making it past the fifth inning in any one of his four starts). Seattle’s offense has also been cold (they’re averaging under four runs per game), which could lower the interest a bit, but that’s a spot that’s lovely to build around in MME as a bit of a leverage play. Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez are the obvious; Brendan Donovan is fitting in nicely at the top of the order and Luke Raley is my favorite lower-in-the-order option.

Los Angeles Angels
It’s obvious to most DFS players that you attack Patrick Corbin when he’s on the mound, and tonight the Angels are going to be popular for that very reason (plus, you know, they’re hot offensively). Mike Trout and Jorge Soler have the pop; Zach Neto is always solid, and Oswald Peraza has been sneakily good and could go a bit under the radar.
Chicago Cubs
The Cub offense is heating up a little bit (34 runs scored over their last six games). Jesus Luzardo is not having a nice season (a 7.94 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in four starts), so I don’t mind shares of Chicago in your MME mix at all. Nico Hoerner is the NL Player of the Week and I’d start my stacks with him; Alex Bregman has had some success against Lizard, as has Matt Shaw for cheap, and Moises Ballesteros seems to have the DH/pop spot locked down.
