The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Atlanta Braves
The Braves offense has picked up since a slow start to the season, and tonight they have a solid spot: Chris Paddack hasn’t looked the best this season (a 6.14 ERA, though it’s magnified by eight runs given up in his first start). Atlanta has a solid .832 OPS against him in 81 AB, and I’m fine taking some tournament shots here. Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies are playing well and also have solid results against him, so that’s where I’m starting; Mike Yastrzemski is cold overall but loves hitting against Paddack.

Los Angeles Angels
Luis Gil looked a little rough in his first start (three earned runs through four innings) and we know that the Angels are a great tournament stack given their lowish floor and high ceiling, so this is a great MME spot and one I’d like to be over the field on. Love seeing Mike Trout play well, and Jorge Soler and Zach Neto are great starting spots as well.
Houston Astros
The Astros have scored the most runs in baseball and yet are at the bottom of the AL West. Offense is clearly not an issue, and when a team like that is facing the Rockies’ pitching staff, exposure is a must. Yordan Alvarez is a must-have in your stacks, and Jose Altuve is picking up the pace as well (these two could be a solid mini-stack in some of your lines as well).

Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodgers are a high-upside tournament option tonight with both Clay Holmes (1.50 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over three starts) and the Mets’ bullpen (2.85 ERA) pitching extremely well so far. That could lower their ownership to the point where there’s some positive leverage to be had by stacking them (even on the small side). Andy Pages is firmly in the “start with” pile, and Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernandez are probably where I’d go along with him.
Colorado Rockies
If you read the write-up on the Astros, you know why Rockies bats make sense here. Houston’s bullpen ERA is an abysmal 6.58, the third-worst mark in baseball, and if Colorado can get to them, it could be a good night for your stacks. Mickey Moniak and Troy Johnston are where I’m starting my exposures.
