The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Philadelphia Phillies
The offense for Philly popped off yesterday with both Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper going back-to-back, and I could easily see the same type of result happening again this afternoon. Zac Gallen has recovered a bit from his awful 2025 season, but I personally haven’t seen enough yet to make me think about automatically going away from him. Bryson Stott is a nice mix-in with the above two and Trea Turner.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Love the spot here as Arizona has started to pick it up offensively lately. This game has a total of 8.5 and features a couple of pitchers who can give up runs, including the Diamondbacks’ opponent on the mound as Andrew Painter has a 4.82 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through two starts. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte are the obvious starting spots, and a two-man stack here makes a lot of sense; you can also pay down for Geraldo Perdomo and Tim Tawa as some cheaper pieces.
Washington Nationals
Interesting spot here for a few reasons. The Nats haven’t had a ton of luck recently after a fairly hot start, but they have some solid pieces (CJ Abrams and James Wood), and Brandon Woodruff has struggled out of the gate this season, pitching to a 5.91 ERA in 10.2 innings so far. I’d be a little over the field here and am happy to take some shots here even on the small-stack side.

Los Ángeles Dodgers
I know they’re not on the main slate, but this is a great tournament play here in Los Angeles: their upside is high, but their leverage is as well with them going up against Jacob deGrom who’s been very good this season so far. I think this is a spot that you can feel fine to go over the field on the Dodger offense in your MME even though it might feel a bit uncomfortable, but that’s how you win a tournament. Outside of the usual suspects, Andy Pages is definitely a key piece of my stack exposures.
Chicago Cubs
Chicago’s offense hasn’t been producing well, but Aaron Civale is due some negative regression after a couple of strong starts to the season. Cubs are cold, but they’re too good to not be due some positive regression, and given Civale’s track record, that could come today. Ian Happ, PCA, and Nico Hoerner are my favorite pieces. Also…the wind is blowing out today big time (20 mph-ish).
