The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Boston Red Sox
Nice spot for the Red Sox to have a ceiling performance. Granted, Dustin May isn’t likely as bad as his 15.95 ERA through two starts would indicate (13 earned runs through 7.1 innings), but nothing has shown me that he’s suddenly going to figure it out, so I’m happy taking some chances here. Start your stacks with Willson Contreras and Trevor Story; Jarren Duren and Wilyer Abreu are also pieces I want exposure to, and we can’t forget Roman Anthony leading off.

Los Angeles Dodgers
As much as we may get tired of seeing it, the Dodger offense is almost always in play either because they’re in a good matchup (like tonight) or because they’re a solid tournament leverage play facing an elite pitcher. Kumar Rocker slots into the former category. You know the usual suspects, and Andy Pages is quickly falling into that category as well with how he’s been playing this season. I also like Miguel Rojas as a cheaper wraparound piece.
Colorado Rockies
I’m interested to see how the Rockies do outside of Coors. They put up some runs on the Astros in their last series, but the intrigue here is heightened as they’re facing Walker Buehler who has gotten blown up in his first two starts (seven earned runs allowed in just 6.2 innings). I don’t mind taking some MME shots here, and I’m starting with TJ Rumfeld, Mickey Moniak, and Troy Johnston .

Toronto Blue Jays
It’s a small sample size (just 34 AB), but as a team the Blue Jays are hitting .342 off of Woods Richardson (with a 1.240 OPS). Vladimir Guerrero, George Springer, and Daulton Varsho are where I’d start; Daulton Varsho and Davis Scheneider will be mixed in as well. Toronto has to start getting it going offensively and I’d prefer to be ahead of that.
Atlanta Braves
The real Slade Cecconi is closer to his first start (six earned in 4.1 innings) than his second (six innings of no-hit ball), and I’m happy to take advantage of that thought process. The Braves are averaging over five runs per game (the fourth best mark in the league); Drake Baldwin and Matt Olson should be where you start your stacks, and both Mauricio Dubon and Ozzie Albies have been hitting well over the last week or so.
