Welcome to the Week 9 edition of Part the Cloud!
We’re back again to uncover those overlooked wide receivers who can help our lineups stand out from the crowd. Let’s dive in.
🎞️ The Film Room
Last week was a strong bounce-back for the Cloud — lots of great calls and promising performances. Let’s recap the highlights.
Rome Odunze
(DK: 3.4x | FD: 2.5x)
Odunze topped 100 yards to secure the bonus, hauling in 7 catches on 10 targets. We loved the matchup, and he delivered exactly as expected.
Alec Pierce
(DK: 1.9x | FD: 1.4x)
Pierce was our lone miss last week. He got the deep looks we expected but only converted 2 of 5 targets for 69 yards. The deep threat volatility showed up on the downside this time.
Chimere Dike
(DK: 4.8x | FD: 2.6x)
Dike continued to shine with 7 receptions for 93 yards. He’s become that guy for the Titans. As long as Ridley remains out and Dike keeps stacking production, his target share should stay healthy.
Troy Franklin
(DK: 6.4x | FD: 4.4x)
Franklin was a bonus play shared in our Discord (if you’re not in there yet, you’re missing out — it’s where we turn this weekly insight into actionable plays). He rewarded us with 6 catches on 8 targets for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns!
🔢 11 Personnel
Three wide receiver sets are the most common formation in football — so let’s roll out our own trio of WR plays for Week 9.
Michael Pittman Jr.
DK: $5,900 (Proj. Ownership: 7.79%)
FD: $7,200 (Proj. Ownership: 5.68%)
I love Pittman this week. He’s the WR1 for the Colts and faces a struggling defense. Their biggest issues arise against two-high coverages, which explains why they mostly lean on single-high looks. No matter the coverage, Pittman can thrive — he’s a technician on slants, hitches, nines, and posts. Expect him to eat against the Steelers’ secondary.
Parker Washington
DK: $3,700 (Proj. Ownership: 9.56%)
FD: $5,300 (Proj. Ownership: 6.42%)
With Travis Hunter hitting IR, Washington’s target share just took a jump. Keep an eye on his ownership — it may climb closer to kickoff — but for now, he fits perfectly in our value bucket. The Raiders’ defense struggles when shifting into man coverage or single-high safety looks, and those are the exact situations where Washington thrives. He’s got a favorable matchup this week.
Tre Tucker
DK: $4,800 (Proj. Ownership: 3.56%)
FD: $5,500 (Proj. Ownership: 5.69%)
The Raiders might go overlooked, but they’re sneaky viable here. The Jaguars have struggled in man coverage and two-high safety sets — both areas where Tucker excels. He also draws a manageable matchup against Greg Newsome, and with new additions like Tyler Lockett joining the rotation, Tucker remains the steadiest performer against zone coverage, which the Jags play at a high rate. Expect him to provide some much-needed consistency in this receiving corps.
🏁 In Summary
These are my three favorite low-owned wide receiver plays across the salary range for Week 9:
