NHL Building Blocks – March 13
Nine games tonight, and more than a few have playoff implications. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 13
The Goalie: Andrei Vasilevskiy
Vas (30-18-3 / 2.29 / .920) has been his usual very good self all season, and the Tampa defense has been great as well, allowing the fifth fewest goals in the league, and he’s got a great offense in front of him (the third best goal differential as well). Philly’s offense ranks in the bottom 10 in scoring, so even on the road, I like Vas tonight a good amount.
The Center: Leon Draisaitl
In the midst of a 15-game point streak (11 goals and 12 assists) and New Jersey hasn’t been the best defensively lately.
The Wing: Brady Tkachuk
Seven goals and a helper over his last seven games (current point streak), and the Senators are trending up at just the right moment while facing a Bruins team going the opposite direction.
The Defenseman: Zach Werenski
Good game environment tonight for perhaps the leader for the Norris; great floor/ceiling combo as always.
The Value: Mathieu Olivier
Four goals in his last five games.
The Stack: TB (Kucherov-Guentzel-Point)
The Bolts have one of the best matchups tonight, especially when considering ceiling; these three are as elite as they come as a line (92 goals between them); you can easily mix in Hagel (30 goals) and/or Cirelli (20) to save some salary, but the vast majority of Tampa’s offense goes through these forwards.
