NHL Building Blocks – February 10

NHL Building Blocks – February 10

Saturday action is always fun, and we’ve got 15 games total with seven games on the evening slate.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – February 10
The Goalie:
 Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8400 DK / $8000 FD)
Should be a popular goalie tonight as the Lightning face a Blue Jackets team that is not good and that hasn’t played in nearly a week and a half.  Vas (16-11-0 / 2.82 / .899) has been solid this season, but not quite up to his usual standards, but tonight should see a strong outing from him.

The Center:  John Tavares ($6600 DK/ $7000 FD)
Three goals and three assists in his past three games and skating really well.  Nice spot and a nice savings from Matthews.  Averaging a point per game this season against the Sens.

The Wing:  Nikita Kucherov ($9700 DK/ $10000 FD)
League’s leading scorer should be able to do whatever he wants against a bad Blue Jackets team that hasn’t played in a week and a half.

The Defenseman:  Roman Josi ($7200 DK / $8000 FD)
The do-it-all defenseman with an incredible floor/ceiling combo; 45 points in 51 games and averages over three shots and nearly two blocks per contest.

The Value:  Shane Pinto ($4400 DK / $4900 FD)
Centering PP1 in a plus matchup against a bad penalty kill; four points in his past five games.

The Stack: TB1 (Kucherov/Point/Stamkos Hedman)
Should be a popular stack on the slate as the Lightning get the best matchup on paper.  Columbus hasn’t played in a week and a half, and they’re not very good to begin with anyway (they allow 3.66 goals per game, second worst in the entire league), and they’ve lost seven of their past 10 games.  These four (grouped together at even strength and the power play, which is the best in the NHL) should have a lot of opportunities to create offense tonight.

The Builder: BOS/DAL ML parlay
