Week 14 | Points |
Lamar Jackson | 35.64 |
Rachaad White | 24.5 |
Joe Mixon | 21.5 |
Deebo Samuel | 37 |
Drake London | 32.2 |
Odell Beckham Jr. | 19.7 |
Isaiah Likely | 19.3 |
Austin Ekeler | 21 |
Vikings DST | 20 |
Total | 230.84 |
This lineup featured the one game environment that Lamar needs to break the slate and be the ‘Nuts QB.’ The maddening part is I wrote about this in my Cheatsheet, and didn’t get to much Lamar at all. The scenario where Lamar and his Ravens air it out is when the other team is scoring and forcing them to score – as Los Angeles did and pushed this game to an overtime thriller. This game combined for 68 points. Lamar had over 300 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 70 rushing yards. He also brought Beckhham and Likely with him. He almost brought 3 with him as Flowers had a good game as well, but as we called it, Flowers, Beckham, and Isaiah were the most Likely ones to appear in the winning lineup with Lamar.

Drake London | 21.33% |

What was unique about this lineup was that it avoided the heavy chalk of CMC and Moss, who both failed, and played White and Ekeler instead. He ate chalk with Mixon, Deebo, London, and Likely, but differentiated the rest of the lineup so it didn’t matter. We talk about this a lot in DFS – don’t focus so much on individual chalky pieces, focus on the entire lineup. It’s extremely rare to find a GPP winning lineup with contarian plays at every spot; You need to take some great values and differentiate the lineup in a few spots and that’s what was done here with the stack of Lamar, the White play, and the Vikings DST.
Top Leverage Plays
Lamar at 3.68%
Top scoring QB and stack on the slate at 3% ownership. This was the top leverage play on the entire slate.
Rachaad White at 3.93%
It was a week where there were a handful of backs over 20 points but none over 30 points. That’s exactly how White ended up being a leverage play at 3% ownership and 24.5 points.
Odell Beckham Jr at 7.65%
Beckham has really come on as of late and despite only catching 4 of 10 targets, he made the most of them with 97 yards and a Touchdown. He was able to outscore a lot of the chalky, expensive plays like Allen, the Sun God, Metcalf, Lockett, and Olave.
Austin Ekeler at 5.26%
We loved Ekeler this week at DFS Army because of the reports that they were going to ride the hot hand approach. We felt it might be a good kick in the butt for Ekeler and that’s what it ended up being. He didn’t smash because they were in a negative gamescript the entire game, but he ran hard and his 21 points were enough on this low ceiling slate for Running Backs.
Vikings DST at 5.88%
Vikings were the 2nd highest scoring Defense on the slate and at low ownership. The Browns scored 8 less FPTS at $100 less and high ownership – which is why you generally want to fade chalk Defenses in tournaments.
Pricing and Value from the Milly Maker Contest
Week 14 | Pricing | FPTS per Dollar |
Lamar Jackson | $7,700 | 4.62X |
Rachaad White | $6,800 | 3.60X |
Joe Mixon | $6,100 | 3.52X |
Deebo Samuel | $6,800 | 5.44X |
Drake London | $4,600 | 7X |
Odell Beckham Jr. | $3,800 | 5.18X |
Isiah Likely | $3,500 | 5.51X |
Austin Ekeler | $7,600 | 2.76X |
Vikings DST | $3,100 | 6.45X |
Total | $50,000 | 4.61X |
We talk about it repeatedly and sometimes it feels like you’re beating a Deadhorse, but when it comes to players in the 8500+ range, it’s really difficult to hit 4X to keep pace with tournament winning value – even if they have a good game from a fantasy perspective. CMC rushed for 150 yards but the Touchdowns weren’t there so he finished with a 19.30 snowflake. That’s great for your season long leagues and in cash games, but you aren’t winning a large field tournament with a 19.30 from a $9200 player.
This lineup didn’t feature a player above $7700 but had a strong core of Deebo, White, Mixon, Ekeler, and Lamar to have the kind of upside to take down a large field GPP like the Milly Maker.
The Defense pay up continues to pay off as well in the Milly Maker.
Ceiling
While 230 points isn’t what we could consider high for a Millionaire Maker winning lineup, it’s the highest we’ve seen since the 260 points that won the contest in Week 10. After 14 weeks of the NFL Season, the average Milly Maker winning score is 240 points.
