Zero to Hero: Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – November 20

Zero to Hero:  Dominating the NHL Season with Smart Bets – November 20

So close to Thanksgiving.  Thankful for so many things – including a great start to the hockey season.

The premise of each article in this series is to feature a few “safe” foundational plays to build some strong cash lines around as well as to offer any props or straight bets that have some solid potential.  We’re looking for players and teams that have a solid floor and are in a good spot matchup-wise; these will be the building blocks of a booming bankroll.  (Yeah, I alliterized…deal with it.)  I will also provide a recap from the day before and rewind to see if we were on the right plays.  Keep in mind that just like a regular season, the building of a solid bankroll is a grind – it requires patience, mental fortitude, and discipline to weather the cold streaks until things turn around and you go on a heater.

Recap from 11/19

THE BUILDER – NOVEMBER 20
The Player Builder
:   Brandon Montour ($5200 DK / $4800 FD)
Against the Oilers’ lack of defense, I could pick any number of Panthers, but I can’t ignore the upside paired with the price here.  Skating on L2 with Tkachuk and Rodrigues as well as quarterbacking the top power play unit, Montour brings great potential to the already loaded Panther offense.  Averaged nearly a point per game last season and we’re getting him at the lowest price we’ll see him all year, and he’s in a plus matchup.

The Stack Builder:  VAN PP1 (Miller/Pettersson/Boeser/Hughes/Kuzmenko)
League’s best offense is always worth playing regardless of matchup.  Three players are tied for the league lead in scoring, and they’re all Canucks – Miller, Pettersson, and Hughes with 28 points each.  Throw in Boeser, tied for second in goals with 13, and you have a high-octane offense indeed.  They face the Sharks.  End of story.

The Bet Builder:  VAN/COL ML parlay (found around +100)
VAN ML (facing the Sharks) can be found around -350.

COL ML (facing the Predators) can be found around -170.
