Week 10 Waiver Wire – NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the the waiver wire targets for this week. These waiver wire targets are normally available in 50-percent of ESPN leagues.

QUARTERBACKS

Kyler Murray (ARI) – 36% Ownership

This is likely the last chance to grab a potential QB1 off the waiver wire. Murray was announced as the starter for Week 10 by head coach Jonathan Gannon. Murray has finished as a top-10 QB every season that he has been healthy. Don’t expect Murray to produce elite fantasy outcomes this week, but by the fantasy playoffs that could change.

Joshua Dobbs (MIN) – 17% Ownership

He deserves to be picked up in two-QB leagues and super FLEX leagues. For single-QB leagues, Dobbs will have relevance but managers need to pick and choose when to play him. His outlook is certainly better in Minnesota than in Arizona, but Dobbs still unravels at times with turnovers. One thing you cannot take away from Dobbs is that his rushing ability gives him potential upside every week.

Will Levis (TEN) – 39% Ownership

Levis can be streamed against Tampa Bay in single-QB leagues; in leagues where you can play two quarterbacks, Levis is a priority pick up. Levis’ Week 10 matchup versus the Bucs is attractive because against the Texans last week, Houston quarterback, C.J. Stroud, scored 40-plus fantasy points against this Tampa defense. It is worth noting that it would take quite a bit of regression for Levis to lose his grip on the starting job too, giving him season-long value.

Baker Mayfield (TB) – 44% ownership

In his last four starts, Mayfield has 18.01-FPPG and that puts him in QB2 territory for managers looking to stream in Week 10. Mayfield and the Bucs will take on the Tennessee Titans who struggle to defend opposing passing attacks. Expect Mayfield to provide a QB2 floor and have potential to finish top-12 at his position in Week 10.

Taylor Heinicke (ATL) – 4% ownership

Heinicke can be streamed in Week 10 if managers are in need. He is facing the Arizona Cardinals before going on BYE in Week 11. With the Falcons’ offensive philosophy in mind, it is hard to imagine a big game from Heinicke but he should provide low-end QB2 value.

RUNNING BACKS

Keaton Mitchell (BAL) – 1% Ownership

He is a rookie who popped in Week 9 with 20.4-PPR points across 10 touches. Mitchell was extremely efficient and finished with 15.33-YPC. The tough part about analyzing Mitchell is that he only played 18% of snaps. Mitchell is an extremely interesting player to prioritize on waivers since fantasy managers rarely find potential game-changing value at this stage of the season. Mitchell should see more work but keep your FAAB bids manageable because the running back group in Baltimore will feature two-or-more running backs each week, plus quarterback Lamar Jackson can steal all the tuddies any given week.

Leonard Fournette (BUF) – 14% Ownership

Fournette was inactive in Week 9 but remains interesting. The Bills’ short-down run game has been underwhelming and they need help at the position, Lenny fits that bill. Fournette can catch passes too, and that only gives him additional perceived value. Teammate James Cook will continue to play the most snaps at running back, but how much opportunity will Fournette vulture?

Antonio Gibson (WAS) – 41% Ownership

He is an injury away from getting a much larger workload and has been startable in deeper leagues: 10 receptions and eight rushing attempts over the last two weeks. Gibson is far removed from his RB1 days but in PPR formats he can provide low-end FLEX value, especially when the Commanders trail. In the last two games the Commanders have found themselves down and needing to catch up, Gibson saw over 50-percent of snaps in those contests.

Zach Charbonnet (SEA) – 30% Ownership

To the pain of Ken Walker managers, Charbonnet has seen 50-percent snaps over the last two weeks. While his snaps have increased when compared to his early season usage, Charbonnet has not touched the ball often with just 12 opportunities in his last two games. If he continues to play 50-percent of snaps he is worth adding. It would be difficult for managers to start Charbonnet because he has not done “it” from a fantasy perspective. If starter Ken Walker somehow gets banged up, Charbonnet’s value will sky rocket.

Ty Chandler (MIN) – 1% Ownership

Teammate Cam Akers tore his Achilles and is out for the remainder of the season, that moves Chandler back up the depth chart. Prior to Akers getting traded to the Vikings earlier this season, Chandler received minimal carries. Will that change now that Akers is done for the season? It seems unlikely but Chandler is worth stashing if you have an extra bench spot. The Vikings were not completely sold on starter Alexander Mattison getting the workhorse role and that mindset may give Chandler opportunities this time around.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Demario Douglas (NE) – 21% Ownership

Featured on this article last week and he followed that up with a modest 10.5-PPR points. Douglas will bring value in PPR formats compared to standard leagues. He will continue to get looks in this offense heading into Week 10 and the matchup looks great against the Indianapolis Colts.

Quentin Johnston (LAC) – 31% Ownership

He is the presumed WR2 now that teammate Joshua Palmer has been placed on injured reserved. The issue with being the WR2 in this offense is that it’s technically the third option within the passing attack. We saw that Monday against the Jets where Johnston had two receptions for 14 yards and one rushing attempt for two yards. Additionally, in his limited usage Johnston has been very inefficient. Johnston should be added but starting him will be hard to stomach based on recent trends.

Jameson Williams (DET) – 21% Ownership

Williams may be in position to play more following Detroit’s BYE week. He saw 40-percent of snaps over the last two games, and you should expect that to be higher. Detroit invested a first-round draft pick on Williams and they likely want to get him more involved than he has been.

Khalil Shakir (BUF) – 3% Ownership

Shakir’s usage has been more consistent since tight end Dawson Knox went down with an injury. 15.2-PPR points in Week 8 and Shakir followed that up with 9.7-PPR points in Week 9. Flex-worthy PPR player that can be started during these BYE weeks.

Noah Brown (HOU) – 1% Ownership

Monster 27-PPR point day in Week 9 and he should continue to get run in this offense with veteran Robert Woods injured. Brown shouldn’t be treated as fantasy gold, but he can be flexed as long as Woods is inactive

TIGHT ENDS

Jonnu Smith (ATL) – 27% Ownership

Continues to get plays drawn up for him, which is odd for a perceived TE2 on a team. His Week 9 ended with a 5/100/1 stat line, which churned out a huge 21-PPR point effort. Smith will more than likely not see a week like that going forward, but he has value in PPR formats. Since Week 4, Smith has finished with double-digit fantasy points in four-of-six games.

Taysom Hill (NO) – 39% Ownership

Hill has played extremely well over his last four games: 12.2, 16.8, 20.4 and 20.6 PPR points, respectively. For new fantasy players, Hill’s team gives him rushes, pass attempts and they throw him the football too. A rare combination of fantasy football triple dipping. Until a downtrend starts for Hill he is a weekly starter at the tight end position.

Trey McBride (ARI) – 44 % Ownership

If he’s somehow available in your fantasy league, scoop him up. In Week 8 he finished with 10/95/1 and followed that up with a dud, 3/22/0. That bad game was against a very tough defense, the Cleveland Browns. On top of his talent and opportunity, quarterback Kyler Murray is positioned to start in Week 10 and that helps this passing attack tremendously.

Hunter Henry (NE) – 20% Ownership

With injuries at the receiver position Henry’s role increased in Week 9. He saw seven targets and Henry finished with a 4/39/1 stat line for 13.9-PPR points. If the receiving core still has injuries then Henry will be in play once again in Week 10.
