QUARTERBACKS
Sam Howell (WAS) – 19% Ownership
Don’t look now but Howell has three straight weeks of 18-plus fantasy points. This week he gets to face the Giants and he is worth picking up for managers looking to stream. Howell has the fifth most pass attempts, seventh most air yards, and ninth most passing yards.
Derek Carr (NO) – 15% Ownership
Carr seems to be allergic to 20-plus fantasy point outputs, but he has two solid games in a row if you are looking to stream this week. His next four games are a cakewalk for quarterbacks too; he will have a tough home test against Jacksonville, after that its @IND, CHI, and @MIN. Carr should be very helpful in 2QB/SFLX leagues during this four-game stretch.
Baker Mayfield (TB) – 20% Ownership
Mayfield is a consistent QB2 for your fantasy team. He put up a dud against an elite Lions defense but has looked solid for fantasy throughout the season. He faces the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7 and they just allowed Sam Howell (WAS) to score 18 fantasy points, which featured three touchdowns.
RUNNING BACKS
Roschon Johnson (CHI) – 42% Ownership
Missed Week 6 due to a concussion and should be back in Week 7. Chicago will likely try and get the run game going against the Raiders since Justin Fields is injured. Remember, this coaching staff prefers Johnson over Foreman and that is unlikely to change going forward.
Kareem Hunt (CLE) – 27% Ownership
The third game under his belt was his best. 12/47/1 on the rushing side in Week 6 and 3/24/0 on the receiving end for 16.1 PPR points. The Browns will continue to be run-first and Hunt as the team’s RB2 will be of value for fantasy managers.
Zach Evans (LAR) – 1% Ownership
Last man left standing it seems. Starter Kyren Williams is expected to miss Week 7; backup Ronnie Williams injured his knee and is expected to miss the next four weeks. Evans and veteran Royce Freeman are all that is left. Outside of the injury situation there is a not a lot of reasons to go after Evans. Freeman is worth buying and holding if Evans gets snatched up on waivers.
Elijah Mitchell (SF) – 27% Ownership
As of writing this it remains to be seen whether teammate Christian McCaffrey will miss time, or not. Mitchell gets a great usage boost if McCaffrey misses, and Mitchell is readily available on waivers. Even if McCaffrey returns, Mitchell may get more run in the offense to protect McCaffrey from being overused. In 2021 we saw Mitchell finish as the RB24 overall and he averaged 12.2-FPPG.
Chubba Hubbard (CAR) – 43% Ownership
Heading into a BYE week, Hubbard may be easier to get than he should be. Hubbard was thrust into a full workload last week after teammate Miles Sanders was sidelined with an injury. He finished that contest with a 19/88/1 rushing line while mixing in one reception. While Hubbard won’t be a three-down workhorse, he can be of value for 12-team managers rest-of-season, especially if Sanders continues to see his usage slip.
Craig Reynolds (DET) – 5% Ownership
Purely an injury addition if you are needing help at the position. Starter David Montgomery is expected to miss some time with his rib injury and backup Jahmyr Gibbs missed Week 6 with a hamstring injury. If Gibbs is back, Reynolds likely won’t get the needed usage.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Josh Downs (IND) – 32% Ownership
He was mentioned within this article last week and he delivered a flex-worthy performance: 5/21/1. The Colts took a while to get the offense going against Jacksonville and you should expect similar issues against Cleveland in Week 7. Down’s usage (151 routes ran, which is 38th) and target share (41 targets, which is 28th) garners value for fantasy managers despite tough matchups in the future.
Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG) – 5% Ownership
He continues to get targets. Robinson received eight in Week 6 and turned that into 62 receiving yards. He will continue to be featured in this offense, which seems to be moving in the right direction after a rough start.
Jameson Williams (DET) – 34% Ownership
Needs to be picked up in every fantasy league. He is still being worked into this offense, but we saw a huge touchdown catch from Williams in Tampa. A former first-round pick, he will become more and more integrated within a passing attack that averages the third-most yards per pass attempt and the 10th most pass attempts.
Rashid Shaheed (NO) – 14% Ownership
We finally saw his snap percentage reach above 75% for the first time this season. He will be a boom-bust type of player, but you can always throw him into a lineup and hope for a long touchdown; his average depth of target is 16.7 yards and he has the 10th-most deep targets in the NFL. His schedule is desirable too: JAX, @IND, CHI and @MIN over the next four weeks.
Rashee Rice (KC) – 30% Ownership
The lack of wide receiver is glaring within this offense. Rice seems like the easiest player to get going within this passing attack too. He saw his second-best snap count in Week 6 and has finished with double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games. Rice has the biggest ceiling for wide receivers on waivers.
TIGHT ENDS
Michael Mayer (LV) – 1% Ownership
81% snap percentage in Week 6 and the fantasy points may start to flow. It was career-high marks in Week 5 and then he nearly doubled them in Week 6 with six targets for 75 receiving yards. Mayer was a second-round draft pick out of Notre Dame and should be getting more run in this offense as the season progresses.
Jonnu Smith (ATL) – 14% Ownership
Smith seems to be a dude that gets targets in this offense. Since Week 2 he has had 6, 8, 6, 7, 7, and 5 targets. Prior to Monday Night Football, Smith is the TE8 overall since Week 2.
Luke Musgrave (GB) – 18% Ownership
On BYE in Week 6, but he saw six targets for 34 yards against the Raiders in Week 5. The rookie gets looks in this offense and garners interest in deeper formats, since Week 3 he has accumulated 13 targets.
