UFC Fight Night DraftKings Picks Preview Magomedov Strickland
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I am taking some big shots this week! But if you aren’t, what are you doing with your life??? Give a brother a follow and keep up with the picks in real time! @therealgc9
Sean Strickland $8500 vs. Magomedov $7700
Sean Strickland fight week, so you know, at the least, we have had some entertaining press conferences. Sean has a wicked pace and has competed with some of the best the UFC offers. His split decision loss to Cannonier has aged well, as we saw what Jared did to Vetorri recently in their 5 round fight. This is a great one to stack in cash and worth investing heavily in for GPP/MME contests. Before going into the dog, Strickland can get the wrestling going and get over 150 strikes in a 5-round fight. He has scored 118, 93, and 144 in his last three wins. But what do you know? He is fighting an unknown OV who looks like a murderer on film.
Recently Magomedov cut through Stoltzfuz like butter (R1 TKO, 19 sec). Abus did lose to Louis Taylor, but that was an error on his part, which resulted in a quick submission loss (PFL). Again, these OV dudes have great coaching and will only get better after losses. Abus is no exception because he has finished all three of his opponents with submission since the loss and TKO wins. Magomedov is the real deal, and at $7700, the price is too juicy not to jump on it. I will ensure I have over the field on both fighters because this fight looks like DK GOLD.

Damir Ismagulov $8200 vs. Grant Dawson $8000
Before my conversation with Sniper yesterday, I was on the fence about who to pick in this fight. However, Snipe makes some good points in that Ismagulov retired in his last fight and is on the last fight of his contract. Someone told me the last time one of those situations ended in a great performance by the retired guy. I will wait…
Grant Dawson has the wrestling, pace, and talent to wear down Ismagulov and hit a DK score on the way to doing it. However, we should not write Damir off because he is a talent who is battle tested, but so was Cowboy! Anyways, I am feeling more confident by the day Dawson puts together a high-volume decision win, but I don’t want to miss the other side if Ismagulov comes out and looks like the favorite. I will elevate my ownership of both fighters, but the pick is Dawson.
UFC Fight Night DraftKings Pick: Dawson $8000
UFC Fight Night Betting:Dawson +1100 Submission Alexandr Romanov $8300 vs. Blagoy Ivanov $7900
Romanov has dropped two straight, but Ivanov is a nice get-right spot for him. Romanov could get the wrestling going and land a finish resulting in a good DK score. Romanov has scored 112, 134, and 67 in his last three wins. He is fighting Ivanov, who is 1-3 in his last four and is a decision machine who does not score over 100 in his wins, as his volume sucks. I am picking Romanov here and will go under Ivanov in case he surprises us. I want to ensure I have a little of both. I will make sure I am elevated on Romanov, though.
UFC Fight Night DraftKings Pick: Romanov $8300
UFC Fight Night Betting: Romanov +350 KO/TKO/DQ
Dog or Pass
Guram Kutateladze $9400 vs. Elves Oliveira $6800
Kutateladze is coming fresh from losing to Ismagulov (24-2). Guys like this who take a step up and lose are always guys I like to bounce back, especially when they are talented like Kutateladze. Also, the loss was a split decision, which tells me he belongs here and will only get better. He is fighting an Elves Oliveira, who is 3-2 in his last five fights and lost decisions in both (Lower promotions). He is not the worst dog shot after Oliveira’s three wins. Also, he is fighting a Kutateladze whose best chance of a good score in DK is a quick finish, but Oliveira has never been finished. That said, I will throw some pennies on Oliveira fade Kutateladze.
