Yahoo NFL DFS Cash Game Players for the 2 Game Main Slate

In general, when there are fewer games on a slate, cashing in double ups and head to heads will be more difficult than usual as more of the field is concentrated on a smaller pool of players. With that in mind, I would play less cash than usual on a small slate and play more tournaments.

With that said, let’s focus our Cash Game Player Pool with some high floor plays in plus matchups and sprinkle in some great fantasy points per dollar plays on this smaller slate.

Quarterbacks

Joe Burrow $37

If there’s a game on the slate that we can see going back and forth, it’s the AFC battle between Cincinatti and Kansas City. I like both Burrow and Mahomes in this matchup with Mahomes’ price being taken into consideration. Their player props are almost identical but Burrow doesn’t have any injury designation going into this game so he is the safer play.

Patrick Mahomes $33

If there’s a game on the slate that we can see going back and forth, it’s the AFC battle between Cincinnati and Kansas City. I like both Burrow and Mahomes in this matchup with Mahomes’ price being taken into consideration. Despite the high ankle sprain, Mahomes still has almost an identical projection as Hurts and at a $6 discount. FWIW, there have been videos of Mahomes not walking with a limp in the team facilities and he is practicing fully.

Running Backs

Christian Mccaffrey $38

If there is a slight weak spot in the Eagles Defense, it’s against the run. Brock Purdy has played exceptionally well but he hasn’t faced a defense like this, and Kyle Shanahan knows that his best chance to win is on the back of CMC for this one. CMC is day to day with a calf injury, and for that, I’m considering fading him again in tournaments in this tougher matchup, but he is the top RB play on the slate in cash games. Mitchell is also dealing with an injury, so if Mitchell sits, I like the play even more.

Joe Mixon $26

The best way to deal with a banged up offensive line from having issues protecting your QB is by running the ball. Cincy did that last week as they gave Mixon 22 touches, and they’ll look to do that again this week vs a KC team that you can run on. Mixon is projected for over 100 all-purpose yards this week via the Sharp App so I’m going right back to him in all formats. He’s my favorite RB play on the slate with his upside and price in the mid 20s.

Isaiah Pacheco $18

Both Pacheco and Mckinnon are the top 2 fantasy points per dollar plays this week via the Domination Station, but probably only one of them is going to produce in this game. You can make an argument for Pacheco as the Chiefs will want to help an injured Mahomes do as little moving around as possible.

Jerick Mckinnon $17

Both Pacheco and Mckinnon are the top 2 fantasy points per dollar plays this week, but probably only one of them is going to produce in this game. I expect Reid to scheme a lot of short passes for Mahomes and Mckinnon would be the beneficiary of that in the KC backfield. I think you need to have decent exposure to both in all formats.

DFS Winning Strategy

Wide Receivers

Ja’Marr Chase $37

Chase touts the top Wide Receiver projection this week for good reason as this game projects as back and forth, and the Bengals have handled the Chiefs the last two times that they squared off. Chase is my favorite $30+ Wide Receiver on this slate with KC sure to be a formidable opponent that is likely to push Cincinatti to score for the entire game.

Devonta Smith $27

Devonta Smith continues to be underpriced on Yahoo relative to his role as he’s averaged about 10.75 targets per game over the last month of the season and has double digit points spanning over the last 7 games. His 26% target share is almost identical to Brown’s and yet he’s $5 cheaper on Yahoo.

Deebo Samuel $20

Deebo has averaged 8 targets over the last 2 games and 3.5 attempts during both of those games. He’s the top Fantasy points per dollar play this week via the NFL Domination Station – DFS Army.

Kadarius Toney $15

Toney continues to be brought along more and more in the offense as we saw last week when he got 7 targets. Both MVS and Juju got only 2 targets last week and have similar over/unders as Toney this week, so I’ll lean Toney with the recent volume, his skillset, and the fact that the Chiefs made the in-season trade to acquire him. All Wide Receivers in the KC offense are tournament viable, however.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce $35

Kelce is a WR1 with a TE designation and projects very well again this week. In Cash, I’m paying down but Kelce is a great play here in all formats. The Projections in the Sharp App agree as well.

Dallas Goedert $19

DFS Army’s Top Fantasy points per dollar play this week at Tight End.

Hayden Hurst $14

We used Hurst as our paydown TE option last week and he smashed. I’ll ride with him again this week in Cash based on how great the rest of my lineup looks by doing so.

Defenses

Kansas City Chiefs $13

Both Kansas City and Cincinatti are tied for the top Fantasy Points Per Dollar play this week. Cincinatti is banged up on the offensive line and Mahomes is banged up, so his mobility is limited. I think both options could hit so I’ll have exposure to both.

Cincinatti Bengals $10

Both Kansas City and Cincinatti are tied for the top Fantasy Points Per Dollar play this week. Cincinatti is banged up on the offensive line and Mahomes is banged up, so his mobility is limited. I think both options could hit so I’ll have exposure to both.

Yahoo NFL DFS Tournament Plays

If listed in Cash, they’re tournament viable as well. However, in my GPP player pool, I tend to focus on adding lower owned players who have more variance from week to week and/or might not have the best matchup but have the talent to exceed projections by a lot and produce a ceiling outcome needed to take down a GPP.

Jalen Hurts $39

Most of the talk this week is that the 49ers/Eagles will be a grind it out game and that the Chiefs/Bengals game will be the high scoring game. That is probably the case, but the game totals are close and there’s the chance that the NFC game ends up being the higher scoring game with Mahomes being hobbled. I’ll have plenty of exposure to Hurts in tournaments this week and I like a combination of QB + 1 and QB + 2 stacks. AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and even Quez Watkins are in play for me.

Elijah Mitchell $19

From strictly a leveraging ownership standpoint, I think you need to have some exposure to Mitchell in case CMC reinjures his Calf and Mitchell ends up getting the bulk of the workload. Mitchell is nursing an injury as well, so don’t get crazy with your exposure to Mitchell.

Samaje Perine $16

Perine got 7 rushing attempts last week and 5 receptions. Especially if KC’s pass rush is getting there, there’s always the chance that Burrow dumps off a lot to Perine and he could make value at his $16 salary. GPP only play for me.

Kenneth Gainwell $12

He went for 112 yards and a touchdown last week on only 12 attempts. Slim to zero chance that he repeats that kind of performance vs a really good SF defense, but at only $12 on a 2-game slate, he doesn’t have to.

A.J. Brown $32

Cue the Stud coming off of a Dud narrative. San Fran has a really good Run Defense and is best attacked through the air – as they give up 2.72 points above average to the WR Position. Brown can be the number one WR on any slate – especially a small one like this.

Tee Higgins $22

Higgins is due for some positive regression. When he has a good game, he’s good for 19-25 points and that would definitely be enough to be in the nuts on this 2-game slate. He’s definitely in play in both sides of the KC/Cin stacks.

Brandon Aiyuk $18

Really tough matchup for Aiyuk but I wouldn’t mind having a little bit of exposure to him as a bring back in Hurts’ stacks as a way to differentiate your lineup.

Tyler Boyd $17

We never know when Boyd is going to smash, but he’ll go off for 25 every now and then, so he’s a GPP only play in burrow stacks.

Quez Watkins $11

He’s had a few games with double digit points this year and at $11, that’ll be enough to be in the winning lineup.

George Kittle $24

Purdy has a really tough matchup this week and Kittle has the fourth worst fantasy points per dollar projection for all 4 starting tight ends, but he’s still a stud so he’s in the GPP only mix for me.
