Ivana Knoll, former Miss Croatia, took to Instagram after her country sent World Cup favorites and South American juggernauts, Brazil, packing this weekend.
After Brazil hit the post in their final penalty kick vs Croatia, Knoll posted a video mocking their “pigeon dance” goal celebration. She also made a HUGE promise if Croatia goes on to win the World Cup (scroll down to see her promise).
Croatia may be establishing themselves as contenders on the pitch, but their “hottest fan” is making waves off the pitch, too.
Ivana Knoll has been posing in racy clothing that emulates the Croatian uniforms and country flag. These photos have caused quite the stir in Qatar, known for a very strict dress code. Knoll has been accused of being “disrespectful. The men of Qatar have been so “outraged,” (feel the air quotes here) they have taken their own pictures to prove their disgust…
FIFA World Cup Dress Code
The host nation, Qatar, has been outspoken in its wishes for tourists to respect local culture, including wearing clothing that covers the shoulders and knees.
Knoll has not been adhering to said dress code and was actually “shocked” to learn of such a strict requirement. “First I was thinking if the World Cup is happening there, they for sure will allow everything to make it comfortable for all fans without any of their restrictions,” she said. “Then I heard about the rules and I was shocked. In the dress code, you’re forbidden from showing your shoulders, knees, belly and neck.
“I was like, ‘OMG, I don’t even have clothes covering that all.’”
So, she has been taking her chances, and the results have been eye-catching…
Ivana Knoll’s “Promise” to Croatian World Cup Fans
With all this dress code controversy, Ivana Knoll is prepared to go all the way. She was quoted in German media saying she will “drop the flag,” hinting at posing nude, if Croatia wins the World Cup. Other reports have her denying that quote. Fans of Knoll will have to wait with baited breath, and root like hell for Croatia to win the World Cup to find out.
