Waiver Wire Adds Drops for Week 7 NFL Season Long Fantasy Football | DFS Army

Every week we will be breaking down the top waiver wire adds for your season long fantasy football leagues. This article will highlight some of the key players to target in week 7 and the recommended Free Agent Auction Budget (FAAB) you should spend. Check out the video to get a more detailed breakdown and a deeper list of players.

Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Targets

Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants 5-8% FAAB

Wan’Dale Robinson played his first game since week 1 and was impactful scoring a touchdown to help the Giants get the win against Baltimore. Robinson had limited usage which isn’t surprising since he missed the last month to a knee injury.  Despite only playing on 23% of snaps, he caught 3 of 4 targets including the touchdown. It would be reasonable for the Giants to continue to ease Robinson back into game shape as the trust continues to grow. The Giants drafted Robinson relatively high in the draft this year at pick 2. 11 so they will want to get him into the regular rotation sooner rather than later. In college Robinson was a target machine earning 39.3% of targets in 2021 which is a 99th percentile target share. His shifty play and ability to get open should pay dividends as Robinson continues to mature this season.

Tyquan Thornton, New England Patriots 3-6% FAAB

Tyquan Thornton was drafted at pick 18 in round 2 of the 2022 NFL draft because of his burning speed. He ran a 4.28 40 yard dash which is in the 100% percentile. We saw this week though that he has more skills in his tool belt to help the Patriots. Thornton found the endzone in both the receiving and run game. I’ll be the first to admit that I was skeptical that Thornton would pay off his draft day price. If he can continue to be efficient, the Patriots roster is just waiting for a big player receiver to break out along with Jakobi Meyers. We know that DeVante Parker isn’t the long-term solution.

Running Back Waiver Wire Targets

James Cook, Buffalo Bills  1-2% FAAB

James Cook was given the backup role this week but still only managed to play on 14% of snaps. It’s clear that despite the high draft capital on Cook, the Buffalo coaching staff is reluctant to use him in games. The Buffalo Bills will be on their bye week in week 7 which is an opportune time to work the rookie along into a meaningful role on the offense. Devin Singletary is not a traditional work-horse type back at 5’7″, 203 LBS. Despite that, he is earning around an 85% snap share in the “important games” against tough opponents. James Cook showed an elite 6.6 yards/ carry in college along with a unique three down skill set despite his size. Cook is far more explosive than Singletary and could be that spark the Bills need for the second half of the season. The Bills are a smart coaching staff and will find a way to work in this dynamic, explosive player.
