Waiver Wire Adds Drops for Week 6 NFL Season Long Fantasy Football | DFS Army

Every week we will be breaking down the top waiver wire adds for your season long fantasy football leagues. This article will highlight some of the key players to target in week 6 and the recommended Free Agent Auction Budget (FAAB) you should spend. Check out the video to get a more detailed breakdown and a deeper list of players.

Wide Receiver & Tight End Waiver Wire Targets

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints  3-5% FAAB

The landscape of the Tight End position is, as it usually is, abysmal in 2022. If you spent up in your drafts and picked up either Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews, you find yourself in good shape. Otherwise, every single week is a struggle.  Most players are boom or bust, and the bust weeks aren’t even that impressive. For these reasons, we are officially suggesting adding Taysom Hill off the waiver wire. It’s no secret that Hill doesn’t play the traditional tight end position which may worry you. We saw in week 5 though just how explosive his upside could be throwing for a touchdown and rushing for three more. Taysom Hill is a “plug your nose” type player but in the end, he produces fantasy points.

Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts  2-4% FAAB

The Indianapolis Colts do not look great and Matt Ryan looks like his better days are behind him. Ryan is still passing the ball close to 40 times per week though which is going to present opportunities for the pass catches in the Colts offense. The rookie Alex Pierce is starting to emerge as the second receiving target on the field behind Michael Pittman. Pierce received the most targets of his career last Thursday with 9. He caught 8 for 81 yards but also acted as a chain mover for Matt Ryan. Pierce is worth a speculative add this week.

Running Back Waiver Wire Targets

Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks  50-75% FAAB

If you have been following the waiver wire columns this season you may have noticed that we have recommended patience when managing your waiver budget. Every season there are one or two players that are true league winners that are worth spending all of your FAAB budget on. Kenneth Walker is that player. Rashaad Penny is unfortunately out for the rest of the season with a fractured fibula which will open up the backfield for Walker. We saw the explosiveness this week with the 69 yard touchdown run. Spoiler alert, Walker was known for his explosive plays in college. In 2021, Walker had 30 carriers of 15+ yards, 1,168 yards after contact and 89 missed tackles forced (per PFF). He possesses a 99th% college dominator which accounts for a running backs’ percentage of team’s rush yards and rush touchdowns. Walker was also in contention for the Heisman trophy and finished 6th in voting. Walker is a true game changer and with a month of NFL experience under his belt and no true backfield competition, it’s wheels up!
