Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Philadelphia Phillies (+125) @ Atlanta Braves (-145)

Phillies – 3.3 IRT

Braves – 3.9 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll kick this day of postseason baseball off with the Phillies heading into Atlanta after taking game 1 of the series yesterday. They’ll follow that game up with Zack Wheeler taking the mound who is averaging 26.3 DraftKings points per game in three starts against the Braves this season which is very promising. He has a 26.9% strikeout rate on the season, on a short slate, he makes plenty of sense as an SP2 on DraftKings and a GPP option on FanDuel. There are a couple of Braves with BvP numbers against him with Ronald Acuna having three home runs and going a career 9 for 36 against him while Austin Riley, Matt Ilson, and Travis d’Arnaud all have home runs on him as well. Speaking of the Braves, they’ll send Kyle Wright to the mound in hopes to rebound from a bad start from Max Fried yesterday. Wright is the cheapest starting pitching option on both DraftKings and FanDuel but has pitched well as of late. On FanDuel, I think I’d rather just go to Wheeler but I suppose you can make a case for the couple hundred dollar savings you get on DraftKings as an SP2. J.T. Realmuto highlights the Phillies bats against him going a career 2 for 9, with both of those hits coming as home runs. I like jumping on the Nick Castellanos train again after a nice day yesterday… maybe he’s in for an October run.

PHI 5-star plays: Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber

4-star plays: Rhys Hoskins, JT Realmuto, Nick Castellanos

GPP Note: I don’t have an issue with some of these guys against Wright on a short slate.

ATL 5-star plays: Austin Riley, Ronald Acuna Jr.

4-star plays: Dansby Swanson, Robbie Grossman, William Contreras

GPP Note: The Braves look good here from top to bottom, even though we like Wheeler a good deal as well. The strikeouts will end up saving him.

nfl winning strategy

San Diego Padres (+165) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-196)

Implied Run Totals:

Padres – 3.0 IRT

Dodgers – 4.2 IRT

Rundown:

The Dodgers swooped in and grabbed game 1 last night and they’ll look to take advantage of Yu Darvish who takes the mound for San Diego tonight. Darvish has been good as of late with at least 40 FanDuel points in four of his last five games, but the matchup is still a tough one. He’s performed well against the Dodgers this season averaging 41.25 FanDuel points in four starts, so I do think he’s viable in all formats on both sites. Not to mention, he has a very nice 25.6% strikeout rate on the season. The Dodgers will counter him with Clayton Kershaw who also ended the season looking great with at least 40 FanDuel points in six straight games. Kershaw’s playoff struggles have always been a topic of discussion, but for DFS purposes he looks great here as the biggest favorite on the slate and has the highest strikeout rate on the slate as well at 27.8%.

SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado

4-star plays: Juan Soto, Brandon Drury, Jurickson Profar

GPP Note: The Padres are my least favorite offense on the slate, but they have some nice value options and Machado always looks good against lefties.

LAD 5-star plays: Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner

4-star plays: Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Gavin Lux

GPP Note: The Dodgers look great here, this lineup is so deep, and they mix in some nice value. They look great yet again.
