Defenses to Stream - Week 7 NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues.

We had a mixed-bag in Week 6’s article but made some HUGE picks by landing Carolina and Minnesota’s defenses; Chicago’s defense also played well. The defenses listed in Week 6 scored an average of 5.8 fantasy points.

New England D/ST vs Chicago Bears

Likely the stream of the week, New England’s defense has stepped up since starting quarterback Mac Jones sprained his ankle. Since that injury they have finished as the overall D/ST 7, 2 and 5, respectively. They are ranked third amongst all D/ST’s for total fantasy points scored in 2022 with a 10.2 FPPG.

In Week 7 they get the juicy task of taking on the Bears’ offense. In the last four weeks Chicago is allowing the second most points to opposing D/ST’s at 11-FPPG. Chicago has given away 10 turnovers on the season (tied fifth worst) and allows the most sacks per game at 3.83.

New England is tied for the seventh most sacks and has a top-six pressure rate by a defense. Additionally the Pats have forced the third most takeaways in the NFL with 12. New England is nearly must-start.

Denver D/ST vs New York Jets

Any time you get a great fantasy defense… like the Broncos… to play against Zach Wilson, you have to consider playing them. Wilson has played well over his last two games but he logged a two-interception game against the Steelers, on the road, in Week 4. Additionally, the Jets have given the ball away nine times this season and have allowed their quarterback to get sacked 14 times.

Denver has been very solid for fantasy D/ST’s. They are quietly tied for the seventh best D/ST on the season and average 8.2-FPPG. They get after the quarterback at a solid rate and have logged 19 sacks, top-six in the league, and they have secured seven turnovers on the season as well

It is surprising that this defense is so widely available. Next week, Week 8, you can start them as well; Denver will face the Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Lawrence has committed the third most turnovers as a player.

Tennessee D/ST vs Indianapolis Colts

Matt Ryan has been a gift to opposing defenses, but in Week 6 that luck ran out. I don’t mind going right back to the well with Tennessee’s D/ST in Week 7.

Ryan has fumbled 11 times this season and last week was the first time that, or a turnover, did not happen in 2022. Indy has gifted the second most turnovers (11) in the NFL and has allowed for the fifth most sacks as well. This game also projects to be a slower paced game, which should keep the scoring low.
