Defenses to Stream – Week 6 NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues. We had a mixed-bag in last weeks article, Week 5. The defenses listed to stream scored an average of 5.2 fantasy points.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (2) is sacked by Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Josh Allen (41) during the second quarter of a regular season game Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville. Minnesota D/ST @ Miami Dolphins –

***Late Addition to Article***

Available in Sleeper in 49% of Sleeper Leagues

Minnesota just became an easy streaming Defense to target with the Dolphins announcing they are planning to start their 3rd string rookie Skylar Thompson.

Jacksonville D/ST @ Indianapolis Colts

Available in 50% of Sleeper Leagues

Jacksonville is ranked 6th in FPPG amongst D/STs through five weeks. The Colts’ quarterback, Matt Ryan, has turned the ball over a league-high 10 times and gets sacked on 9.7-percent of drop backs. It’s no wonder he has fumbled 11 times (only losing three). Matt Ryan is a player to target for streaming defenses each week.

Chicago D/ST vs Washington Commanders

**Thursday Night Game**

Available in 93% of Sleeper Leagues

D/STs are finding their stride against the Commanders and quarterback Carson Wentz. Since Week 1, Washington has allowed D/STs to finish 17th, 11th, 2nd, 9th and 9th overall, respectively. The Commanders have also allowed 20 sacks on the season, one sack away from being the worst in the NFL. Wentz has committed seven turnovers this season too, fifth-most. This Thursday Night Football game is gross; the teams are gross; the game-total is gross; and yet, the grossness of this game puts the Chicago D/ST into play.

Cincinnati D/ST @ New Orleans Saints

Available in 83% of Sleeper Leagues

The Bengals defense is having a respectable season for fantasy football. They are just outside of the top-12 in FPPG compared to other D/STs. This is largely dependent on turnovers as Cincy has secured eight on the season, with just as many sacks as well. Their opponent committed two turnovers a week ago against the Seahawks and lead the league in turnovers with 13. Additionally, New Orleans allows the ninth-most sacks in the NFL. We have already seen two, top-3, D/ST finishes against the Saints. The Bengals are a fine streaming option in Week 6 as well.

Carolina D/ST @ Los Angeles Rams

Available in 97% of Sleeper Leagues

Matt Rhule got fired. A backup QB is starting in Week 6. The defensive coordinator got fired. But everything is fine for Week 6 on defense… I think? Truth be told the Rams’ offense has been horrid compared to expectations. Part of the reason can be explained by Matthew Stafford turning the ball over 10 times, a league high.

Crazy enough this Rams offense has allowed fantasy D/STs to score 81 total points this season (league worst). That is nearly 26-percent higher than the next team in line. In other words, the Rams allow an average of 16.2-FPPG to opposing D/STs, four more points per game than the next team. The Rams have clearly been a team to target D/STs against. There is obvious risk with Carolina’s D/ST since a backup quarterback will be starting for the Panthers. This would be a locked-in play if Baker Mayfield was starting (gross, I can’t believe I just said that).
