As I started tackling the Milly Maker by reviewing winning lineups and back testing, Kevin Allen’s words kept ringing in my head, “You need to replay old matchups in your head if you want to be successful. This should keep you up at night.”
Well, I think it’s safe to say that DFS Army VIP RapidFireXD was up late Saturday night doing just that as he was sleeping Sunday as his lineup was taking down the Milly Maker.
DFS Army has been off to an unbelievable start this year and it was incredible watching the discord go bonkers as Andy (RapidFireXD) was taking down the Milly Maker. The Back testing worked, the cheat sheets worked, the Domination Station dominated again. Let’s take a look at his winning lineup!
Stacking in The Milly Maker
As we saw multiple times in 2021 Milly Maker winners, smaller stacks from multiple games continuously rose to the top of the Leaderboards. The QB double stack with a bring back was rarely found near the top of the Leaderboards, but DFS Army subscribers knew that as ‘The Geek’s’ Backtesting streams showed Members just what worked last year and RapidFireXD was all over it to bring it home in Week 1.
Mahomes + Kelce = 67 Points
Stack Price: $14,300
Stack Ownership: 26.24%
Secondary Stacks
Gibson + Kirk = 47.7 Points
Stack Price: $10,900
Stack Ownership: 20.53%
Jefferson + Doubs = 51.2 Points
Stack Price: $10,800
Stack Ownership: 20.47%
With all the moving parts in the KC Offense this past offseason, the two constants were Mahomes and Kelce, and they showed up big in Week 1; The Chiefs had the Cardinals in trouble early & Arizona never made it a competitive game, so game stacks were not in play here. This team stack of QB + Pass Catcher continued the trend of small team stacks that we saw dominate most weeks in 2021.
RapidFireXD had two secondary stacks in his lineup as well with Jefferson & Doubs in the Green Bay & Minnesota game, and Gibson and Kirk in the Jacksonville and Washington Game.
Both secondary stacks averaged about $10,850 salary, 20% ownership, and about 50 points total.
Three stacks with a combined 6 players was fairly consistent with what we saw most weeks in 2021 as there were 5 weeks with 3 stacks consisting of 6 or more players.

$1,000,000 Milly Maker Ownership
Mahomes | 9.06% |
Barkley | 14.18% |
Gibson | 9.34% |
Doubs | 7.94% |
Pittman | 27.05% |
Kirk | 11.19% |
Kelce | 17.18% |
Jefferson | 12.53% |
Steelers | 3.01% |
Total | 111.48% |
111% is definitely significantly higher than I expected to win a contest of over a Million entries, but this is a reflection of the chalk smashing and that will happen from time to time. We had 7 weeks in 2021 with Ownership totals being higher than 110% so this total – while higher than the 2021 average – falls right in the normal range of outcomes.
Leverage
Saquon Barkley at 14%
Top scoring RB on the slate? Check. Underpriced? Check. Less ownership than Christian McCaffrey? Check. Barkley wasn’t low owned but RB ownership was spread out and he absolutely smashed at his salary so you weren’t winning the Milli Maker without him. Luckily DFS Army was all over it.
Gibson at 9%
Gibson was leverage off of chalkier backs like Aaron Jones, Najee Harris, CMC, And Austin Ekeler. (All above 10%)
Justin Jefferson at 12.53%
Honestly, I was shocked he wasn’t higher owned than 12%. DFS Army had him as the best play on the entire slate and he was a lock in all formats at 12%. Jefferson was leverage off of chalkier plays like Marquise Brown at 17% and Juju at 18%.
Steelers DST at 3%
This was the top leverage play on the slate at the highly volatile DST position. The Domination Station kept cramming the Steelers D into my lineups and I’m glad it did, but nobody was happier about it than DFS ARMY VIP, RapidFirexd. This DST was leverage off of the Dolphins, Ravens, Commanders, Bears, and every other Team’s DST.
Pricing and Value from the Milly Maker Contest
Mahomes | $7,700 | 4.92X |
Barkley | $6,100 | 5.96X |
Gibson | $5,800 | 3.44X |
Doubs | $3,000 | 2.93X |
Pittman | $5,500 | 5.47X |
Kirk | $5,100 | 4.05X |
Kelce | $6,600 | 4.40X |
Jefferson | $7,800 | 5.43X |
Steelers | $2,400 | 10.83X |
Total | $50,000 | 5.02X |
One trend you’ll notice with Milly Maker winners is you rarely have 9K Players in the lineup. Rather, you’ll have 1-2 Studs in the 7k range, several studs in the 5-7K range, and 1-2 outstanding value plays. You have that here with Mahomes & Jefferson in the 7k range, Barkley, Pittman, Kelce, & Kirk in the 5-7K range, and the $2400 Steelers DST paying 10X on their salary.
Gotta Grab Ceiling Plays to Win $1,000,000
The $5 Milly Maker had almost 1.2 million entries, so a score of 220 wasn’t taking down this contest. 250 Points was the target and a ceiling of 27.7 points per position is needed to hit that target. With players like Mahomes, Kelce, Barkley, and Jefferson, Andy knew he had enough heavy hitters for these players to not only average 27.7 points, but to hit much closer to their ceiling, thus bringing lower ceiling players along with them like Doubs. The 4-player combination of Mahomes, Kelce, Barkley, and Jefferson combined for 145 of the 251 points, and averaged 36.5 points. This is really the kind of ceiling you’re looking for from your top players so that you have a shot to be in ‘the nuts’ with your other 5 positions averaging 25 points.
