With the fantasy football season quickly approaching, NFL fans witnessed a scary scene last night. During the first quarter of the Jets’ preseason game, quarterback Zach Wilson injured his knee while scrambling out of the pocket and heading up field. You can see the non-contact injury below.

Anyone who has watched enough sports has seen this scary situation unfold. It’s always hard to watch and it feels like the whole stadium hangs on a single breath. Luckily the first news from the Jets was that Wilson’s ACL is intact after physical examination.

There will be more official news coming out once Wilson receives his MRI on Saturday, but for now Wilson looks to have avoided a serious knee injury. It seems that Wilson reinjured the same knee as last season, and potentially in the same area too, according to the Fantasy Doctors’ injury history database.
Zach Wilson
Here’s his medical history.
Last year it was the same right knee he sprained his PCL.
Could he have resprained it?
Yes, & he was at higher risk due to of previous injury, but this is not the most common mechanism for a PCL injury. pic.twitter.com/z1Hy2cN7PK

Best case scenarios have Wilson missing time, but he could be ready for the regular season. Nevertheless, the Jets do not believe that Wilson has been lost for the season.
I’ve heard 2-3 weeks best case, 4-6 worst case. He will miss time. The #Jets & Zach Wilson do not believe he is missing the season.
Jets spooked after Becton, which is why they’ve taken this stance. Truly awaiting the confirmation tomorrow, but fans can go to sleep with hope https://t.co/E29Y5uW21l

In season-long formats managers will have to account for this injury as their draft approaches. If you have already drafted your team, holding Wilson would be advised until you know the full extent of his injury. Dynasty managers seem to be in a good place since Wilson looks to have avoided major injury.
Stay tuned on Saturday for the MRI findings of Zach Wilson’s injury.
