Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Colorado Rockies (+117) @ Miami Marlins (-138)

Implied Run Totals:

Rockies – 3.8 IRT

Marlins – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the slate as Kyle Freeland takes the mound heading into Miami to face the Marlins. Freeland hasn’t been great this season but does have at least 15.9 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. I think we can do better on this slate, but I guess I won’t talk you off of him in tournaments, but the strikeout rate just isn’t there at just 15%. Braxton Garrett will start for the Marlins and gets a similarly nice matchup, as the Rockies can’t hit their way out of a paper bag on the road. That being said, I don’t think Garrett is all that great quite yet, so probably not a guy that I’ll get to on this slate.

 COL 5-star plays: CJ Cron

4-star plays: Connor Joe, Brendan Rodgers

GPP Note: I don’t think Garrett is great, but I just don’t like targeting the Rockies on the road.

MIA 5-star plays: Jon Berti, Jorge Soler

4-star plays: Garrett Cooper, Jesus Aguilar

GPP Note: I think the Marlins could be sneaky on this slate, I just don’t love full-stacks in this ballpark.

San Francisco Giants (+137) @ Atlanta Braves (-162)

Implied Run Totals:

Giants – 4.3 IRT

Braves – 5.4 IRT

Rundown:

The Giants will send Alex Wood to the mound in a tough matchup against the Braves on the road. Wood had a rough game last time out against the Pirates and seems a bit overpriced to me in this one, especially on DraftKings. Kyle Wright will start for the Braves and this Giants lineup doesn’t scare me all that much. Wright has been really good this season and has a 27.4% strikeout rate which gives him a huge ceiling, he’s a guy that I’ll like in all formats.

SFG 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Joc Pederson, Brandon Belt

GPP Note: I like Wright more than any of these Giants batters.

ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley

4-star plays: Dansby Swanson, Marcell Ozuna

GPP Note: The Braves will look like a great stack here against a lefty at home.

Chicago Cubs (-118) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (-101)

Implied Run Totals:

Cubs – 4.5 IRT

Pirates – 4.3 IRT

Rundown:

The Cubs will send Justin Steele to the mound in a nice matchup against the Pirates in a big pitcher’s park. If you’re desperate I can see making a case for Steele at this price tag, the matchup sets up well and he’s been solid enough this season. Jose Quintana will start for the Pirates and just isn’t a guy that’s been all that good for DFS this season. The Cubs had a big night offensively against Eickhoff last night and I think they look good again in this one.

CHC 5-star plays: Willson Contreras, Patrick Wisdom

4-star plays: Christopher Morel, Ian Happ

GPP Note: I like the idea of a Cubs stack against Quintana here.

PIT 5-star plays: Oneil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds

4-star plays: Ke’Bryan Hayes

GPP Note: The Pirates would be more of a mini-stack team if you wanted to get to them.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-205) @ Cincinnati Reds (+170)

Implied Run Totals:

Dodgers – 5.4 IRT

Reds – 3.8 IRT

Rundown:

Clayton Kershaw will take the mound in a nice matchup against the Reds. That being said, I don’t love starting pitchers in this ballpark… but pitching is pretty weak on this slate, so Kershaw and his 27.2% strikeout rate are going to look like a nice option in all formats. Hunter Greene will start for the Reds and probably won’t be a guy I get to all that much here. We know the upside is there for him as we saw against Arizona a few starts ago, but so is the downside against this elite offense in a small ballpark. He does have a 30.1% strikeout rate on the season, so if you want to take a shot at him shutting this lineup down in tournaments, I’d be okay with that.

LAD 5-star plays: Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner

4-star plays: JWill Smith, Max Muncy, Justin Turner

GPP Note: I have no issue full stacking against Greene in a great ballpark for offense.

CIN 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Tommy Pham

GPP Note: I’ll have a good amount of Kershaw on this slate.

Cleveland Guardians (+121) @ Minnesota Twins (-140)

Implied Run Totals:

Guardians – 4.7 IRT

Twins – 5.5 IRT

Rundown:

The Guardians will send Zach Plesac to the mound against a Twins team that had a big night last night. Plesac hasn’t been in great form and really, hasn’t been good all season. The Twins should get Buxton back in the lineup in this one which makes it an even worse matchup, he’s not a guy that I’ll have interest in here. Devin Smeltzer will start for the Twins against Cleveland who also had a big night last night. I don’t think I love him here, but pitching is pretty weak on this slate… probably still a no from me.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Amed Rosario, Franmil Reyes

GPP Note: I like the Guardians more as a mini-stack team.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa

4-star plays: Luis Arraez, Max Kepler, Alex Kiriloff

GPP Note: The Twins are a top stack on this slate for me.

St. Louis Cardinals (-120) @ Milwaukee Brewers (-103)

Implied Run Totals:

Cardinals – 5.0IRT

Brewers – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the main slate with Dakota Hudson taking the mound in Milwaukee against the Brewers. He’s already started two games against them on the season and is averaging just 6.1 DraftKings points per game. The price tag is a little high for me as well considering he has just a 13.4% strikeout rate on the year. The Brewers will send Jason Alexander to the mound in a tough matchup with the Cardinals. He’s another guy that won’t make my pitching pool… he has just an 8.0% strikeout rate in his four starts.

STL 5-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado

4-star plays: Tommy Edman, Nolan Gorman

GPP Note: The Cardinals look like a nice stacking option on this slate.

MIL 5-star plays: Christian Yelich, Rowdy Tellez

4-star plays: Willy Adames, Hunter Renfroe

GPP Note: I like the Cardinals side of this one slightly more, but the Brewers are still in play here.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Seattle Mariners (-134) @ Oakland Athletics (+114)

Implied Run Totals:

Mariners – 3.8 IRT

Athletics – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

This game isn’t on the DraftKings main slate, but it is on FanDuel where you get the nice option of Robbie Ray as your pitcher. This is an elite matchup with the A’s as they’ll continue to be a team that I stream pitching against this season. Ray is coming off of a big game last time out and will be a guy I go right back to in this spot. The A’s will start Frankie Montas on the other side of this one and looks like a solid option as well. He’s had a couple of rough starts as of late but this Mariners offense doesn’t scare me and he still has a 25.2% strikeout rate on the season.

SEA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Julio Rodriguez, Jesse Winker, Ty France

GPP Note: I’ll probably have more interest in the pitching in this game.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ramon Laureano

GPP Note: Same story here, I like Ray more than anyone in this A’s lineup.

Late MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Houston Astros (+114) @ New York Yankees (-132)

Implied Run Totals:

Astros – 4.1 IRT

Yankees – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

Onto the late games where Framber Valdez will match up against the Yankees on the road. Valdez has looked really good as of late with at least 16.1 DraftKings points in five straight games, so at least you know the floor is there. That being said, the matchup does suck against the Yankees in a small ballpark. I’d rather go here in tournaments, but at the same time, the rest of the pitching on this slate isn’t great. Jameson Taillon will start for the Yankees and has been in great form with at least 28.8 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. I don’t love the matchup, but he’s an option at the very least.

HOU 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jose Altuve, Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez

GPP Note: I don’t have a ton of interest in stacking against Taillon.

NYY 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo

GPP Note: Kind of the same story here, I like the offense, but Valdez is good at limiting the big inning.

Baltimore Orioles (+135) @ Chicago White Sox (-161)

Implied Run Totals:

Orioles – 4.1 IRT

White Sox – 5.1 IRT

Rundown:

Dean Kremer will start for the Orioles and likely won’t make my pitching pool on the late slate in a tough matchup with the White Sox. He’s been pretty good this season but he is due some major regression as his 2.35 ERA doesn’t quite reflect his xERA of 4.97. Johnny Cueto will start for the White Sox in a good enough matchup against Baltimore. Cueto is coming off of a big game last time out against Houston and is in play here at this price tag.

BAL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Cedric Mullins, Trey Mancini, Ryan Mountcastle, Adley Rutschmann

GPP Note: Baltimore will be more of a mini-stack team for me.

CHW 5-star plays: Luis Robert, Tim Anderson

4-star plays: Andrew Vaughn, Jose Abreu, AJ Pollock

GPP Note: The White Sox look like a great stack on the late slate.

Philadelphia Phillies (+131) @ San Diego Padres (-155)

Implied Run Totals:

Phillies – 3.5 IRT

Padres – 4.2 IRT

Rundown:

Ranger Suarez will start for the Phillies in this one as he heads into a big pitcher’s ballpark in San Diego. Suarez hasn’t really shown much of a ceiling this season but has been fine… I guess. I like his mound opponent much more, Joe Musgrove who is in a groove right now. He has at least 20.7 DraftKings points in five straight games. I don’t love the matchup with the Phillies, but he’s shown a great floor and ceiling and the Phillies get a significant park downgrade.

PHI 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber

GPP Note: One-offs only against Musgrove.

SDP 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Luke Voit, Jurickson Profar, Jake Cronenworth

GPP Note: Even though I won’t have a ton of interest in Suarez, I don’t really love this Padres stack either.
