Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Miami Marlins (+120) @ Philadelphia Phillies (-139)

Implied Run Totals:

Marlins – 3.6 IRT

Phillies – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll start in Philadelphia where Sandy Alcantara will take the mound for the Marlins. He’s been one of, if not, the best pitcher in baseball this season and has at least 28.7 DraftKings points in four straight games. He has a 24.1% strikeout rate on the season and even though this Phillies lineup has been hitting the ball well as of late, Alcantara will look like a nice pitching option in all formats. Aaron Nola will start on the other side and should set up as a pretty nice pitching matchup. Nola will look like a nice option as well and gets the better matchup of the two pitchers. He has at least 52 FanDuel points in two of his last three including a win in three straight games.

 MIA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jazz Chisholm

GPP Note: I’ll lean with the pitchers in this game.

PHI 5-star plays: Bryce Harper

4-star plays: Kyle Schwarber, Rhys Hoskins

GPP Note: I don’t want to stack against Alcantara, but this Phillies lineup has been hot enough where I think you can find some leverage one-off pieces.

Atlanta Braves (-160) @ Washington Nationals (+138)

Implied Run Totals:

Braves – 5.4 IRT

Nationals – 4.3 IRT

Rundown:

Ian Anderson will start for the Braves in a nice matchup with a below-average Nats lineup. Anderson hasn’t really been anything special this season, but he should set up well enough here to look like a decent SP2 option in this price range. Josiah Gray will get the ball for the Nationals and gets a tough matchup with this Atlanta team that is smoking the ball as of late. Gray has been solid enough, but I think we can do better on this slate, I don’t see a reason to target these Braves bats with an opposing pitcher.

ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr.

4-star plays: Matt Olson, Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley

GPP Note: Gray is a solid pitcher, but if you do like the Braves stack here I won’t talk you off of them due to their upside.

WAS 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Nelson Cruz, Luis Garcia

GPP Note: Similar to the Braves, Anderson is good enough where I don’t think I want to stack against him with a weak lineup, but I do think a mini-stack is in play with the middle of this order.

Baltimore Orioles (+247) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-310)

Implied Run Totals:

Orioles – 3.2 IRT

Blue Jays – 5.6 IRT

Rundown:

Kyle Bradish will take the mound for Baltimore in a really tough matchup with Toronto. The Blue Jays will look like one of the better stacks on the slate right off of the bat, so no real interest in Bradish and his 6.45 ERA. Alek Manoah will start for Toronto and looks like one of the top pitching options on the slate. He has a 1.81 ERA on the season to go along with a 22.3% strikeout rate and gets an elite matchup with a weak Baltimore lineup. His win equity is huge here as well as a -310 favorite.

BAL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Cedric Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle

GPP Note: Manoah is a guy I’ll get a lot of here, so not much from Baltimore for me.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: George Springer, Teoscar Hernandez, Gabriel Moreno

GPP Note: Love the Blue Jays here, they’ll look great in all formats.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Chicago White Sox (-125) @ Detroit Tigers (+105)

Implied Run Totals:

White Sox – 4.8 IRT

Tigers – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Lance Lynn will start for Chicago in a nice matchup with the Tigers on the road. That being said, this is Lynn’s season debut after being on the IL for the season… I would imagine he’s on some sort of pitch count or innings limit, so probably not a guy that I’ll be on tonight unless it comes out that he’s a full go. Rony Garcia will take the mound for Detroit and is a guy that has some regression coming, he has an xERA of 6.39 and this White Sox offense can take advantage of that, I’ll like that stack quite a bit which takes me off of Garcia although that 30% strikeout rate on the season is at least noteworthy.

CHW 5-star plays: Luis Robert

4-star plays: AJ Pollock, Andrew Vaughn, Jose Abreu, Jake Burger

GPP Note: I like the White Sox a good amount here and will likely be a top stack for me on this slate.

DET 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Austin Meadows, Jonathan Schoop

GPP Note: Lynn is a good enough pitcher to hold this offense down even if he’s only out there for a few innings.

Pittsburgh Pirates (+161) @ St. Louis Cardinals (-195)

Implied Run Totals:

Pirates – 3.9 IRT

Cardinals – 5.3 IRT

Rundown:

The Pirates will send Mitch Keller to the mound in a tough matchup with a good-hitting Cardinals lineup in a ballpark downgrade as they get out of Pittsburgh. He’s been solid enough as of late but I’ll still tend to fall on the Cardinals side of this one. Speaking of the Cardinals, they’ll send Zach Thompson to the mound in a nice matchup. He looked fine in his big league debut against the Cubs and is a guy I think we can make a case for as an SP2 if you have an expensive stack.

PIT 5-star plays: Bryan Reynolds

4-star plays: Ke’Bryan Hayes

GPP Note: Mostly a mini-stack team and one-offs due the talent of the lineup.

STL 5-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado

4-star plays: Tommy Edman, Nolan Gorman, Tyler O’Neill

GPP Note: The Cardinals will look like a great stack on this slate.

San Diego Padres (-131) @ Chicago Cubs (+111)

Implied Run Totals:

Padres – 4.6 IRT

Cubs – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

The Padres will send Yu Darvish to the mound in a revenge game against his old squad in what looks to be a potential wind game in Wrigley. Right now it looks like the wind will be blowing out to left-center at around 15 mph which will definitely boost the potential for home runs. Keep an eye on the Weather Channel as we get closer to lock for a better idea of what to expect here. Darvish has struggled a bit this season but has looked good as of late with at least 22 DraftKings points in three of his last four. Justin Steele will start for the Cubs and if this is truly a wind game at Wrigley, I will not have any interest in Steele.

SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado, Luke Voit

4-star plays: Jake Cronenworth, Jurickson Profar

GPP Note: The Padres could potentially look really nice here depending on how the wind plays out.

CHC 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Christopher Morel, Willson Contreras, Ian Happ

GPP Note: Darvish is a good enough pitcher that I don’t really want to stack against, but if the wind is truly blowing out then we can make a pretty good case for the Cubbies.

Houston Astros (-166) @ Texas Rangers (+140)

Implied Run Totals:

Astros – 5.1 IRT

Rangers – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

Christian Javier will start for the Astros and hasn’t been all that great lately, racking up a bunch of pitches in short innings… he’s given up 6 ER over his past two games (5 of them came last time out) that being said, I do think he’s viable here against a weaker Rangers team. The Rangers are striking out at a 22.9% clip which will make him look solid in this price range. The Rangers will send Taylor Hearn to the mound in a really tough matchup with the Astros, I don’t think we need to get cute with him here, he’s struggled with his command early on this season.

HOU 5-star plays: Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman

4-star plays: Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Michael Brantley

GPP Note: The Astros will look like a nice stack in all formats here.

TEX 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia

GPP Note: I don’t hate a mini-stack here if you think Javier continues to struggle.

Cincinnati Reds (+137) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (-161)

Implied Run Totals:

Reds – 4.1 IRT

Diamondbacks – 5.1 IRT

Rundown:

Mike Minor will start for the Reds as they head into Arizona. He has an 8.64 ERA on the season and has not passed the eye test, he won’t be a guy I get to tonight and will make the Diamondbacks bats look interesting at the very least. Merrill Kelly will start for the Dbacks in a great matchup against a weak Reds lineup. Kelly is coming off of a big start last time out in this exact matchup but gets a better pitcher’s park in this one, I have no issue getting to him in this price range.

CIN 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Joey Votto, Nick Senzel, Tommy Pham

GPP Note: I don’t mind some one-offs or a mini-stack, but will likely have at least a little interest in Kelly here.

ARI 5-star plays: Daulton Varsho, Christian Walker

4-star plays: Pavin Smith, David Peralta, Alek Thomas

GPP Note: The Dbacks look like a really nice stacking option on this slate… I do wish Ketel Marte was in there however.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Kansas City Royals (+150) @ San Francisco Giants (-176)

Implied Run Totals:

Royals – 3.5 IRT

Giants – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

Brady Singer will get the ball for the Royals as he heads into a nice pitcher’s park but the Giants have been pesky to opposing pitchers this season. That being said, Singer has been pretty solid on the season and is a guy I think we can make a case for as an SP2 in tournaments. Alex Wood will start for the Giants in a really nice matchup with this Royals lineup. I was really high on the Royals yesterday and ended up working well, I’ll be lower on them in this one as they head into a big ballpark against a solid pitcher. Wood will look like a nice option in all formats in this price range.

KCR 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez, MJ Melendez

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team than anything as they get a ballpark downgrade.

SFG 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Mike Yastrzemski, Wilmer Flores, Joc Pederson, Darin Ruf

GPP Note: I could be talked into a Giants stack, but I do think Singer is somewhat legit.

Minnesota Twins (+103) @ Seattle Mariners (-122)

Implied Run Totals:

Twins – 4.2 IRT

Mariners – 4.5 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate as Chris Archer heads into Seattle to take on the Mariners. Archer just doesn’t bring enough upside to the table to counteract his downside against a young Mariners lineup, he won’t be a guy I get much of on this slate even in a nice ballpark for pitching. The Mariners will send Chris Flexen to the mound and the Twins are smoking the ball right now… he’s been a fine option as of late, but I don’t think we need to force either pitcher in this game as an option.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton, Luis Arraez

4-star plays: Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco

GPP Note: I’ll like this Twins stack a lot more if Buxton is able to make his way into the lineup.

SEA 5-star plays: Jesse Winker, Julio Rodriguez

4-star plays: Ty France, JP Crawford

GPP Note: I think the Mariners could be sneaky here and will be a team I like for tournaments.
