Taco Tuesday: NASCAR 150 Lineup Approach

Approach

New to NASCAR, first thing I did was find associations with other sports that I have experience with in order to help make a smooth transition:

Research Station

If you play Golf, you will appreciate this comparison. If you look at Golf’s research station, it has course history . This category very helpful in finding value, sleepers and studs as it tells you both how well golfers history on that specific course. For example, you may find a 6200 player who has several top 10 finishes on that course, which tells you he could be a great play! Likewise, track history in NASCAR allows you to find the same things by looking at the history of drivers on the tracks they are racing.

Locking is Terrifying!

Just like Golf, NASCAR is so volatile that it is absolutely terrifying to lock 1 player as you could marry a person who crashes in lap 5, and your day is over.

Cheat sheet

Similar to PGA, the DFS Cheat sheets help you cut through a lot of the fade-able players and focus on specific plays according to educated analysis from experts. I use Taco’s Cheat Sheet to help me make my picks in conjunction with the research station.

Backtesting Last Week

Upon Backtesting 150 for last week’s slate, it was found that the nuts score was 366.75. I ran a backtest using the same player pool from last week (20 racers), used Taco’s notes, and elevated core plays to 80% Max ownership. Doing the elevation allowed me to get big investment into the studs without marrying one racer, which led to a nuts score of 366.75.

Attacking This week

Based on the Backtesting, I am going to repeat the same approach and ensure I am elevating all of Taco’s core plays and getting them 60-80%. Also, in finding value I will use a combination of Taco’s suggestions and the research station in order to analyze track history as there is bound to be value at the bottom based upon course history. Finally, I will be in the discord all day watching, reading and studying with the team in order to trim out my pool.

150 Tournament Lineups

Taco’s Cheat Sheet is used in order to execute the following steps:

  • Fade duds using the Cheat sheet notes
  • Research Station for Value
  • Player pool of 20-22
  • Cap All ownership at 60% , 80% Core Plays
  • 0% Randomization
  • 150 lineups
  • 1 unique
  • No Locks
capture

Research station is like a secret DFSA Weapon!

Goal

It is my goal that these reader friendly articles allow you to join me as I explore the world of DFS, and how to generate repeatable success across multiple sports. If you have any further questions regarding this approach, reach out to me in the discord or on my twitter.
