DFS NBA Full Court Press: FanDuel & DraftKings Main Slate – Mar. 31st, 2022

Main Slate Breakdown for NBA DFS 03/31:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Mike aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Philadelphia 76ers @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: Phi -10.5

We’ll kick this slate off starting with the Sixers, Joel Embiid has at least 60 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and should do whatever he wants against this Detroit frontcourt. He’ll look like one of the top spend-up options on this slate. James Harden has been fine as of late, but the big thing is his price has come down to a more playable range as of late. He’s going to play a ton of minutes and is a solid option at this price tag that comes with a massive ceiling if he’s having one of “those” nights. Tobias Harris has been surprisingly good as of late and will look like a solid secondary play if you fall in this price range. Tyrese Maxey hasn’t been so lucky, he’s been held under 30 FanDuel points in three straight games and will be more of a tournament guy. Then I think we can safely fade the rest of this team unless you want to ride the death trap rollercoaster that is Danny Green. From the Pistons, they’ll be without Jerami Grant again here along with Hamidou Diallo as expected, while Cory Joseph comes in as questionable. I do want to highlight a few players really quick that helped VIP Member “Cenzamatic” win $20,000 on Tuesday night – below is his winning lineup! Killian Hayes looked great and now has at least 31 DraftKings points in three of his last four games which makes his price tag look far too low especially if Joseph is forced to miss this one. Another guy that helped win the $20k was Isaiah Stewart having a really nice game in more secure minutes with Grant out. That should continue here and will look like a nice mid-range option. A guy I liked for GPPs was Kelly Olynyk hoping he would get more minutes with Grant out… he didn’t, however, he still put up 25 DraftKings points and will look like a solid tournament guy at this price tag again tonight. Cade Cunningham will continue to look like a solid option as well, and may find success as opposing teams hunt Harden on defense, he’ll look like a solid option in all formats on a shorter slate. Then we can round out the team with Saddiq Bey and Marvin Bagley as secondary options and should have their minutes stabilized with Grant out. The Pistons will also need their size against this Sixers team.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, James Harden, Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart

4-star play: Tobias Harris, Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Marvin Bagley

Deeper Value: Killian Hayes

GPP Sleeper: Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Olynyk

Below is Cenzamatic’s $20k winning lineup from Tuesday night, good work!

Milwaukee Bucks @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 238.0

Vegas Spread: Bkn -1.0

This game will come in with the highest implied total and the closest spread on the slate and should be very conducive to DFS production. We’ll get it started with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is a guy I like getting to in these games that are projected to stay close against big Eastern Conference teams. We saw it last time out against the Sixers, the game stayed close and he saw 38 minutes which is the most he’s seen since 2/17 against…. the Sixers. He sees bigger minutes in these games that matter more and have bigger conference implications and will be a guy I like quite a bit again here. Jrue Holiday has been in great form as well with at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games and will need to match Kyrie’s minutes in order to help defensively making him look like a nice option as well. Khris Middleton is averaging 39.3 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Nets this season and will look like a good secondary option as well. I’m going to continue to go to Brook Lopez if he’s going to be unowned and under $4k (the price is much better on DraftKings). He’s played at least 28 minutes in two of his last three games and has passed the eye test since coming back from injury. Oppositely, Bobby Portis has seen his minutes decrease as he’s moved back to the bench with Lopez back and is just overpriced right now. Then we can round this team out with Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton as GPP value options… maybe even Jevon Carter in a revenge game, he’s been playing good ball. From the Nets, Kevin Durant had a massive game against Detroit last time out and is averaging 56.3 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Bucks this season. He’ll look like a great spend-up option on this slate as he looks to battle it out with Giannis. Kyrie Irving has cooled off a bit since he’s been playing more consistently now that he can play home games. I don’t think I’ll be getting to him at this price tag… I think I’d just take the savings and get to James Harden in that first game personally. The Nets will need Andre Drummond’s size down low in this one and is averaging 49.3 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Bucks this season… with 31.1 minutes per game. Giannis will handle him down low, but they’ll still need his size and he’s an elite per-minute guy. Then the trio of Bruce Brown, Goran Dragic, and Seth Curry all look like solid GPP options, they’ve all had nice games against the Bucks in their careers. Not guys that I’ll prioritize but nice filler pieces at the very least.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant

4-star play: Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez (DraftKings), Kyrie Irving, Andre Drummond

Deeper Value: Brook Lopez (DraftKings), Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, Jevon Carter

GPP Sleeper: Brook Lopez (FanDuel), Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, Jevon Carter, Bruce Brown, Goran Dragic, Seth Curry

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Atl -5.0

Starting with the Cavs, they’ll be without Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen again here, and Kevin Love was a guy that I loved early on yesterday as I assumed he would get the start, but the Cavs went a different direction and started Moses Brown. Brown played 21 minutes and had a nice fantasy night, if he starts again he’ll look like a nice value option. Below is how this team operates with these two off of the court this season:

Love will be a GPP play only again assuming the Cavs roll out the same starting five as we saw last night. On the off chance that Love starts, he’ll look like a great option as his minutes become more secure. I do want to bring up Caris LeVert as well, he’s played at least 33 minutes in three straight games and had a huge game last night. He’ll look like a great option in an awesome matchup here. The price tag is up on Darius Garland but he’s played at least 40 minutes in three of his last five games and will be a solid GPP option, his price is much more doable on FanDuel where he’s just under $1k cheaper. From the Hawks, Trae Young will continue to look like a great option, as he’s been in great form as of late with at least 57 FanDuel points in three of his last five games and is under $10k on FanDuel. He’s a better DFS scorer on DraftKings due to the three-point bonus over there, but that’s baked into the price tag, he’s a great play on both sites. Clint Capela came back down to Earth last night and saw just 20 minutes against the Thunder. He’d be more of a GPP guy for me, but this is a bigger Cleveland frontcourt in which they’ll need his size down low. Bogdan Bogdanovic will look like a solid secondary option again here, as will Danilo Gallinari who is getting consistent run with John Collins still out of the lineup. Lastly, Kevin Huerter has at least 31 DraftKings points in four of his last five and will look like a solid secondary option to round out the Hawks.

5-star play: Caris LeVert, Trae Young

4-star play: Darius Garland, Lauri Markkanen, Moses Brown (if starting), Bogdan Bogdanovic, Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Huerter

Deeper Value: Moses Brown

GPP Sleeper: Kevin Love, Lauri Markkanen, Clint Capela, De’Andre Hunter

Los Angeles Clippers @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 223.0

Vegas Spread: Chi -3.5

Starting with the Clippers, we saw Paul George return to the lineup last time out and played 31 minutes in a big game against the Jazz. I have no issue going right back to him here at a cheap price tag against a bad defense. He has a 35.7% usage rate and 1.42 fantasy points on the season and I would think they want to get him ramped up for the playoffs, so he should see another 30+ minutes here. Supposedly Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris are under a minutes restriction but Jackson played 37 minutes and Morris played 27 last time out… I’m just going to fade them going forward unless their price tags come crashing down since I don’t think we can trust what comes out of Ty Lue’s mouth. The only other guys I would have interest in from the Clippers are in the frontcourt with Isaiah Hartenstein and Ivica Zubac. Hartenstein is starting to play more consistently in the 25-minute range and has at least 31 DraftKings points in four straight games while Zubac has been held under 25 minutes in five straight. It seems like they’ve flipped roles over the past couple of weeks making Hartenstein my preferred fantasy option. From the Bulls,  Zach LaVine has been extremely volatile as of late and will continue to be a GPP guy for me here. That being said, with him being back to looking fully healthy it will be hard to determine which of him and DeMar DeRozan will have the big night on a daily basis. They’ll both look like solid secondary options here, but it is nice to see the price tag on DeRozan come down, and has at least 50 DraftKings points in back-to-back games.  I won’t have any issue getting back to Nikola Vucevic here either, he’s been a pretty consistent producer all season long. The price tag on Alex Caruso has come up a bit but will continue to see around 30 minutes if you need a lineup filler. Then we can round this team out with Patrick Williams who could be an interesting GPP flyer… he’s near min price and is coming off his most minutes since returning from injury. He hasn’t been a big per minute guy on the season which is why I call him a flyer but is a high-end draft pick that they want to get some action before the playoff start.

5-star play: Paul George

4-star play: Isaiah Hartenstein, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic

Deeper Value: Patrick Williams

GPP Sleeper: Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac, Terance Mann, Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine

Los Angeles Lakers @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 225.0

Vegas Spread: Utah -12.5

Starting with the Lakers, they’ll be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis again here while Wenyen Gabriel comes in as questionable. We saw Stanley Johnson and Dwight Howard get the start last time out and would expect that’s the lineup we get again here. The Lakers will need a legitimate big man to deal with Gobert down low. Below is how the Lakers operate with these two off of the court this season:

Howard started the last game and only played 5 minutes… I don’t think they’ll be able to do that here unless they try and make the Jazz go small. Either way, I don’t think I’ll want Howard in anything other than MME due to his volatility. Westbrook and Monk will be my favorite options here with Anthony and Gabriel being secondary options assuming he plays. I do like Johnson assuming he starts again however, he looked great last time out. From the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert should be able to do whatever they want against this Lakers defense and both look like really nice options tonight. Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson are priced similarly, however, I would probably split them up and go Clarkson in tournaments while Conley is your cash game guy. That’s really about it from the Jazz for me, if Bojan Bogdanovic ends up playing he’ll likely be limited and Royce O’Neale isn’t a good enough per minute guy for me to have a whole lot of interest.

5-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert

4-star play: Russell Westbrook, Malik Monk, Carmelo Anthony, Stanley Johnson, Wenyen Gabriel, Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson

Deeper Value: Stanley Johnson, Wenyen Gabriel, Dwight Howard

GPP Sleeper: Dwight Howard, Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale

NBA Lock of the Day: Caris LeVert (DK – $5.8k; FD – $5.2k)

I’m going to go right back to the Cavs for my lock of the day, this time, Caris LeVert. They’ve taken the safety off of LeVert over the past week and he’s played at least 33 minutes in three straight games. They get an elite matchup with a bad Hawks defense here and LeVert has a 25.7% usage rate with 1.02 fantasy points per minute with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen off of the court this season. He’s just underpriced compared to his median production and is an elite guy for me tonight. At this point in the day, I would think he makes my core, but check out our VIP Cheat Sheets as we get closer to lock for staff picks on Core plays, 8x locks of the day, and tiers notes as well!
