DFS NBA Full Court Press: FanDuel & DraftKings Main Slate, January 16th

1/16 NBA DFS Full Court Press

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Steve aka @Mutt18 on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. We also have NEW pricing options, where you can sign up for WEEKLY access as opposed to be committed for a full month, so you have no excuse to try us out! With that said, let’s get it started!

Phoenix Suns @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: Phx -11.5

This is going to be my least targeted game of the day, the Suns should handle business here as this Pistons team is still pretty shorthanded. Your main target from the Suns is going to be their big 3, with one being Devin Booker, as he’s been their most consistent performer and has the highest upside. Chris Paul is solid if you are playing cash as well as he’s been consistent his whole career. Deandre Ayton also has a good matchup tonight, as this Pistons frontcourt is still banged up and undersized. If you’re looking to get different in GPPs, Mikal Bridges has upside from time to time, and if you think this game blows out you can get some Cameron Payne and Cameron Johnson for deeper MME type plays. UPDATE: Cam Johnson has been ruled out, this is a bump to Bridges and Jae Crowder

Now for the Pistons, your main target here is going to be Cade Cunningham as he is still too cheap on FanDuel for whatever reason, and Saddiq Bey isn’t too far behind him. Bey has been another bright spot on this Pistons team and he’s decently priced on both sites. Cory Joseph is a guy you can look to to get different here, as they trust him late in games and he’s dirt cheap on both sites as well. Isaiah Stewart and Trey Lyles have been splitting minutes at the 4/5 as well and both are in play here as well, but I wouldn’t dig too deep into this game.

5-star play: Cade Cunningham

4-star play: Saddiq Bey, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Isaiah Stewart, Deandre Ayton

Deeper Value: Trey Lyles, Cameron Payne, Cameron Johnson

GPP Sleeper: Cameron Payne, Jae Crowder

Houston Rockets @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 240

Vegas Spread: Sac -5.5

Now this is a game that we’ll want to target here, as this is the highest total I’ve seen this year and this game was fantasy goodness just a few nights ago. The only issue I have is that the Kings have so many guards that its almost a dart throw as to who is going to have the big game. De’Aaron Fox showed out last game, but Tyrese Haliburton has been the more consistent of the two. If Holmes is out again here tonight then we can ride that Marvin Bagley wave again as well as the Kings will go small with Christian Wood on the other side. Harrison Barnes has also picked up his play the last few games, and I’d even take a few shots on Chimezie Metu if Damian Jones is out again. For value, Davion Mitchell is getting some solid playing time, and Buddy Hield has been on fire off the bench, I like both of them in GPPs here as well.

Now for the Rockets, Kevin Porter Jr. is going to be a guy I target heavily here tonight, as he’s still too cheap on FanDuel. Christian Wood will be another target here, as he should carve up this Kings frontcourt as long as he doesn’t get into foul trouble again as they’ve been getting torched by opposing bigs the past few weeks. Jalen Green is another solid GPP option as he isn’t too pricey but I wouldn’t pair him and Porter. Jae’Sean Tate also had a big game last time out, but some of that was due to Wood’s foul trouble, but he is also very much in play here. Lastly, Eric Gordon can light it up if he gets hot and this is the perfect type of game environment for him to do so.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Porter Jr., Christian Wood

4-star play: Tyrese Haliburton, Harrison Barnes, Marvin Bagley, Jalen Green, Jae’Sean Tate

Deeper Value: Jalen Green, Davion Mitchell, Buddy Hield, Chimezie Metu

GPP Sleeper: Marvin Bagley (if he starts at the 5)

Golden State Warriors @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 216.5

Vegas Spread: Min -4.5

Here we have an interesting game, as Steph and Draymond have already been ruled out for this game, so that’ll open up a good amount of value on this GS team tonight. Jordan Poole is going to be the main beneficiary of Steph being out, but he has burned us in his spot in the past, but he’ll be a premier play either way tonight. Andrew Wiggins will also see a nice bump here as well, but he can be scoring dependent at times. Klay Thompson should also see his minutes start to increase in the near future, if he can get 24-28 minutes here he’d be very viable as well. Otto Porter Jr., Jonathan Kuminga and Damion Lee will also be in play for value here for this Warriors team as this should be a competitive game.

Now for the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has a good matchup here with Draymond out, as the Warriors can’t go small, and he should feast on Looney. Anthony Edwards is also a solid play here, as he’s shown that him and D’Angelo Russell can co-exist together and both have big games at the same time. Both are solid options here tonight. Patrick Beverley has also been solid, and he gets a boost with Steph out here. Lastly, Jarred Vanderbilt has been really solid, and if the Warriors find a way to go small here he would benefit from it.

5-star play: Jordan Poole, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson (depending on minutes), Otto Porter, D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards

Deeper Value: Jarred Vanderbilt, Jonathan Kuminga, Damion Lee

GPP Sleeper: Jonathan Kuminga

Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: 224

Vegas Spread: Uth -5

Here we have another solid game to target, as this Utah team has been hit with the injury and COVID bug lately as well, however, it looks like they will get Rudy Gobert back here, and he’ll be forced into heavy minutes right away with Whiteside already ruled out. Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell are always a great backcourt tandem, both are viable here with my preference being on Mitchell as he has the much higher upside. Royce O’Neale and Bojan Bogdanovic are also in play on a small slate tonight if you are looking to get different there. Jordan Clarkson is another guy that could win you a GPP if this game blows out for whatever reason, as the Nuggets have been rolling lately.

Now for the Nuggets, they’re coming off a blowout win against the Lakers and are riding high here. Nikola Jokic is gonna be your main target here as he just keeps having monster performances and they’ll need him again in this one. Will Barton is another guy I am high on here as well as he does a little of it all for the Nuggets. Aaron Gordon’s performance has also increased the past few games, and on a short slate he is very much in play. Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo eat into each other’s upside, but Austin Rivers did miss last game, so if he misses again I’d take a few shots on them in GPPs as well.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Donovan Mitchell

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, Will Barton, Aaron Gordon

Deeper Value: Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo, Royce O’Neale, Bojan Bogdanovic

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson
