DFS CFL Strategy – Canadian Fantasy Football Week 10 | 2021 Picks Projections Winning Lineups for Draftkings

Canadian Fantasy Football (CFL) can be incredibly lucrative if you know how to manipulate the roster requirements and scoring. Daily fantasy players (with little experience) can profit quickly with just some basic information because very little is written about CFL inside the industry. My name is DFS Spreadsheets (@dfs_spreadsheet on Twitter)  I’m a data analyst by trade, and love digging into the intricacies that give our players advantages no one else can deliver.

CFL DFS Week Ten – Quick Glance

The data and insights going into our CFL Research Station provides an edge that other sites simply don’t have. A lot can happen in a week for Canadian fantasy football. I won’t be updating this article with any roster changes etc but will be providing updates in our Discord channels.

Edmonton @ Winnipeg

Edmonton comes in with three straight losses but the Elks get starter Trevor Harris back this week. He steps right into a tough matchup as the Bombers allow the fewest DK points to Qb (12.3) which is the fewest by about 5.5 DK points. I don’t really have any interest in the Edmonton passing game. Even though Winnipeg has a great defence, they do allow about 95 yards per game on the ground and still give up 15.4 DK points to running backs. The matchup will scare a lot of people away but Wilder makes for a pivot off of Stanback who should be the highest owned RB.

The Bombers are 7-1 on the season, 8-1 in their last 9 home games and have now won 5 straight. Zach Collaros had a career game last week throwing for 417 yards and 2 TDs. He’s only $8300 on DK but he has a tough matchup as Edmonton allows the 3rd fewest DK points to QBs on the slate. People may chase last week’s huge game but I’ll pass for the most part. Prior to last week’s 27.7 point performance, he hadn’t hit 20 DK points in any of his starts. Winnipeg will also be without WR Kenny Lawler. Look for Bailey, Demski and others to see an uptick in targets.

Going For Two

In this section I will identify two of my top CFL plays from each game based on a couple of metrics that I have created (full Value and Ratings data is available to our VIPS in my weekly cheat sheet and Research Station):

  • Value: Player data and performance from multiple categories weighted against the player’s weekly Draftkings salary
  • Rating: A metric that measures how a player ranks in various categories vs players of the same position
  1. Nic Demski $6600 WPG
  2. Rasheed Bailey $5300 WPG

Calgary @ Saskatchewan

The Stamps head to Saskatchewan looking to win back to back games against the Riders. On the Calgary side, I will have interest in Daniel Williams
and Malik Henry if we get news that Kamar Jorden and or Josh Huff aren’t able to go again.

As for the Riders, they have not been able to stretch the field (leading to them signing Duke Williams his week). The Stampeders are allowing 279.6 pass yards per game this season so I do have some interest in the Rider pass game. Cody Fajardo is the highest priced QB and could have suppressed ownership and could be a pivot off of Adams.  As for the ground game, Powell had his best game of the season last week against this Stampeders team. He should be lower owned than Stanback and Wilder.

Going For Two

  1. Kian Schaffer-Baker $4800 SSK
  2. Malik Henry $3900 CGY

NFL Season Pass DFS

Ottawa @ Montreal

I’ll be all over Montreal in this one. The best offensive team versus the worst defensive team that will be playing their second game in 5 days. I love all parts of the Montreal team – just be aware that they’ll be heavily owned and this is the CFL were things don’t always go as planned.

Going For Two

  1. Jake Wieneke $7300 MTL
  2. Ryan Davis $5400 OTT

Toronto @ Hamilton

Coming into this week, I was high on Hamilton’s pass game as Toronto will be playing their 2nd game in 5 days and they allow the most DK points to WR. However, after watching the Argos DST go off for 3 TDS and put up 33 DK points on Wednesday vs Ottawa paired with the fact that the Hamilton offence has looked nothing close to the offensive force they were in 2019, I’ll be pulling back some of that Hamilton love. Don’t get me wrong, they are in a great spot and could definitely explode but it looks like the addition of Chris Jones to the Toronto coaching staff is starting to make an impact.

As for Toronto, the only real player I’m interested in is DJ Foster. He had the backfield to himself last game and put up 25 DK points – let’s hope he gets the backfield to himself in this game as well.

Going For Two

  1. Dj Foster $5300 TOR
  2. Tim White $3200 HAM
