DFS CFL Strategy – Canadian Fantasy Football Week 3 | 2021 Picks Projections Winning Lineups for Draftkings

Canadian Fantasy Football (CFL) can be incredibly lucrative if you know how to manipulate the roster requirements and scoring. Daily fantasy players (with little experience) can profit quickly with just some basic information because very little is written about CFL inside the industry. My name is DFS Spreadsheets (@dfs_spreadsheet on Twitter)  I’m a data analyst by trade, and love digging into the intricacies that give our players advantages no one else can deliver.

CFL DFS Week Three – Quick Glance

I will be incorporating more stats into our CFL Research Station as the season progresses and data is collected. A lot can happen in a week for Canadian fantasy football. I won’t be updating this article with any roster changes etc but will be providing updates in our Discord channels.

Edmonton @ B.C.

The Elks are 3-6 in their past nine away games and are only averaging 19.8 points per game in that time. The team has loads of talent on offence but cannot put it in the end zone.

The Lions are  3-6 in their past 9 home games but are giving up just 208 passing yards in those games.

Going For Two

In this section I will identify two of my top CFL plays from each game based on a couple of metrics that I have created (full Value and Ratings data is available to our VIPS in my weekly cheat sheet and Research Station:

  • Value: Player data and performance from multiple categories weighted against the player’s weekly Draftkings salary
  • Rating: A metric that measures how a player ranks in various categories vs players of the same position
  1. Lucky Whitehead WR BC
  2. James Wilder RB Edmonton

Calgary @ Montreal

Calgary has started the season 0-2 and will now be without their star QB Bo-Levi Mitchell for at least six games with a broken leg. Young Canadian Michael O’Connor will most likely take over for Mitchell.

Montreal looked impressive in Week  2 beating Edmonton 30-13.  Calgary is giving up the most Draftkings points per game to WR.

Going For Two

  1. Kamar Jordan WR Calgary
  2. BJ Cunningham WR Montreal

Winnipeg @ Toronto

Toronto has won three of their past 9 home games while Winnipeg has won 3 of their past 9 road games. Toronto is giving up the second most CFL Draftkings points to WR so far this season.

It’s still not know who will be under center for Toronto as Nick Arbuckle was taking first team reps in practice.

  2. Nic Demski WR Winnipeg

Ottawa @ Saskatchewan

Going For Two

Ottawa pulled off the surprise upset in Week 1 over Edmonton but their offence was pathetic. There’s not a whole lot to love about this offence.

Saskatchewan got bad news regarding star WR Shaq Evans as he has suffered an ankle injury and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. WR Paul McRoberts is expected to make his way onto the roster – he’s only $2500 on Draftkings in an offence that likes to spread the ball around.

  1. Cody Fajardo QB Saskatchewan
  2. Paul McRoberts WR Saskatchewan

DFS Army Strategy Advice

I have added some new features to the CFL Research Station including Draftkings ownership and points by player and week. We have all of the data you need (and won’t find anywhere else) to make informed decisions for your CFL lineups.

As an added bonus, I have used the historical data to sim each Week 3 game 1000 times (please note that this does not reflect major injuries or roster changes). Here is how the games averaged out:
