WNBA Strategy Picks for Today

Las Vegas Aces @ New York Liberty

Liz Cambage has been on fire over the past two games. New York has no one who can deal with her size and she’ll do whatever she wants here. A’ja Wilson has not been worth her price recently, but this matchup is as good as it gets for her. Dearica Hamby makes for a nice contrarian option here. On the guard front, Chelsea Gray continues to play huge minutes and is always an option. The return of Kelsey Plum to the team limits the upside we will see from Riquna Williams. Most people will also be off Jackie Young here due to a combination of her recent performance and the return of Plum. It could be an opportunity.

For the Liberty, this is the spot to go right back to Sabrina Ionescu after she laid a massive dud last time out. I expect her to be lower owned on this slate and the matchup is not necessarily the best. Betnijah Laney and Sami Whitcomb are always GPP viable on any slate as their shooting can break the slate. In the frontcourt, without Natasha Howard, it’s going to be a mixture of Michaela Onyenwere, Kiah Stokes, Kylee Shook, and Rebecca Allen. It’s hard to say what happens here, but Onyenwere is the best option out of these four as we will expect her to play heavy minutes here.

5-Star Play: Liz Cambage, Sabrina Ionescu

4-Star Play: A’ja Wilson, Betnijah Laney, Dearica Hamby, Chelsea Gray, Sami Whitcomb, Michaela Onyenwere

GPP Sleeper: Dearica Hamby

Deep Value: Kelsey Plum

Chicago Sky @ Phoenix Mercury

The Sky will once again be without Candace parker and Stefanie Dolson. Courtney Vandersloot and Diamond DeShields will once again have to carry the team. They have both been phenomenal over the past few games and the matchup they get is an excellent one. They both went for over 40 Fpts each in the previous matchup. Allie Quigley returns here having missed all but the season opener. She’ll play backup to Slooty and Copper here. In the frontcourt, Ruthy Hebard, Astou Ndour-Fall, and Azura Stevens will continue to split the minutes. They’ll need all the size they can get here against Griner.

Brittney Griner laid a dud in this matchup last time out after posting 2 straight 50+ Fpts efforts. It’s time to go right back to her here, the matchup is just too good, and she can be unstoppable. Brianna Turner makes for a nice partner to Griner in the frontcourt. With Diana Taurasi still out, you can go right back to Skylar Diggins-Smith and Kia Nurse here. They’ll play well over 30 minutes each and their upside is immense in this matchup.

5-Star Play: Brittney Griner, Courtney Vandersloot

4-Star Play: Diamond DeShields, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Kia Nurse, Ruthy Hebard

GPP Sleeper: Astou Ndour-Fall

Deep Value: Azura Stevens

NASCAR Draftkings Fanduel

Indiana Fever @ Los Angeles Sparks

Teaira McCowan is coming off a 43 Fpts effort against the Storm, and her size will be needed tonight against Amanda Zahui B, especially if the Ogwumike sisters are out. There’s the possibility she plays over 30 minutes today which will put her in an excellent position to crush her price tag. In the backcourt, Kelsey Mitchell and Danielle Robinson lead the way. Both have been struggling recently, but the upside especially with Kelsey is huge. To round up, Tiffany Mitchell and Victoria Vivians make for GPP game theory plays here.

As mentioned above, the Sparks could be without the Ogwumike sisters. In this scenario, Amanda Zahui B and Nia Coffey will each play over 35 minutes. If just one of the Ogwumike sisters plays, then we will see Zahui B and Coffey playing around 30 minutes each. Both are in play under either scenario, but one is clearly better. It’s hard to like any of the Sparks’ guards. However, one could take a flyer on either Erica Wheeler or Brittney Sykes in GPPs.

5-Star Play: Teaira McCowan, Amanda Zahui B

4-Star Play: Kelsey Mitchell, Nia Coffey, Nneka Ogwumike

GPP Sleeper: Tiffany Mitchell

Deep Value: Brittney Sykes
