Sacramento Kings @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: Sac -4

This game’s total seems a bit too low here given the pace that these two teams play at. We’ll start with the Kings, I think this is a spot we can target as both of these teams don’t play much defense. De’Aaron Fox is going to be your main target here, as the Cavs are pretty bad against guards, which opens up a lot for Tyrese Haliburton as well, as he played only 24 minutes the other night so he should be nice and fresh here and I expect that his minutes limit will be lifted in the very near future. Richaun Holmes also gets a great matchup here, as we can attack the Cavs with bigs and with Bagley out he gets even more usage. Harrison Barnes has also taken over the Bagley role and he is playing big minutes as well. He’s been consistently in the 30-35 FP range so he’s safe for cash games. Cory Joseph also played 30 minutes last game, but I think that was more to give Haliburton a break, but he’s a decent value as well. Now for the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton lit it up last night, and he’s been averaging over 25 actual points per game since the All-Star Break. He put up another 36 points last night and the Kings have been getting torched by guards, which also puts Darius Garland into play here as well. He played 36 minutes last night as well but he’s young so I’m not too worried about it. Jarrett Allen had a solid double-double again last night and he makes for a solid play for his price on FanDuel, not so much on DraftKings. Larry Nance will also be primed for a bigger role if Kevin Love misses again tonight. He’s pretty cheap on both sites as well. If you’re looking to get different, Isaac Okoro has also taken on a bigger role as well and he’s dirt cheap on both sites.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Collin Sexton

4-star play: Richaun Holmes, Jarrett Allen, Larry Nance, Darius Garland, Harrison Barnes, Tyrese Haliburton

Deeper Value: Isaac Okoro, Cory Joseph

GPP Sleeper: Tyrese Haliburton

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 226.5

Vegas Spread: Min -2

For this game, we have two pretty bad teams that are going up against one another, and the big news will hinge on whether or not Shai Gilgeous-Alexander plays as he is a GTD as of typing this, Darius Bazley has already been ruled out already so it’ll open up a ton of usage for the Thunder if he misses this game. The biggest beneficiaries would be Theo Maledon and Ty Jerome both would be elite value plays as the Timberwolves are one of the worst defensive teams in the league and allow a ton of FPs to basically every position. Al Horford would also be a big beneficiary, but he missed last game as well, but he isn’t on the injury report as of right now. He is an elite play here tonight especially at his price. Moses Brown would take a hit if he was in, but they could start him, I only want him if Horford is out or if he starts. Last time this situation happened, Isaiah Roby started and he would be the value that you would want. Aleksej Pokusevski would also be in line for decent minutes, but he has been very hot and cold as well. Svi Myhailuk would also be in line for more minutes as well if SGA is out, as he played 20+ last game and he’ll take on a decent role as well. Now for the T-Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be your premier play, as Horford is undersized and no one on the Thunder can matchup with him. Anthony Edwards has also been fantastic over the past month, and he makes for a great play in all formats as his price has come up, but he is still too cheap given his recent production. Ricky Rubio is also playing really well, and he should see 30+ minutes again tonight and the matchup is solid. Josh Okogie is playing decent minutes, but he doesn’t do much offensively as he is a defensive minded player. Jaylen Nowell would be another guy I like for value if Jordan McLaughlin is out again tonight. Overall this could be a solid game to target for value.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, Al Horford

4-star play: Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome, Anthony Edwards, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: Josh Okogie, Jaylen Nowell, Jaden McDaniels

GPP Sleeper: Svi Myhailuk, Ty Jerome

Charlotte Hornets @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 225.5

Vegas Spread: Sas -5.5

Starting with the Hornets, we got news last night that LaMelo Ball has a fractured wrist and is likely done for the year. This changes the landscape of this Hornets team as that leaves a void in usage that will be filled by a few games. The biggest beneficiary will be Devonte’ Graham as he will see a bigger role, similar to what he saw last year and he is a great play here tonight especially at his price on both sites. Terry Rozier will see a bigger role as well, but he is pretty scoring dependent but the matchup is great here as the Spurs bleed FPs to guards. Gordon Hayward will also see a few additional shots here as he sees a slight usage bump as well. The biggest beneficiary here though will be Malik Monk as he sees a 3.2% usage rate increase when LaMelo is off the court. PJ Washington all draws a solid matchup here as the Spurs have been bad against 4s and even Miles Bridges should see some additional usage as well and he had a solid game last time out even with LaMelo playing in that game. Now for the Spurs, with Aldridge out of the picture, this is now DeMar Derozan’s team and he draws an excellent matchup here today as the Hornets D takes a solid hit with LaMelo out. He played 38 minutes the other night with Murray out, but he isn’t on the injury report tonight so he’s likely back. Dejounte Murray looks like he’ll be back here as well, so he makes for a solid play again here as well. Keldon Johnson has also picked up his play with Aldridge out, as he had a 20 rebound game the other night and he’s priced very reasonably everywhere. The Hornets are also brutal against bigs, so Jakob Poeltl should also see a few additional opportunities here especially in the rebounding department. Overall this is a decent game to target but I won’t be too heavy on it outside of the Hornets value.

5-star play: DeMar Derozan

4-star play: Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, PJ Washington, Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson

Deeper Value: Jakob Poeltl, Miles Bridges, Devonte’ Graham

GPP Sleeper: Devonte’ Graham, Malik Monk

Utah Jazz @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 230.5

Vegas Spread: Uth -8.5

This game has a surprisingly high total, as the Jazz are playing much faster this year and the Bulls have been keeping games competitive as well which makes this a solid game that we can target. Starting with the Jazz, Rudy Gobert draws the best matchup of the Jazz here tonight, as the Bulls are hemorrhaging fantasy points to opposing Cs, as they are undersized now that they start Markkanen at the 5, he is on the injury report though which is something to monitor. Donovan Mitchell is also a great play here, as the Bulls struggle against guards as well, but he’s been a bit inconsistent as of late, but if Gobert is out he’ll dominate usage with that first team. Mike Conley is safe for cash games here as well, but I won’t really have much of him in GPPs as his price is right about at value. Bojan Bogdanovic is also always in play for GPPs because he can light it up when he gets hot, but its been few and far between. The only other guy I have interest in here for the Jazz is Joe Ingles as he played 33 minutes off the bench last game and his price is cheap on both sites. Now for the Bulls, Zach LaVine is going to be the usage hog here, even with Markkanen and Porter back, but the matchup isn’t the best here as the Jazz are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. Lauri Markkanen is also starting at the 5, and he’d have a great matchup is Gobert were to miss, but either way he isn’t a conventional big so I’m not too worried there. Tomas Satoransky is also continuing to start, and he’s pretty cheap as well but again the matchup is difficult for these Bulls guards. Thaddeus Young is also a decent play for his price, but he’s not someone I want to target in GPPs. Coby White has a decent matchup going up against the Jazz 2nd unit, but I just don’t know if the minutes will be there for him to really go off tonight.

5-star play: Rudy Gobert (if in)

4-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Thad Young

Deeper Value: Bojan Bogdanovic, Coby White, Mike Conley

GPP Sleeper: Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles

Toronto Raptors @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 223.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -8.5

The Raptors are back at full strength finally, and the matchup is great in all aspects for them, especially their guards. Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry are both great plays here tonight, as they each played 40 minutes last night and I’d expect them to be right up around there again tonight as long as this game stays close. Pascal Siakam also has a very favorable matchup here, as the Rockets don’t play a traditional big either, so he’ll start at the 5 and he only played 25 minutes last night so he should be ready to go in this one. OG Anunoby is a solid play in cash here as well, especially on FanDuel where he does a bit of it all for the Raptors, but he’ll lose some usage to Norman Powell who has been playing out of his mind for the past month. However, I don’t like his price on either site with all the other Raptors healthy and playing their full minutes. You really only want to target those starting 5 for the Raptors, as their role players don’t really play more than 15 minutes off the bench now that they’re back at full strength. For the Rockets, they are finally getting back to being healthy, as John Wall is back and draws a solid matchup going up against Lowry, and Victor Oladipo is back in play as well. He isn’t outrageously priced either. Christian Wood is also back here, and he draws a solid matchup as the Raptors play small, and he was a usage hog before he went down with that injury, and his minutes are ramping up to where he is playable at his price again. Kevin Porter Jr.’s role has taken a significant hit with everyone back, we need his price to come back down before he becomes playable again so he’s a fade for me. Overall, I will be much lighter on this game compared to the rest of them on this slate.

5-star play: Fred VanVleet, Kyle Lowry, John Wall

4-star play: Christian Wood, Norman Powell, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby

Deeper Value: Kevin Porter Jr., Sterling Brown

GPP Sleeper: Normal Powell

Boston Celtics @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 221.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -1.5

Here we have one of the lower total games on the night as the C’s take on the Grizzlies. Both teams have been playing some solid basketball but I’m surprised to see the Grizzlies favored even by a slight margin here. Starting with the Celtics, we already have news that Kemba Walker will be out tonight, and that puts both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown into elite plays as they see a respective +4.4 and +2.4% usage rate increases with Kemba off the court. Tatum averages 1.37 FPPM with Kemba off the court, and Brown averages 1.25 FPPM. Both are elite plays tonight. If Tristan Thompson misses again, that’ll also make Robert Williams III into play, as he averages 1.34 FPPM with Thompson out. He’s been on fire the past few games and I don’t expect the Grizzlies to slow him down. With Kemba out it’ll also put Payton Pritchard in play, and I want him coming off the bench as that is really where he thrives. Now for the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas is a great play in all formats here, as the Celtics are notoriously soft inside, and given the pace of this game being a bit slower, it plays into his favor in a half-court type game like this. Ja Morant also gets a solid matchup here with Kemba out, as he’ll see Teague and Payton Pritchard and he should be able to take advantage there. Dillon Brooks has been very hit or miss as well, but he’s in play for GPPs at his price as he has immense upside. Kyle Anderson is also a decent value play here, as he’s been solid overall there but with Brandon Clarke also healthy it limits his upside, he’s more in play for cash and Clarke is your GPP guy. Overall this is a decent game to target as we do have some value opening up.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, Robert Williams III

Deeper Value: Kyle Anderson, Brandon Clarke, Payton Pritchard

GPP Sleeper: Payton Pritchard, Robert Williams III

Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -5.5

This game opens up some value here, and a lot of interesting ways to go here as it looks like Giannis is going to be out here. Starting with the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis is going to be a premier play, as the Bucks take a big hit inside with Giannis likely out, and Myles Turner also draws a solid matchup going up against Lopez and Portis here and he has a nice ceiling ofr his price. Caris LeVert will likely continue to start, but I’d like to see him come off the bench where he’d dominate usage especially with Lamb back. Malcolm Brogdon also draws a great matchup, as the Bucks are horrible around the perimeter, as we saw Lonnie Walker light them up the other night. I expect him and the other Pacer guards to be jacking up a ton of 3s. Overall those are the only few guys from the Pacers that I’ll be targeting here tonight. For the Bucks, the biggest beneficiaries are going to be Khris Middleton who sees a +7.6% usage rate increase and averages 1.36 FPPM with Giannis off the court, and Jrue Holiday, who sees a +7.1% usage rate increase and 1.27 FPPM. Both of them will likely be core plays here tonight even in a tougher matchup against the Pacers. Bobby Portis will also be a core play for me tonight, as he averages 1.10 FPPM with Giannis out and he should see 25-30 minutes here and he’s just above minimum on FanDuel. Brook Lopez will also see a slight increase, but I don’t like the matchup he has here and his price is a bit elevated. Donte DiVincenzo will be the only other guy I target here, as he averages over a FPPM and he’s been shooting really well over the past few weeks. The Bucks will be a team that I target heavily here, as this should be one of the most competitive games on the slate and the total is solid as well.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday

4-star play: Donte DiVincenzo, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Myles Turner, Caris LeVert

Deeper Value: TJ McConnell, Jeremy Lamb

GPP Sleeper: Bobby Portis

Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Lac -6.5

Here we have a decent hammer game, as the Hawks have been playing some great basketball since the All-Star Break, and with Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka already ruled out, this becomes a really solid matchup for Trae Young as he’s been averaging close to 25 actual points per game and he’s an elite play here tonight. John Collins has also been white hot as well, and there are rumors of him being traded, with Ibaka out he also draws a great matchup here. Clint Capela should also be able to get whatever he wants here as he makes for a really nice GPP play as he could be in line for one of those 20-20 games he gets every few years. Bogdan Bogdanovic has also had his minutes restriction lifted, and he’s a solid value play, especially if you think this game blows out. Danilo Gallinari has also been playing really well and he makes for a good play in all formats at his price. Now for the Clippers, your main target is going to be Kawhi Leonard and Paul George as both of these guys dominate usage especially with Beverley out. Add in that Serge Ibaka is out and those guys will be playing heavy minutes and the Hawks are not great defensively as they don’t really have anyone who can match up with either or those guys. Ivica Zubac comes into play here as well at his price, as he’ll likely draw the start and play solid minutes. The only other guy I’m looking to target here in GPPs will be Lou Williams as he is a bargain everywhere and should see some more minutes with Beverley out again here.

5-star play: Trae Young, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George

4-star play: John Collins, Clint Capela

Deeper Value: Danilo Gallinari, Ivica Zubac, Bogdan Bogdanovic

GPP Sleeper: Lou Williams, Bogdan Bogdanovic

NBA Lock of the Day:

(Bobby Portis FD: $3,700 DK: $4,100)

It’s looking like Giannis is going to miss this game, which opens up a ton of minutes for our main man Bobby Portis. With Giannis off the court, he has a 21.4% usage rate, and averages 1.10 FPPM in a game where he should see 30+ minutes. He’s a core value lock for me in all formats tonight.
