Full Court Press Breakdown for NBA DFS 2/2:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Steve aka @Mutt18 on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Toronto Raptors @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 214

Vegas Spread: Tor -6

For the Raptors, the news here is that Norman Powell is a GTD, and OG Anunoby has already been ruled out for this game, so this would open up some value here. The biggest beneficiary of both of those guys missing this game is going to be Pascal Siakam as he should be forced into playing a ton of minutes here, and we all saw him put up a near 60 burger in their last game. Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry also see a nice boost as both of them will be forced into even bigger roles, with my favorite being VanVleet. Chris Boucher has cooled off a bit, but he is firmly in play here as he has immense upside as he’s shown, and he’ll be virtually their whole offense with the 2nd unit with Powell out. Terence Davis should also see around 20-25 minutes here, and at his price he can make a lot of things work with your lineups, but he needs Powell and OG to officially be ruled out in order to be viable.

For the Magic, Nikola Vucevic is the top dog here for this Magic team, as he’s been their anchor offensively all year long. Aaron Gordon comes in 2nd, but he’s out for the next few weeks with an injury so that is a major boost to some of the Magic starters. Cole Anthony has been thriving in the PG role for the Magic so far with Fultz done for the year, and he doesn’t break the bank once again tonight, but he has a more difficult matchup than the Magic bigs. Terrence Ross is always in play for GPPs with his scoring ability, as he has immense upside when his shot is falling as he dominates usage with that 2nd unit. Evan Fournier can also get hot, and this Raptors team isn’t what they were defensively from last year. Gary Clark will likely draw the start for Gordon and Khem Birch should see some solid minutes off the bench.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Aaron Gordon, Cole Anthony, Evan Fournier, Chris Boucher

Deeper Value: Terrence Ross, Terence Davis

GPP Sleeper: Terence Davis (if OG and Powell are both out), Evan Fournier

Los Angeles Clippers @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 242

Vegas Spread: Lac -1.5

Starting with the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are back which kills a lot of the value we had last week. Both are in tremendous spots here though as we just saw what the combo of Westbrook and Beal did to this Nets team. Patrick Beverley has already been ruled out, so that’ll open up a few more minutes for both Lou Williams and Reggie Jackson, although Lou has looked a little lost this year without his running mate Montrezl Harrell. That’s really it for this Clippers team as there isn’t a ton of value outside of there, but if you want to take a shot here, Serge Ibaka and Ivica Zubac split the minutes at the 5, but because of that both of their upsides are a bit limited, but we’ve seen so far this year that you want to play guys against this Nets team as they really are horrible defensively, so you can play the Clippers with confidence here.

For the Nets, James Harden is back here, so it takes the shine off of  Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as they’ll all dominate the usage with the starters. With Harden in, it’ll take Bruce Brown out of play for me and is a significant downgrade to Joe Harris as well who thrived against the Wizards. If you’re looking to get a little different, DeAndre Jordan has a solid matchup here once again, especially if he sees minutes against Zubac who is basically a turnstile at the rim.

5-star play: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George

4-star play: Lou Williams, Serge Ibaka, Joe Harris, James Harden

Deeper Value: Bruce Brown, Lou Williams, DeAndre Jordan

GPP Sleeper: Bruce Brown, DeAndre Jordan

Memphis Grizzlies @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: 223.5

Vegas Spread: Ind -5

For the Grizzlies, this is a difficult matchup, as the Pacers are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Ja Morant is likely the best play here, as if anyone is lacking a bit defensively on this team it is Brogdon. The health of Jonas Valanciunas will play a factor here as well, because if he is out it’ll open up more minutes for Xavier Tillman and Brandon Clarke with my preference being Tillman. If JoVal is out here I’ll actually have a few shares of Kyle Anderson as well, as he will slide to the 4 at points and it’ll secure more minutes for him. You never love to play him, but on a slate where there isn’t a ton of value yet, he’s viable here.

For the Pacers, the top dog on this offense is Domantas Sabonis as he has been great all year long, and the matchup doesn’t get much better than this, especially considering that the Grizzlies may be without Valanciunas again tonight so they have no one to matchup with him. Myles Turner has been having an insane defensive year, and he’s a better play on FanDuel where steals and blocks are worth 3 FPs and the matchup is great for him as well. Malcolm Brogdon has been a model of greatness this year, and gets another great matchup here as Ja isn’t a great defender at this point in his career. Doug McDermott is a GTD here, and if he misses it’ll open up a lot of 2nd team usage for T.J. McConnell who has been quietly crushing in the minutes he’s been getting. Jeremy Lamb is also getting ramped back up after coming back from his injury, but he’s a decent price on both sites.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis

4-star play: Ja Morant, Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb, Brandon Clarke, Malcolm Brogdon

Deeper Value: T.J. McConnell, Doug McDermott

GPP Sleeper: Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson

Portland Trailblazers @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 240.5

Vegas Spread: Wsh -2.5

For the Trailblazers, they are on the 2nd half of a B2B, but this is a prime matchup for them here as the Wizards play fast and loose to go along with their lack of defense. Damian Lillard gets a phenomenal matchup, as we know that Westbrook doesn’t like to play defense, and he gets a ton of usage with McCollum on the shelf for a few more weeks. Carmelo Anthony is a great play here as well, especially if Derrick Jones Jr. misses once again as he’ll likely take 20+ shots here. Enes Kanter gets a great matchup here as well, as the Wizards are horrible against bigs, and he should be able to get a ton of easy put backs here. Gary Trent Jr. is coming off a number of good games as well and as long as he continues to start he is in play.

For the Wizards, Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal are going to anchor this offense, as Beal is averaging just under 35 actual points per game, and he gets another great matchup here as this should be a high scoring game, and the Wizards have shown the ability to keep up in these types of shootouts. We just saw what the combo of these two guards can do against the Nets the other night, but with both healthy its tough to predict which one of them is going to go nuclear, the other night it was Westy, tonight it could be Beal. Ish Smith makes for an interesting play here if Neto is ruled out again as he’ll anchor the 2nd unit. I’ll also have a few shares of Moe Wagner as his minutes should ramp up a bit here, as he’s shown he has immense upside when given the minutes. Rui Hachimura is back as well, and he becomes a viable option on this offense as well. Davis Bertans is also in play here as he is getting back to his regular minutes as well and he has immense upside at his price if he gets hot from 3.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Carmelo Anthony, Enes Kanter, Gary Trent Jr.

Deeper Value: Ish Smith, Anfernee Simons, Moe Wagner, Davis Bertans

GPP Sleeper: Davis Bertans

Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Uth -12

For the Pistons, Jerami Grant has been struggling for the past week, and this matchup doesn’t do him any favors as the Jazz are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA and they’re white hot right now. Mason Plumlee should have some issues against Gobert here, so there really isn’t a lot to love on this Pistons team in this matchup. The only other guy I’d really have any confidence playing is Derrick Rose but outside of that, I won’t be targeting the Pistons on this slate.

For the Jazz, there can be some value here that hinges on the availability of Donovan Mitchell, as if he is out he opens up a ton of value for both Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson at their respective prices, however, if he is in today it really puts a damper on their expectations. Rudy Gobert has quietly been crushing it the past few games, but the matchup isn’t the best for him here against Jokic. Mike Conley is also in play from this Jazz team, as he has been a model of consistency so far, but the matchup isn’t ideal here as this game should be pretty slow paced. If you’re looking for a solid value in showdown, JaMychal Green has been solid and I’ll also like Bogdan Bogdanovic if Mitchell misses again here.

5-star play: Rudy Gobert

4-star play: Jerami Grant, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Deeper Value: Derrick Rose, JaMychal Green

GPP Sleeper: JaMychal Green

Boston Celtics @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 226.5

Vegas Spread: Bos -2.5

For the Celtics, they appear to be back at full strength here, and this game is a nice hammer game to have as there should be a ton of points scored in this one. Jayson Tatum is my favorite play in this one, along with Kemba Walker as Steph is not known for his defensive abilities. The big men for the Celtics also have great matchups but with all of them healthy its tough to predict who is going to be the one to take advantage. Daniel Theis has been the hottest, but you can also go with Tristan Thompson for value. Lastly, I like Jaylen Brown here as his price has come down a bit with Tatum back.

Its the usual cast for the Warriors here tonight, Steph Curry is going to lead the offense here and has the highest upside of anyone on this slate going against Kemba and his bad knees. Kelly Oubre is starting to heat up over the past 2 weeks but consistency is his issue. Andrew Wiggins is also in play here but I don’t love his price tag on FanDuel. I do like James Wiseman if he continues off the bench, as he’s been much better there and gets a better matchup if that is the case. Lastly, Draymond Green does it all here, as he can rack up rebounds and assists here and his price is pretty cheap with some upside.

5-star play: Steph Curry, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Kemba Walker, Kelly Oubre, Jaylen Brown, Draymond Green

Deeper Value: James Wiseman, Jeff Teague

GPP Sleeper: James Wiseman

NBA Lock of the Day:

Steph Curry (FD: $9,400 DK: $9,600)

Steph is going to be my lock of the day here, as he has been heating up over the past week and the matchup is really solid against the Kemba and his wonky knees. I love that this is in the late game as well as your lineups will be able to play catchup with him and this game has sneaky shootout potential.
