Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Phi -11

The Cavaliers actually have something to be excited about since LeBron left town, as their young core has been playing dividends this season in terms of development. Collin Sexton has been leading the charge for the guards, as he’s stepped up offensively and Darius Garland isn’t far behind him. I don’t love their respective matchups here, but given this is a smaller slate both are in play for GPPs. Jarrett Allen has picked up right where he left off as well, and has been smashing for the Cavs with them looking to trade Drummond, however, he runs into a buzzsaw tonight in the form of Joel Embiid, so I’ll be tempering my expectation. Taurean Prince has also missed a few games, and if he is out again tonight then Dean Wade will likely draw the start and ruin lives once again, but if Cedi Osman can find his way into the starting lineup he is a solid value/GPP option here. For the Sixers, Joel Embiid gets a smash spot here, as we could always attack BKN when Allen was the starter, and that remains true here. Ben Simmons has been tearing it up over the past week as well, and none of these Cavaliers guards will be able to contain him with his length and size, they’ve also struggled to contain PGs all year long. Tobias Harris has also been ruled out tonight, so that is a major boost to both Embiid and Simmons. Seth Curry is also a solid value here as well, as he’ll play close to 30 minutes and he’s dirt cheap on both sites. I also have some interest in Shake Milton here as he plays heavy minutes off the bench. Furkan Korkmaz would also be in play if Curry were to miss for any reason.

5-star play: Joel Embiid

4-star play: Ben Simmons, Collin Sexton, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland

Deeper Value: Cedi Osman, Shake Milton, Dean Wade

GPP Sleeper: Dylan Windler

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 237.5

Vegas Spread: Wsh -4.5

This game should be a fantasy point gold mine, as neither of these teams play defense and both play at an incredibly fast pace. Karl-Anthony Towns gets the best matchup of anyone on the Wolves, as no one on this Wizards team will be able to handle him inside. Anthony Edwards has also really started to show why he was the #1 overall pick, as his physicality will play well in this game and it looks like Malik Beasley will be suspended here for his arrest late last year. Ricky Rubio will also see an increased role with Beasley out, and Jaylen Nowell and Jaden McDaniels should see increased run as well. Jarred Vanderbilt has also solidified his role as he played 34 minutes last game at the 4. That’s about as deep as I’ll go on this T-Wolves team though. Now for the Wizards, Russell Westbrook has picked up his play as of late, but its hard for both him and Beal to hit their ceilings, although this is the matchup for it to happen. However, I still won’t likely pair them in the same lineup. Bradley Beal will be in store for massive usage once again, and he is matchup proof, but it is hard for both him and Westy to hit their ceilings as long as they are on the floor at the same time as I touched on above. Rui Hachimura played big minutes as well, and he gets a great matchup here against Vanderbilt. Moe Wagner continues to start as well, but hasn’t been logging big minutes, but he get a few more in the blowout the other night and played really well, so he is someone to keep an eye on tonight especially if Bertans is out again. Davis Bertans has been streaky this year, but if he gets hot from the field he can win you a GPP at his price but he did miss last game so that is something to monitor. If he is out it opens up minutes for Deni Avdija and Robin Lopez.

5-star play: Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Anthony Edwards, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: Moe Wagner, Jaylen Nowell, Jaden McDaniels

GPP Sleeper: Jaylen Nowell, Robin Lopez, Jaden McDaniels

Denver Nuggets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Den -7

For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is in a phenomenal spot here, as the Thunder are no long good against bigs since the departure of Steven Adams to New Orleans. I think the Thunder can keep this competitive and either way they’re short on bodies. Jamal Murray has also been on a tear for the past week or so, and his price hasn’t quite caught up to his recent production and SGA isn’t known for his defensive prowess. Harris has already been ruled out as well, so Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr. will likely both start once again here. Both are due for a big game at some point. And if you think this game gets ugly then you should have some shares of Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo as well. I still like Morris either way as he’ll likely start again alongside Murray with Harris on the shelf. Now for the Thunder, they’re on the 2nd half of a B2B, but Diallo has already been ruled out again, so Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will dominate usage here, he’s a great play even against this stingy Nuggets team. Theo Maldeon also showed why the Thunder are so high on him last night, and he should see a ton of usage as well, he’s one of my favorite values on the night so far. If Horford is out again, then we can fire up Isaiah Roby once again, he disappointed last night after getting into early foul trouble. I’d also be good with playing Darius Bazley after he went for 18-12 lastn night. Luguentz Dort has also turned it up and he’s cheap as well, overall this is a solid game to target tonight.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Theo Maledon, Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Will Barton

Deeper Value: Isaiah Roby, Theo Maledon, Luguentz Dort, Monte Morris

GPP Sleeper: Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo, Theo Maledon

New Orleans Pelicans @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 231

Vegas Spread: Nop -4.5

This is a solid game to target here as well, as the Pelicans have been playing some great basketball lately and the Spurs allow a ton of FPs to all positions. For the Pelicans, Zion Williamson has been tearing it up over the past 2 weeks, and there is no one on this Spurs team that can match up with him, I like him to dominate again here tonight. Brandon Ingram hasn’t been in his best form lately, but he’ll get back in a groove offensively at some point, so he’s firmly in play but don’t pair him and Zion in the same lineup. Lonzo Ball also has a solid matchup, as the Spurs have been allowing a ton of FPs to opposing PGs for years now. Josh Hart has also been playing heavy minutes off the bench, and his minutes are blowout proof, so I love him in GPPs tonight just like I did the other night. The Spurs are still extremely short-handed here, so there will be a ton of value that we can target especially given how fast the pace of this game should be. The biggest news will be whether or not DeMar Derozan rejoins the team after the passing of his father. If he is out again tonight then that’ll open up the floor for Dejounte Murray to dominate once again like he did last game. Derrick White is also out, so that’ll allow Lonnie Walker to slide into the starting lineup again, especially if Derozan is out and he is still very cheap given the minutes that he should play, and Patty Mills will see a ton of minutes off the bench as well. LaMarcus Aldridge has been a disappointment so far this year but he’s a GTD right now as well. If he is out then we’ll likely see a similar starting lineup with Luka Samanic but he’s tough to play even at his price as we don’t know what Pop’s rotation will be like. The biggest beneficiary of Aldridge being out would be Jakob Poeltl as he would have to play heavy minutes.

5-star play: Dejounte Murray, Zion Williamson

4-star play: LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, DeMar Derozan (if in)

Deeper Value: Lonnie Walker, Patty Mills, Josh Hart

GPP Sleeper: Josh Hart, Patty Mills

Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Even

The Pacers are coming off of a tough loss to the Celtics, and they’ll look to bounce back here against the Knicks who have been playing teams really tough. Domantas Sabonis draws the best matchup here, as he is the best option on this Pacers offense. Myles Turner has also been having a career year, and he had a really good game last night and he should be in line for solid minutes again here as the Knicks weak spot is their front court. Malcolm Brogdon has been having a great year, but with TJ McConnell and Jeremy Lamb both healthy again, they have eaten into his production, but he is a solid option for cash games. Doug McDermott is a decent play here as well if he starts again, but this won’t be a game I’m targeting heavily. For the Knicks, the obvious play here is going to be Julius Randle but the matchup does leave a lot to be desired as the Pacers are still one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. If you’re looking for cash options, RJ Barrett is solid, but the ceiling just hasn’t been there for him to really smash at his price. Nerlens Noel is also firmly in play here, but he is a GTD as well so that is something to monitor and the matchup isn’t the greatest. Elfrid Payton and Immanuel Quickley have essentially been splitting minutes at the PG spot but Elf is a GTD tonight again after missing last game, if he is out then Quickley would be a great play, as would Derrick Rose who started for Payton last game. If Elf is out it’ll also open up more minutes for Alec Burks who has been really solid coming off the bench for the Knicks. Overall though, this is the lowest total on the slate so I won’t be going out of my way to play many guys from this game.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis

4-star play: Julius Randle, Myles Turner, Derrick Rose, Malcolm Brogdon

Deeper Value: Immanuel Quickley, Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks, Dough McDermott

GPP Sleeper: Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickley, Doug McDermott

Utah Jazz @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 221.5

Vegas Spread: Uth -10.5

This game looks really ugly here, as both of these teams play at a slow pace so I think you’d be ok tonight if you fade this game completely. Starting with the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell is going to be your main target, but I really won’t be going out of my way to fit him in. Your other option is going to be Rudy Gobert, but the matchup isn’t the best going up against Vuc. If you’re looking for deeper GPP options, Bojan Bogdanovic and Jordan Clarkson should play solid minutes, and Mike Conley is a safe option if you need a safer PG for your cash games. Outside of those guys I won’t be targeting the Jazz. The Magic aren’t much more exciting on the other side of the ball, as both these teams are slow and defensive minded. If I want to target anyone on the Magic it’ll be Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier as they are the big 2 for the Magic team that carry this offense, both should get plenty of opportunities tonight. Vuc has been on an absolute tear over the past 2 weeks since Gordon went down, and that usage will continue here even going up against Gobert. The Jazz still surprisingly allow a lot of FPs to opposing bigs. Fournier has also been really hot from the field, and he can rack up FPs in a hurry. If you’re looking to get really deep, Terrence Ross should also see plenty of minutes off the bench, but don’t pair him and Fournier. If you need value, Al-Farouq Aminu has also been starting for the Magic and he’s near minimum again tonight.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier

Deeper Value: Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross, Al-Farouq Aminu, Bojan Bogdanovic

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson

Dallas Mavericks @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 236

Vegas Spread: Bkn -3.5

Here we get a really nice hammer game that we can target tonight, as both of these teams play faster and the Nets play 0 defense. For the Mavericks, its looking like Porzingis is going to be traded so I doubt they risk him in this game, so that opens up even more usage for Luka Doncic here, and the matchup doesn’t get any better for him going up against Kyrie Irving and James Harden If Kristaps Porzingis does suit up here, he is firmly in play as Luka will draw a lot of the attention defensively and with Durant out they don’t really have anyone that can matchup with his size. Josh Richardson is also underpriced here as well and he has been playing well. If Porzy misses then that’ll open up minutes for Dorian Finney-Smith as well. Dwight Powell also started last game with Porzingis out, but we saw the majority of the minutes go to Boban Marjanovic and Willie Cauley-Stein. Both would be solid values if Porzy misses again tonight, especially if Boban draws the start again like he did the other night. Maxi Kleber is also in play at his price if Porzingis misses here. Now for the Nets, it looks like Durant will be out again tonight, so we can fire up James Harden again as he’s been white hot in all aspects, he really has been the catalyst they needed in this offense. The Mavericks backcourt is solid against 2 guards, but Luka has been giving up a ton of FPs to opposing PGs. This opens up a lot for Kyrie Irving, I like the idea of ping-ponging him with Luka but it does eat up a good chunk of your salary. Joe Harris will also see a bigger role offensively, as he is a nice GPP sleeper especially if he gets hot from the field. DeAndre Jordan is also a solid value, as is Bruce Brown who has been playing really well in Durant’s absence.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, James Harden, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Josh Richardson, Joe Harris, Bruce Brown

Deeper Value: Boban Marjanovic, Willie-Cauley Stein, Bruce Brown, Maxi Kleber

GPP Sleeper: Bruce Brown, Boban Marjanovic (if he starts), Maxi Kleber

NBA Lock of the Day:

 (Karl-Anthony Towns FD: $9,700 DK: $10,100)

The Wolves will be without D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley here tonight, and with both of those guys off the floor KAT has a 34.7% usage rate and averages 1.53 FPPM. He’s still priced under 10K on FanDuel as well and is the cheapest of the big pay up centers on DraftKings. Add in the matchup going against the undersized WAS frontcourt in a pace up game and we have a recipe where KAT should dominate here tonight.
