Dallas Mavericks @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: Phi -5.5

For the Mavericks, its looking like Porzingis is going to be traded once again, so that opens up even more usage for Luka Doncic here, but he gets a guard today that can actually contain him in Ben Simmons, so I won’t be too over the field on Luka tonight. If Kristaps Porzingis does suit up here, he is firmly in play as Luka will draw a lot of the attention offensively. Josh Richardson is also underpriced here as well and he has been playing well. If Porzy misses then that’ll open up minutes for Dorian Finney-Smith as well. Dwight Powell also started last game with Porzingis out, but we saw the majority of the minutes go to Boban Marjanovic and Willie Cauley-Stein. Both would be solid values if Porzy misses again tonight. For the Sixers, Joel Embiid gets a smash spot here, as the Mavs are not great in their front court lately, especially without Porzingis, plus this guy is matchup proof. Ben Simmons has been tearing it up over the past week as well, and none of these Mavericks guards will be able to contain him with his length and size, they’ve also struggled to contain PGs all year long. Tobias Harris is also about as safe as they come for cash games, as his floor is usually around 35 with a 45 FP ceiling as long as Embiid and Simmons are both healthy. Seth Curry is also a solid value here as well, as he’ll play close to 30 minutes and he’s dirt cheap on both sites, but he did miss last game so that is something to monitor. I also have some interest in Shake Milton here as he plays heavy minutes off the bench. Furkan Korkmaz would also be in play if Curry were to miss as he started in his place last game.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic

4-star play: Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Kristaps Porzingis, Josh Richardson

Deeper Value: Furkan Korkmaz, Dorian Finney-Smith, Shake Milton

GPP Sleeper: Shake Milton

Orlando Magic @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 227.5

Vegas Spread: Bkn -7.5

The Magic get a nice pace up game here, so this is one of the rare times where I’ll actually be going out of my way to target a few of these guys, as the Nets play 0 defense. Starting with the Magic, I want to start with Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier as they are the big 2 for the Magic team that carry this offense, both should get plenty of opportunities tonight. Vuc has been on an absolute tear over the past week, and that usage will continue here against Jordan and Jeff Green who won’t be able to contain him. Fournier has also been really hot from the field, and he can rack up FPs in a hurry. If you’re looking to get really deep, Terrence Ross should also see plenty of minutes off the bench, but don’t pair him and Fournier. If you need value, Al-Farouq Aminu has also been starting for the Magic and he’s near minimum again tonight. Now for the Nets, it looks like Durant will be out again tonight, so we can fire up James Harden again as he’s been white hot in all aspects. The Magic backcourt isn’t great defensively, so we could be looking at another monster game for him here, he has the highest ceiling of anyone on the slate. Kyrie Irving is also definitely in play here, but I like the idea more of ping-ponging Harden with Vuc in your lineups tonight. Joe Harris will also see a bigger role offensively, as he is a nice GPP sleeper especially if he gets hot from the field. DeAndre Jordan will also have to play more minutes here to go up against Vuc as well, so he’s firmly in play as well.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, James Harden, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Evan Fournier, Joe Harris, Terrence Ross

Deeper Value: DeAndre Jordan, Al-Farouq Aminu

GPP Sleeper: None

Sacramento Kings @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Nyk -2

This is a game that we’re going to want to target here as well, as the Knicks get a nice pace up matchup here against the Kings. Starting with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox gets a great matchup here, as the Knicks backcourt is a mess defensively, and he disappointed a bit last game against the Nets, I have no problem going back to him here. Tyrese Haliburton has also been playing really well here too, as he was the dominant one in that Nets game the other night.  Marvin Bagley has also been on a minutes restriction, but he’s been white hot as well as he is looking to boost his trade stock, he gets a solid matchup here against the Knicks weak frontcourt. Richaun Holmes also has a nice matchup here, but I wouldn’t pair him and Bagley in the same lineup. For the Knicks, the obvious play here is going to be Julius Randle as he gets a solid matchup here against the Kings, and he’s been doing it all for thie Knicks offense all year long, plus he’ll soak up some of the void left by Mitchell Robinson. If you’re looking for cash options, RJ Barrett is solid, but the ceiling just hasn’t been there for him to really smash at his price. Nerlens Noel is also firmly in play here, but he is a GTD as well so that is something to monitor. Elfrid Payton and Immanuel Quickley have essentially been splitting minutes at the PG but Elf is a GTD tonight, so if he misses then that’ll create some nice value with Quickley likely starting, and it’ll open up more minutes for Alec Burks as well.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Julius Randle

4-star play: RJ Barrett, Tyrese Haliburton, Marvin Bagley, Richaun Holmes

Deeper Value: Immanuel Quickley, Alec Burks

GPP Sleeper: Alec Burks, Immanuel Quickley (if Elf misses)

Los Angeles Clippers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 229

Vegas Spread: Lac -8

For the Clippers, the usage is pretty skewed towards a few players, so there really aren’t a ton of guys you want to target on this Clippers team. Paul George has returned and made an immediate impact as he has been lighting it up in the past few games since his return from injury. The Grizzlies do struggle defensively against bigger athletic guards so this is a great spot for him tonight. Kawhi Leonard is also in play here, as he should be able to get whatever he wants here as the Grizzlies don’t have anyone that is athletic or big enough to matchup with him defensively. Serge Ibaka is also a solid play as is Ivica Zubac if you think that this game gets ugly. Overall I won’t be going too heavy on the Clippers side of the ball unless we get news that one of Kawhi or PG13 are out for rest purposes. For the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas has the best matchup of any of the Grizzlies, which really isn’t saying much because this is not a great spot for this team overall. Ja Morant has a tough matchup here going against this Clippers back court that doesn’t allow much of anything to opposing guards, plus it looks like Dillon Brooks may miss this game as well. If Brooks misses, that’ll open up minutes for Grayson Allen but given the matchup he’s not someone I’m too heavy on either. Brandon Clarke should also see big minutes here, as should Kyle Anderson, but overall this Grizzlies team is likely a fade all together for me tonight.

5-star play: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Ja Morant

Deeper Value: Grayson Allen, Serge Ibaka, Patrick Beverley

GPP Sleeper: Ivica Zubac

Washington Wizards @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: 236.5

Vegas Spread: Den -7

This is another game that intrigues me, as the Wizards have been playing some really good ball lately, including their win over the Lakers the other night, but they did get blown out a bit by the Clippers, which was to be expected on the 2nd half of a B2B after an OT game. Russell Westbrook has picked up his play as of late, as he has been playing pissed off which makes him intriguing tonight especially going against Murray. Bradley Beal will be in store for massive usage once again, and he is matchup proof, but it is hard for both him and Westy to hit their ceilings as long as they are on the floor at the same time. Rui Hachimura played big minutes as well, and he gets a much better matchup tonight as he’ll likely see a lot of Michael Porter Jr. who is still a mess defensively. Moe Wagner continues to start as well, but hasn’t been logging big minutes, but he get a few more in the blowout the other night and played really well, so he is someone to keep an eye on tonight. Davis Bertans has been streaky this year, but if he gets hot from the field he can win you a GPP at his price. For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is in a phenomenal spot here, as the Wizards are horrible defensively against bigs, so he’ll be threatening for a triple double once again in this game tonight. Jamal Murray has also been on a tear for the past week or so, and his price hasn’t quite caught up to his recent production and the Wizards overall are still kind of a mess defensively. If Harris misses again, that’ll open up more minutes for Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr. as well. Both are due for a big game. And if you think this game gets ugly then you should have some shares of Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo as well. I still like Morris either way as he’ll likely start again alongside Murray with Harris on the shelf.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Will Barton, Michael Porter Jr., Rui Hachimura

Deeper Value: Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo

GPP Sleeper: Michael Porter Jr., Davis Bertans

New Orleans Pelicans @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 241

Vegas Spread: Mil -9

This game has the highest total on the slate, but the spread makes us a bit worried. However, the Bucks have been letting teams hang around and this Pelicans team has been playing some great basketball so I can see them keeping this one competitive. Overall there is some leverage to be gained here but there are definite blowout risks here. For the Pelicans, Zion Williamson has been tearing it up over the past 2 weeks, and him going against the Greek Freak should have some fireworks. I like him a lot tonight. Brandon Ingram hasn’t been in his best form lately, but they’ll need him to pick it up here tonight going against the Bucks. Lonzo Ball also has a solid matchup, especially if Jrue is out again. Josh Hart has also been playing heavy minutes off the bench, and his minutes are blowout proof, so I love him in GPPs tonight. For the Bucks, the big news hinges on Jrue Holiday as he is a GTD at the moment, he has been out the past few weeks though so I’m going to analyze this as if he is out again tonight. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ceiling is one of the highest on the slate if Jrue misses, and given the total on this game this is one where he can go for 70+. It would also be a nice boost to Khris Middleton who struggled last game after going nuclear the game before, I like his odds to go off again here tonight especially at his price on FanDuel. DJ Augustin has also been starting with Jrue out, and he presents a solid value play as well, as does Donte DiVincenzo who has stepped up his game the past few weeks. There is definitely some leverage to be gained here in the hammer game, especially if Jrue Holiday is out, because I do think this one will stay close.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Zion Williamson

4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Khris Middleton, Lonzo Ball

Deeper Value: DJ Augustin, Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart

GPP Sleeper: Josh Hart

NBA Lock of the Day:

(Nikola Jokic FD: $10,800 DK: $10,400)

Jokic’s price has come back down to under 11K on both sites, and he gets the best matchup anyone could possibly dream of going up against this weak and undersized Wizards front court. Add in the fact that the Wizards have been keeping games close over the past week, and we have a recipe for a Jokic triple-double here tonight. He should dominate from start to finish here and he’s my favorite play on the slate as I think he goes for 60+ tonight.
