Full Court Press Breakdown for NBA DFS 2/24:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “Irzarl29” on a $40k win recently, congrats!!

Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

We’ll kick this Monday slate off with the Boston Celtics, these two teams played back-to-back games last week so we have something to work off of here. Jayson Tatum scored at least 50 DraftKings points in both of those games and is a guy I like even at this elevated price tag. Jaylen Brown has back-to-back games with at least 46 DraftKings points and is a guy you can get to as well here, we know the floor and ceiling are pretty nice on him. Kemba Walker scored 52 DraftKings points against the Hawks last week, but just isn’t a guy I’m getting much of right now, his price has come down a little bit, but I don’t think he beats you by fading him. The rest of this team is GPP flyers at best with guys like Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson owning the frontcourt duties. From the Hawks, keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for news regarding John Collins, he left yesterday’s game with a concussion and is questionable here. Trae Young shot 1-7 from three-point range last night and still ended with 56 DraftKings points. He now has at least 56 fantasy points in four straight games and is a guy I like at under $10k on DraftKings. Clint Capela is averaging 50.6 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Celtics this season. The Celtics can be beaten in the frontcourt, so he’s a solid option. Kevin Huerter had a big bounce-back game last night, I have no issue going back to him here hoping he stays hot at a nice price tag. Then guys like Cam Reddish and Danilo Gallinari are solid GPP options, but I’m not playing Tony Snell, I don’t care what he did last night, he’s going to get you 6 fantasy points more often than not.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Trae Young

4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Clint Capela, Kevin Huerter

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kemba Walker, Cam Reddish, Danilo Gallinari, John Collins

Houston Rockets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Rockets, DeMarcus Cousins was officially released yesterday so he is no longer in the picture. Expect guys like Jae’sean Tate, PJ Tucker, and Justin Patton to run the big man minutes going forward. Patton looks like a really nice value option at $3.5k, he played 21 minutes last game on his way to 17.5 DraftKings points and they’ll need some size against Jarrett Allen and company in this one. I’m not going to play PJ Tucker, I called this out in our VIP Coaching forum on Monday when Tucker was chalky, the guy is averaging like 0.5 fantasy points per minute this season, so he’s giving you zero ceiling, pivot to someone else in his price range. Both Victor Oladipo and Eric Gordon are questionable here so keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed, if they’re both out again we can fire up John Wall and some of these ancillary pieces with guys like Danuel House, David Nwaba, and Sterling Brown. From the Cavaliers, Jarrett Allen stands out as a great option here, he has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games and as I mentioned the Rockets don’t really have a true big man to slow him down right now. Collin Sexton looked pretty good last night, but I may just take my chances on Darius Garland for $1000 cheaper, he’s playing similar minutes and producing about the same as well. Cedi Osman came off the bench yesterday and only saw 20 minutes, Taurean Prince is questionable for this one, and at a price increase, I think we can get away from Osman here unless he’s starting.

5-star play: Jarrett Allen

4-star play: Jae’sean Tate, Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, John Wall, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland

Deeper Value: Justin Patton

GPP Sleeper: Danuel House, David Nwaba, Sterling Brown, Cedi Osman

Golden State Warriors @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Ind -2.0

Starting with the Warriors, Steph Curry returned last game to score 60 DraftKings points on the Knicks, this is another matchup that I don’t love. The Pacers can be pesky on defense, but we know Curry has a huge ceiling and he has at least 50 fantasy points in four straight so I get it if you want to go here. Kelly Oubre seems to have found his footing as of late, he has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. Draymond Green will continue to rack up the peripherals and play pretty solid minutes, I have no issue with him in this one. Andrew Wiggins hasn’t really shown us that huge ceiling that he can break out every once in a while this season, I’m still okay with him in GPPs, but another guy that I just don’t love the matchup. Lastly, James Wiseman returned last game to play 16 minutes, I would assume those minutes get up into the 20’s here, but I’ll wait for his minutes restriction to be lifted before playing him. From the Pacers, they last played about a week ago against the Wolves where Domanatas Sabonis put up 82.5 DraftKings points. It’s another great matchup for him here, but I just don’t think I can pay $10.5k for him. Malcolm Brogdon has at least 52 DraftKings points in two straight games as well and makes for a solid secondary option. Myles Turner should do whatever he wants against this Warriors frontcourt, he’s been volatile this season, so more of a GPP option, but I do like him here. Then we round this team out with secondary GPP options in guys like TJ McConnell, Jeremy Lamb, and Justin Holiday.

5-star play: Steph Curry

4-star play: Kelly Oubre, Draymond Green, Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Andrew Wiggins, Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, TJ McConnell, Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 227.5

Vegas Spread: Chi -4.5

Starting with the Wolves, this is a spot I really like Karl-Anthony Towns in, he should be able to do whatever he wants here. He has at least 55 DraftKings points in two straight and is still under $10k on DraftKings. Malik Beasley and Ricky Rubio will continue to run this backcourt with D’Angelo Russell out and are solid options in a nice matchup. Then it’s really just Anthony Edwards as a GPP option, I don’t have a ton of interest in the rest of this team really. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine came down to Earth last game against the Rockets but gets a great matchup here against a bad defensive team. I have no issue paying this price for him in this spot, but more of a secondary option. Coby White has looked pretty good over his last two games and is a guy I think you can get to in GPPs, he’s too volatile to trust in cash games though. Thad Young continues to put up really nice numbers in limited minutes, I have trouble playing him because he’s only getting around 20 minutes per night, but he’s certainly producing. Wendell Carter Jr. was a guy I was really high on last time out and he didn’t disappoint but going for 45.75 DraftKings points. I think you can go right back to him here, the Wolves interior defense doesn’t scare me one bit. Lastly, Patrick Williams is soaking up a bunch of minutes on the wing and is a guy you can get to in GPPs if you’re looking for a cheaper option from this team.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Zach LaVine, Malik Beasley, Wendell Carter Jr.

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards, Thad Young, Coby White, Patrick Williams

Toronto Raptors @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: NA

Vegas Spread: NA

Starting with the Raptors, it sounds like Kyle Lowry has a good chance of returning here so this likely moves Norman Powell back to the bench and out of play here. Fred VanVleet will see a decrease in expected production as well, but we’ve seen him do it with Lowry on the court too. The only thing with him is his price tag, it’s not exactly friendly in a pace-down spot against the Heat. Pascal Siakam continues to look really good, he’s averaging 35.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Heat on the season, so more of a secondary play at this price tag. We kind of know the story with Chris Boucher, if he gets good run he likely will produce, but a GPP option because the minutes are never guaranteed on him. Lastly, OG Anunoby is a fine GPP option, but not a guy I’m prioritizing by any means. From the Heat, Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic come into this one as questionable, so that’s some news we’ll have to keep an eye out for. Jimmy Butler had a down game last time out in his standards going for just 37 DraftKings points, I don’t have an issue going right back to him here, he’s been really good since returning from Covid. Bam Adebayo has been really consistent as of late and has at least 43 DraftKings points in five straight games, he should have no problem doing what he wants against this Raptors frontcourt. Kendrick Nunn has at least 45 DraftKings points in two straight and is playing massive minutes, he’s a guy I like if Herro and Dragic continue to be out here. Then guys like Kelly Olynyk and Duncan Robinson are always in play for tournaments for me due to their ability to get a bucket.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adabyo

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Lowry, OG Anunoby, Chris Boucher, Kelly Olynyk, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn

Detroit Pistons @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Nop -9.5

Starting with the Pistons, Dennis Smith Jr. bounced back last night going for 25.75 DraftKings points, and should continue to get the start for this team at point guard. That being said, Saben Lee has been getting better minutes, going for at least 29 minutes in back-to-back games. He has at least 30 DraftKings points in each of those games as well and is one of the better value options on the slate. Jerami Grant has been fine as of late and I have no issue going to him here as a secondary option, just not a guy I’m thrilled to play. Mason Plumlee dropped 48.5 DraftKings points on the Pels earlier this season and is a guy you can get to as well, his price has come down as of late. Then you can round this team out with guys like Saddiq Bey and Josh Jackson as GPP options. From the Pelicans, Zion Williamson’s price tag has come way up, he’s more of a secondary GPP option for me at that price tag. The same can be said for Brandon Ingram, but would prefer him for cheaper and a similar ceiling. Lonzo Ball has at least 32 DraftKings points in three straight and should be able to do whatever he wants here, no issue with him in this spot. Then guys like Eric Bledsoe and Josh Hart are GPP options, I’ll fade Steven Adams as he’ll likely be eased back in here.

5-star play: Saben Lee

4-star play: Dennis Smith Jr., Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson

Deeper Value: Saben Lee

GPP Sleeper: Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart, Saddiq Bey, Josh Jackson

San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 218

Vegas Spread: Okc -1.5

Starting with the Spurs, they haven’t played in a while due to Covid protocols so there’s a chance they come out a bit rusty here. DeMar DeRozan, Keldon Johnson, Derrick White, and Rudy Gay are all out here while LaMarcus Aldridge is questionable, so a bit of a mess. Whoever starts here is going to look like a pretty good option due to all the usage that will be open on this team. The main guy appears to be Dejounte Murray who should run this offense and is priced nicely. Jakob Poeltl is in play but I would want Aldridge to be out then guys like Patty Mills, Lonnie Walker, and Trey Lyles all look like nice values as well. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander came down a bit last game but still had a nice night, he should do what he wants here in a matchup against a depleted Spurs team. Al Horford is a fine option, but his production has been down as of late, I don’t know that he’s a guy I’ll necessarily get much of on this slate. With this team starting to get healthy again, I don’t want to pay this price tag for guys like Hamidou Diallo, Kenrich Williams, and Isaiah Roby, so they’re mostly fades for me. Really just SGA and Horford with a sprinkle of Darius Bazley in this one

5-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dejounte Murray

4-star play: LaMarcus Aldridge, Lonnie Walker, Al Horford, Darius Bazley

Deeper Value: Patty Mills, Lonnie Walker, Trey Lyles

GPP Sleeper: Patty Mills, Lonnie Walker, Trey Lyles, Darius Bazley

Charlotte Hornets @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 225.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -9.5

Starting with the Hornets, this is actually another tough matchup for the Hornets, the Suns have been sneaky good on defense this season. That being said, LaMelo Ball is pretty much matchup-proof at this point, I don’t have an issue with him deeper GPPs. Devonte’ Graham is listed as doubtful here so we can go right back to the well on Terry Rozier who is crushing right now, he has at least 50 DraftKings points in three of his last four before coming down to Earth last time out, but the price tag reflects that as well. I don’t mind getting to Gordon Hayward here either, however, he comes into this one is questionable so keep an eye on his status in this one. Lastly, PJ Washington and Cody Zeller are fine GPP options, the DeAndre Ayton-led frontcourt doesn’t exactly scare me. From the Suns, Devin Booker bounced back last game with a 45 point fantasy outing and the matchup isn’t too terrible, I just don’t really get to this team when they’re at full strength. Chris Paul has had back-to-back duds both due to blowout, if people are off him here I have no issue taking a leverage stand and taking him in a nice matchup. DeAndre Ayton should do whatever he wants in this one, the Hornets are the worst rebounding team in the league. Lastly, these wings like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder are fine filler pieces to round out the back-end of your roster but not anyone you should make as a priority.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: PJ Washington, Cody Zeller, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Dario Saric

Los Angeles Lakers @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 220

Vegas Spread: Utah -8.5

Starting with the Lakers, it’s hard to say you don’t like LeBron James when Anthony Davis is off the court, but this is a really tough spot at this price tag and one that the Lakers may have trouble keeping close. Kyle Kuzma has at least 30 DraftKings points in 8 of his last 9 games and makes sense again here, but again, a really tough matchup. Montrezl Harrell would be your GPP pivot from him for about $1000 cheaper. He’s been pretty solid with Davis off the court, volatile though. From the Jazz, they’re similar to the Suns in that I really don’t have much interest in this team when they’re at full strength. They always seem to be priced as they should, so guys like Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and Mike Conley make for fine secondary options while the ancillary guys like Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingels, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Royce O’Neale are mostly secondary tournament options.

5-star play: None

4-star play: LeBron James, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingels, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Royce O’Neale, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell
