Full Court Press Breakdown for NBA DFS 2/19:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “Irzarl29” on a $40k win recently, congrats!!

Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: Gsw -2.5

Starting with the Warriors, Steph Curry dropped 67.5 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season and seems a bit underpriced here. Draymond Green is questionable right now, so keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him, this team would really be hurting in the paint without his presence. Then the combo of Kelly Oubre and Andrew Wiggins are more tournament options than anything for me, they’ve been pretty volatile this season. As much as it may hurt to hear, Eric Paschall is in play here due to the minutes he’s seen, especially if Green ends up needing to miss this one. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic is back under $10k on DraftKings here, and I mentioned how shorthanded the Warriors are in the frontcourt, he should do what he wants in this one. He has a 30.6% usage rate and 1.5 fantasy points per minute with Cole Anthony and Aaron Gordon off the court this season, that’s a huge usage rate for a big man. Terrence Ross is shooting early and often while this team is shorthanded, I never really love playing Ross due to how scoring dependent he is unless he’s underpriced, but that’s not the case here. The only other guy I would have interest in on this team would be Michael Carter-Williams who should continue to see heavy minutes with Anthony out and Frank Mason out of the picture. Lastly, Evan Fournier is a fine option, but probably not someone I get to on a pretty big slate.

5-star play: Steph Curry, Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Draymond Green, Kelly Oubre, Andre Wiggins, Eric Paschall, Terrence Ross, Michael Carter-Williams

Deeper Value: Eric Paschall

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre, Terrence Ross, Evan Fournier

Denver Nuggets @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Den -8.5

Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has at least 57 DraftKings points in four straight games and should do whatever he wants in this one against a poor defensive unit. The Cavs have actually been better defensively than people give them credit for, but it’s Nikola Joki… out and it’s his birthday! Jamal Murray had that ceiling game we’ve been waiting for last time out where he went for 61 DraftKings points. I like him again here against some smaller guards in the Sexland backcourt. Michael Porter Jr. was able to bounce back nicely last time out after two straight stinkers. I’m willing to go back to the well here but will need news on Will Barton, Gary Harris, and Paul Millsap who all come into this one as questionable. Keep an eye on our VIP Coaching forum for updates surrounding this team. From the Cavs, Jarrett Allen continues to produce nicely as the starting center for this team. It’s a really tough matchup against Jokic so he’s not my favorite option, but they’ll definitely need his size out there. Collin Sexton is playing massive minutes right now, I don’t love the matchup but the price tag is something that I have an interest in. The same can be said for Darius Garland, he feels way too cheap here for the minutes he’ll see in this one. Lastly, Taurean Prince is out again here so we should see Cedi Osman play all the minutes he can handle. He scored 38 DraftKings points last time out at near min price but saw his price skyrocket due to it. I’m still okay with getting to him as a secondary option.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Collin Sexton, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland

Deeper Value: JaVale McGee

GPP Sleeper: Michael Porter Jr., Cedi Osman, JaVale McGee

Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 225.5

Vegas Spread: Bost -4.0

We just saw this game the last time these two teams played so we have some data to work off of here. Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young bounced back in a big way in this matchup last time out, so I have no issue going right back to him here. Clint Capela’s price is getting to a nice range on DraftKings and has at least 40 DraftKings points in three straight games. The Celtics can be beaten in the paint and on the boards, so I like Capela here as well. We kind of know what John Collins is at this point, he’s going to be a volatile piece but has a nice ceiling for GPPs, but too unpredictable for cash games. I’m not sure why I don’t get to Kevin Huerter all that much, I just have a hard time stomaching this price tag on DraftKings, he’s been really volatile as of late so more of a tournament guy than anything if you’re wanting to get here. Danilo Gallinari had a dud last time out, and just might be more volatile than we want to think going forward, but he’s a guy I’m willing to go to at this price tag while De’Andre Hunter is still out. Then Cam Reddish is more of a GPP option if you’re looking to get more pieces on this team. From the Celtics, Jayson Tatum dropped 55 DraftKings points in this spot last time out and is a guy I will get plenty of here. Jaylen Brown is listed as questionable so we will need to keep an eye on his status, if he’s out Tatum becomes an even better play than he already was. If Brown plays, he has been really consistent as of late, but we haven’t seen that crazy 50+ point fantasy game in a while, so more of a secondary tournament option. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed regarding his status for tonight’s game. Kemba Walker didn’t do a whole lot last time out and it’s really not a very favorable price tag on him, I don’t see myself getting a whole lot of him here. The frontcourt isn’t exactly one I want any part of either now that Daniel Theis is back from injury. Tristan Thompson has at least 27 minutes in back-to-back games, but more of a value option for GPPs. The opportunity cost is pretty high given he’s center only on DraftKings.

5-star play: Trae Young, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Clint Capela, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Jaylen Brown

Deeper Value: Danilo Gallinari

GPP Sleeper: John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, Daniel Theis, Kemba Walker, Tristan Thompson

Chicago Bulls @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 230

Vegas Spread: Phi -8.0

Starting with the Bulls,  Zach LaVine has 35 minutes in four of his last five games and at least 45 DraftKings points in seven straight. I have no issue in getting to him in a pretty solid matchup here. Coby White came back to Earth last game and is just going to be a tournament option it seems this season, he’s been pretty volatile. Wendell Carter Jr. got his minutes up to 27 last game and they’ll need his size here against Embiid, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him over 30 minutes here, I don’t mind getting to him in tournaments. Patrick Williams and Denzel Valentine should continue to fill up those extra minutes that are available with Otto Porter and Lauri Markkanen out. Williams would be my preferred option due to the secured minutes that he’s seeing nightly. From the Sixers, it’s a nice pace-up spot for them so we should be able to find some decent options here. Ben Simmons missed the last game but is probable to play tonight, I’m not going to pay $9.1k for him honestly. You can get to more consistent guys in this price range, he’s a fine GPP target, however. Joel Embiid has at least 50 DraftKings points in five straight games and should do whatever he wants here. Tobias Harris has back-to-back 58 point fantasy nights, but one game was without Embiid and one game was without Simmons, if they’re both back here (which they should be), I’ll let other people chase those box scores. Lastly, Seth Curry ran a lot of point guard minutes with Simmons out last game, I don’t hate him for GPPs, but he should move back to his shooting role here.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, Joel Embiid

4-star play: Wendell Carter Jr., Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Coby White, Patrick Williams, Denzel Valentine, Wendell Carter Jr., Seth Curry

Detroit Pistons @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -4.5

Starting with the Pistons, the big news on Monday was that Blake Griffin is essentially done playing for the Pistons as they search for a trade partner on him. So, this should open up minutes for Saddiq Bey to continue to show what he’s capable of in this frontcourt, along with Jerami Grant to see an expanded role. Bey has been starting and now has at least 27 minutes in three straight games. Grant bounced back last time out going for 48 DraftKings points, his price tag is pretty fair here. Mason Plumlee came down to Earth last game but still saw 33 minutes which is intriguing. I like him at this price tag against another big in Joe Val on the other side of this game. Delon Wright seems a bit underpriced here and will continue to see heavy minutes and should see a usage bump with Blake Griffin now off the court. From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has looked great his past two games and looks to be finding his footing here. It’s a great matchup and a guy I’m good with him all formats. Jonas Valanciunas bounced back last time out and is someone I’m good with getting back to here. He’s always been a nice point-per-minute player in his career. Kyle Anderson has performed well as of late, but Brandon Clarke has returned and should start to cut into some of his production so not a guy I love here. Lastly, Dillon Brooks is questionable here so keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed and who is impacted if he’s out here.

5-star play: Ja Morant

4-star play: Jerami Grant, Saddiq Bey, Mason Plumlee, Delon Wright, Jonas Valanciunas

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Anderson, Brandon Clarke

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -10.5

Starting with the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returned last game to play 33 minutes, so don’t have to worry about any sort of minutes limit on him. I like him here in a pace-up spot against a Milwaukee defense that is really struggling right now. Al Horford scored 43 DraftKings points in this spot last time these two played, he’s a nice option again here. With this team starting to get healthy again, I don’t want to pay this price tag for guys like Hamidou Diallo, Kenrich Williams, and Isaiah Roby, so they’re mostly fades for me. Really just SGA and Horford with a sprinkle of Darius Bazley in this one. From the Bucks, Jrue Holiday’s status is unknown at this point, he’s been out for a few weeks due to Covid protocol, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for news surrounding him. Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing massive minutes right now and I could see this being a spot where Coach Budenholzer decides to give him a bit of a rest. If, and that’s a big if with the way this team is playing, they get out to a big lead, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Giannis’s minutes come down a bit. Khris Middleton has been terrible in his last two games, but the minutes should be there for him and it’s a nicer matchup. Donte DiVincenzo has picked up the slack a bit with Jrue out, I like him as long as Holiday is out again. Then guys like Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and Bryn Forbes are all GPP options to round out this team.

5-star play: Giannis Antetkounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Al Horford, Darius Bazley, Khris Middleton

Deeper Value: Bryn Forbes

GPP Sleeper: Darius Bazley, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Bryn Forbes

Phoenix Suns @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 231

Vegas Spread: Pho -3.5

Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker has struggled in this spot in his two games this season. He had a bit of a down game last time out, I don’t know that I see myself getting to him all that much here on a big slate. Chris Paul looked great last game and has at least 47 DraftKings points in three of his last four games, I don’t mind going back to him here. DeAndre Ayton has been pretty average as of late. I don’t have a real strong opinion on him here, the price tag is nice, however. Then these wings are more secondary options than anything, guys like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. From the Pelicans, From the Pels, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson are both solid options here. If you’re looking for an upside guy for tournaments you’re guy is Ingram while Zion is more of your cash guy although he does have back-to-back 50 point fantasy outings. Lonzo Ball bounced back last time out, he’s a fine GPP option but not a guy I’m prioritizing. The same can be said for guys like Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart, and Steven Adams. Speaking of Steven Adams, keep an eye on his availability here, if he’s out Guillermo Hernangomez would make for a pretty nice value option.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson

Deeper Value: Guillermo Hernangomez

GPP Sleeper: DeAndre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Hart

Toronto Raptors @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 225.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -3.5

Starting with the Raptors, the big news here is that Kyle Lowry was ruled out for yesterday’s game against the Bucks. If he’s out again we can go right back to Norman Powell and Fred VanVleet pretty confidently after they both looked great last game. Pascal Siakam also looked great going for nearly 50 DraftKings points. The Wolves just gave up 80 fantasy points to Domantas Sabonis the other day and have been terrible against opposing bigs, I like going to Siakam here quite a bit. Lastly, we kind of know the story on Chris Boucher now, if he gets minutes he’s probably going to be pretty solid. However, the minutes are always up in the air so he’s more of a GPP guy than anything. From the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has looked pretty good since returning from the Covid list and got a 50 burger last time out. He’s too cheap right now and is a guy I like getting to here. D’Angelo Russell will be out again here so it will be the Malik Beasley and Ricky Rubio show in the frontcourt. Anthony Edwards came crashing down to Earth after a 50 burger a few games ago. He’s a rookie so the volatility is to be expected. Lastly, Jarred Vanderbilt saw his minutes come down last game and is more of a punt value option if you’re desperate.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Norman Powell, Fred VanVleet, Malik Beasley

Deeper Value: Jarred Vanderbilt

GPP Sleeper: Chris Boucher, Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards

Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: Uta -4.5

We saw this game last time these two played, so we have something to work off of here. Starting with the Jazz, keep an eye on our Breaking News feed for an update on Mike Conley, it sounds like he’s questionable here. Donovan Mitchell struggled in this matchup earlier this season but looked better last time out with George and Kawhi off the court. I really like this price tag on Rudy Gobert it hasn’t budged since the last game where he dropped 55 DraftKings points on them. He makes a lot of sense as your cash game center, also playable in GPPs, he’s shown a nice ceiling this season. Then we get to these wings who will be more GPP options than anything, it’s tough to determine who will have the good scoring night on any given night, so guys like Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale, and Joe Ingles are tournament guys for me. From the Clippers, it’s pretty hard to break this team down right now with Paul George and Nic Batum out and Kawhi Leonard being questionable, so keep an eye on the VIP Coaching forum for news and updates surrounding this team. We’ll have a more inclusive breakdown of this one once we get news on these guys.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Royce O’Neale, Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell
