Welcome back fellow MMA fight fans to a Saturday Night of UFC action. This time we have a 11-fight card taking place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. There are several very close matches on this card which will make for some interesting choices in your tournament builds. But, that’s not what this article is about. My goal is to help navigate you through this interesting card and find some solid fighters to begin your cash game construction with.
For your 1st time readers, welcome and I hope you enjoy the article. For all you regular readers, you will notice a change. Moving forward I am going to gear this article for cash games. But a major point we make here at DFS Army is proper bankroll management. A major part of that is, of course, cash games. It may not be the sexiest way to build your bankroll but, over time it can be the most consistent. MMA UFC Cash Game Basics for DFS
In cash games, unlike tournaments, we are trying to build a solid floor with our lineups. Many times that may mean using a fighter with great odds to win a match or taking someone who is severely mispriced in a solid spot. Cash games are often times card dependent. For example, if a fighter is expected to be chalky in cash games and I feel they are in a good spot I have no problem eating the chalk and just rostering him. After all, he’s chalky for a solid reason. One major difference between cash and tournament play is getting past your aversion to play the chalk. Often times, the chalk makes a lot of sense. (I’m going to use the word “chalk” a lot, if new, chalk is slang for “popular player.”) If you ever have any questions pertaining to cash games feel free to reach out to me on Twitter, or if you are a VIP shoot me a dm.

Magomed Ankalaev (-370) 9.3k
Anklaev is the biggest favorite on this 11 Fight Card and he is the most expensive fighter on DraftKings. Magomed typically scores well in fights he wins Inside The Distance (ITD). All you need to do is see that he has posted 104.9+ DraftKings points in all of his wins ITD. since he lands 6.63 Takedowns (TD’s) per fight. When you factor in the fact that Vegas likes this fight to end Inside The Distance (ITD) -205 and Ankalaev being the winner in this scenario -205 it’s hard to not see why. To sum this all up I am personally locking him into my cash game builds and strongly suggest you do as well!
Ciryl Gane (-265) 9k
Not only does Gane land a good amount of volume in his fights (3.57 Significant Strikes per minute), but he also averages 3.57 Submission attempts per fight. Add to the mix that Vegas expects this to end ITD (-255) and Gane has posted 98+ DraftKings points in 3 of his 4 UFC wins Thus giving Gane a path to a solid score. I am fairly confident Gane gets the win. Overall Gane is a fighter I am forcing into my cash game builds and think you should consider doing so also.
Ashley Yoder (+300) 7k
In order to fit the higher-priced favorites on this card you are going to have to punt with an underdog or 2 on this card. Yoder is my favorite cash punt on the entire card when you factor in her salary. This fight is expected to go to decision with a prop of (-390). I see no reason Ashley doesn’t reach 30-40 DraftKings points in a decision loss considering she should have 15 mintues to accumulate points and she has already faced her opponent and scored 37 in a decision loss. That’s all we need from her at this salary and by using her in your cash builds it allows more flexibility with the rest of your lineup construction. This is the route I am taking on this card and I think you should entertain the thought as well.
Sure, these are MY favorite cash game plays, but maybe you play GPPs or like others. That’s fine…..you need tools, though. MMA UFC Fight To Target In Hybrids/Tournaments
Now that we covered some cash plays. Let’s breakdown 1 fight I really think you should get exposure to in your hybrid and tournament lineups.
Ramazan Kuramagomedov (-110) 8.3k vs Alex Oliveira (-110) 7.9k
This fight carries a Fight Ends Inside The Distance prop of -130, but it falls right in the mid-range. At both their salaries the winner of this fight should be on the optimal lineup. I will personally have a good amount of exposure to this fight in tournaments (north of 60). Overall this fight will score well for DraftKings purposes My preferred play is Ramazan because he has the better ground game of the two. Regardless, be sure you get plenty of exposure to both fights as a whole. If you plan on playing multiple lineups in tournaments this is a great fight to target both sides of in my opinion.
