Clipping Coupons for NFL Week 6

Another week is in the books and now we start this puzzle all over again for week 6. This is the best time of the year for me and there is a ton of money to be won in Daily Fantasy Football every single week. Somebody can win a million dollars each week on DraftKings and FanDuel and there are tons of other contests that can fit your personal DFS goals. However, if a player is a good play on one site, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are a good play on the other site. Salaries are everything in DFS and in this article I am going to point out the best deals on each week on each site and help you clip some coupons if you are looking to bargain shop around the DFS industry.

Here are some of the best deals this week at each offensive position:

Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins on FanDuel $7,100. Dalvin Cook was hurt last weekend and likely sits this game. That makes this Alexander Mattison week. Last week in a primetime game, everyone saw Mattison come in and rush for 20 times for 112 yards, plus 3 targets. With Cook out that will lead to Mattison being the workhorse this week against a bad Falcons defense and everybody is going to want to roster him. However, I think a sneaky GPP move here is to use Cousins stacked with one of his WRs and hope that their points come through the air.

Cousins attempted the most passes of the season last week and he completed as many as his 2nd most attempts in a game. He also has two solid WRs to throw to and Mattison can do work out of the backfield. I do like Cousins this week to make my team different while still attacking that bad Falcons defense. We are getting a bit of a discount on him this week on FanDuel priced as the 13th highest QB on the main slate compared to 9th over on DraftKings. Cousins is going to be one of my favorite GPP options of the week, but I do prefer to clip that coupon and use him on FanDuel. He is the only QB rated as a perfect 100 on our Domination Station Optimizer over at DFS ARMY so that makes me like him even more.

Joe Burrow on DraftKings $5,400. This is a tough matchup against the Colts defense, but the Bengals should be trailing in this game which will lead to more Burrow work. He has looked decent this year (thanks to massive volume) and even has a 61-pass attempt game under his belt. With AJ Green basically quitting on the team, we have easier stack options with Boyd or Higgins and stacking this team allows you to pay up in other positions. FanDuel has Burrow priced as the 12 highest QB this week and DraftKings has 19 other people priced the same or more than him. If I am using any Burrow this week it will be over on DraftKings where he presents a better value.

Running Backs

Ronald Jones on FanDuel $5,800. Jones has had back to back 100+ yard games and now he is going against the Packers who have allowed more than 35 FD points to opposing RBs per week this season. This is the late game of the week and it has a 54-point game total, so it is a solid game to stack. I like stacking the GB side more so but Jones is a solid run-back option for the Bucs and if Fournette is still banged up. Maybe they ease him back into the offense slowly and Jones can get 20 touches in another good matchup?

Derrick Henry on DraftKings $7,300. Henry is a beast, but he is usually going to be cheaper on DraftKings because of their full-point PPR. He isn’t used much in the pass game and we are usually relying on him to score multiple TDs to have a great game. On FanDuel he is priced as the top RB but aside from Aaron Jones, he is $1,400 more than every other RB on the slate (pretty rich for the purposes of this article, but could still be a fine play in the overall scheme of things). On DraftKings, he is the 2nd priced RB, but he is only $100 more than Mattison and he makes for a nice pivot play off the notable chalk. We have him as the top Fpts/$ play on the slate in our NFL Research Station, and I think he is a great GPP play on Draftkings at potentially lower ownership than he should be.

Wide Receivers

Marquise Brown $6,300 on FanDuel. Brown got his first TD of the year last weekend, but he still hasn’t had a 100-yard game and we know his deep play upside as well. He is going to have a slate breaking game eventually and I don’t want to miss it when his red zone work regresses back to the mean. He is 5th in the league in Air Yards so he is due to catch a long bomb for a TD and I like stacking him with Lamar Jackson as well. DraftKings has Brown priced as the 9th highest WR on the slate but FanDuel has him down 10 spots at 19th overall and that seems a bit too cheap for his upside. Sign me up for some Brown exposure and maybe this is his slate breaking game.

Julio Jones on DraftKings $6,700. I have always been a Julio guy and some of my biggest wins have been from low owned Julio weeks. We have to make sure he plays here of course, but if he does, I expect him to go overlooked and everyone is more interested in Ridley now. My favorite Julio weeks are when he goes unowned in good matchups and this is one of the highest game totals on the slate. DraftKings has Julio priced down as the 7th highest WR of the week and FanDuel has him up as the 3rd highest, where I think he belongs. Not only are we getting that coupon on Julio, but DraftKings has him priced at $6,700 which is the cheapest he has been priced since 11/09/14. If Julio plays this week, I won’t be fading him on DraftKings.

Tight Ends

Mike Gesicki on FanDuel $5,600. The Dolphins are a team I am looking to stack this week and there are not many TE’s on the slate that I really want to target. Gesicki had 91 yards last week and we saw his ceiling in week two with 8 receptions on 11 targets for 130 yards and a TD. Aside from Andrews, I don’t know that any other TE on this slate has that kind of ceiling. I like Gesicki as a stack option this week and we have him as the 2nd best Fpts/$ play this week over on FanDuel where he is the 8th highest priced TE on the slate compared to 2nd on DraftKings.

Robert Tonyan on DraftKings $5,100. This is the opposite of Gesicki where Tonyan is priced as the 2nd highest TE on the slate for FanDuel, but DraftKings has him priced down at 7. He is coming off a career game where he had 98 yards and 3 TDs for 33.8 DK points. He also had double-digit points the two weeks before that and is the clear lead TE on this Packers team now. I don’t want to pay up for him on FanDuel this week, but I do have some interest in him over on DraftKings and this is one of the better games to stack on this slate.
