Dover International Speedway

Dover International Raceway is a high banked, one-mile track that can be quite challenging especially for inexperienced drivers. One thing that is rather consistent is how tough the track is on the lower tier teams and their ability to finish the race. A combination of Long run speed, track position, and Drivers who offer consistency will be the key. Elite teams absolutely dominate this track due to challenges the track presents. We will have two Xfinity Series races this week on Saturday and Sunday.

Xfinity Series

For race one we will look to utilize at least two dominators. We have a significant number of laps for a couple of dominators to really separate themselves from the pack. The front runners in this department are going to be Cindric, Briscoe, and Allgaier who combined to lead 167 of the 200 laps last fall. Because we are going to be focusing on these top tier drivers it will be important to focus on good value plays who offer solid place differential. We see a ton of reliability issues here which opens the door for a team who can run the entire race to score a good finish. For race two it will be important to wait and see how things lineup from race one. We will again see the top 15 finishers from race one inverted for race two. We will play race two fairly similar to that of race one as long as we don’t get too many obvious high place differential plays due to accidents or mechanical failures in race two.

Favorite Xfinity Series Play: Justin Allgaier

A lot of attention will be paid to Cindric and Briscoe per usual. I hope this drives Allgaier’s ownership down. He has a win, three 2nd’s and a 3rd in his last 5 races here and has never finished a stage worse than 4th in that stretch. Allgaier is a beast here. This could be a key weekend for him if he hopes to solidify some playoff points.

Truck Series

Definitely looking for at least two dominators for this race. One of the higher lap totals for the truck series means we have a ton of dominator points available this week. Johnny Sauter has won three straight races here and has to be a top contender for the win this week. There are going to be a few drivers who offer some really strong place differential upside due to poor finishes at Daytona. These drivers will be very important this week for rounding out lineups. We do have a high DNF rate here at Dover so there should be a few viable punt plays to open up things salary wise. I will look more towards a stars and scrubs lineup build.

Favorite Truck Series Play: Johnny Sauter

Sauter is simply too good here. He has won the last 3 races at Dover. Sauter simply has this track figured out. He will be starting mid pack due to a poor finish at Daytona and his points position so far in 2020. This means he will offer a few place differential points to go along with his massive dominator upside.
