Kansas Speedway

This week the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway. Finally, we will see a 1.5 mile track in which there are multiple natural grooves and even some tire wear.  Multiple drivers have stated that they believe this track brings out the best in the current rules package. Long run speed is important again which is also fantastic news.  The reason Kansas has been one of my personal favorite tracks is because it actually rewards mechanical grip. Teams who hit on the setup have the ability to benefit. It is also a track where the driver can make a difference. With no practice or qualifying this week, we will again rely on 2020 intermediate track speed to help determine the best plays.

DraftKings

A very standard race for us this week. We should look to utilize 2-3 dominators in our lineups. Pit strategy will have far less of an impact which should help eliminate some of the crazy variance that has been happening in recent weeks. This race is 100 miles less than last time out at Texas so we do have a drop in dominator points available. The last race here showed that high downforce cars performed well, while the cars trimmed out for low downforce struggled overall. I will be putting my focus on the Gibbs and HMS cars as my top dominator threats.

Favorite DK Play: Denny Hamlin

Hamlin is going to be my favorite dominator play this week. I am comparing this race with the one at Homestead earlier this year and I see a few similarities between them. Tire wear and time of day being the two biggest factors. He has been fast nearly everywhere and I think that speed shows up again this week. He is also the last driver to win on this track after leading 153 laps.

FanDuel

On Fanduel we are likely only looking to play 1-2 dominators this week since we are only focusing on laps led. I still like Hamlin for this play on FD but I also am going to look at some of the top tier drivers who can offer a few place diff points and a top 5 finish instead. I will also focus more on the drivers who can score top 12 finishes from mid-pack starting positions. This track gives certain drivers and teams more upside than they would normally have at an intermediate track. Outside of a couple drivers, I will try and avoid ultra value plays and work on trying to get as many mid-tier drivers with top 10 upside as possible. My favorite play of the FD slate will be a good example of this.

Favorite FD Play: Ricky Stenhouse

Ricky is in an incredible spot to deliver for us this week. He has fallen to 25th in owners points which means that in the best case scenario he will start 25th. Or he can start as deep as 36th. In his last 9 races at Kansas he has finished top 20 in 8 of them but more importantly has finished 13th or better FIVE times. If he can match those type of performances then it would put him in prime position for the optimal lineup.

NASCAR on SuperDraft

SuperDraft changed things up last week with the multipliers but we were able to adapt and continue our success. The biggest winner of the day was Permastunt who took home 2nd and a sweet $1,500. For this week we are going to look for one main dominator to play in our lineups and then to round them out with the best overall plays. It will be interesting to see how the multipliers shake out this week once the slate is posted. Our projections and cheat sheets are phenomenal at pinpointing the best plays for each NASCAR slate on SD.
