PITCHERS

This slate is also not great for pitching, much like the other night. However, we have a few more options here than we did last time as it is not as bad as the last slate. Here’s what I have for you:

Warwick Saupold ($9,500/$27)

Saupold hasn’t been his best over the past few starts, but this is just the matchup he needs to get them back on track. Lotte has been the worst offensive team in the league so far statistically this season. Currently they are sporting a team wOBA of .285 and an overall team ISO of .088. They also strikeout at an above-average rate to RHPs so Saupold should be able to get himself back on track in this spot. He is in play for ALL formats, however due to his price on DK I could see you going elsewhere if you want to save salary.

Tae-In Won ($7,100/$26)

Won may actually be the most underrated pitcher in the KBO. Let’s take a look at his recent stats: 22 IPs/ 2 ERs/ 15Ks with a WHIP of under 1.00. For his price on DK you really can’t beat it that type of production. While Kiwoom has been solid offensively, they matchup better against LHPs, which plays into Won’s favor, they also K at the 4th highest rate in the KBO to RHPs. Won is HYBRID type play tonight, as I’d be comfortable playing him in both cash and GPPs, especially as an SP2 on DK even despite Kiwoom being favored here.

Casey Kelly ($8,800/$24)

Kelly has had mixed results in the KBO this season, as he is either dominant or get shelled with not much in-between. In his last start he gave up 8 ERs in 5 IPs, and had allowed only 4 ERs over his last 18 innings and was coming off his best start in which he K’ed 10 in only 6 innings. SK has also been one of the worst offenses in the KBO, with a team wOBA of .306 and overall team ISO of .110, so when they are putting the ball in play they aren’t doing much damage. SK also K’s at a higher rate to RHPs at just above 22%. Kelly is a GPP only play for me tonight due to his volatility, but its hard to trust him for cash even with his upside.

Adrian Sampson ($8,600/$24)

There’s no doubt that Sampson has looked pretty bad so far this year in the KBO. He’s 0-2 with an ERA of over 9 in two starts. However, the matchup doesn’t get any better here, as Hanwha has essentially gutted half of their team and are replacing them with minor-leaguers in order to try and get this team kick-started. You have a former MLB prospect going up against a bunch of KBO minor-leaguers making their KBO debut….I like his chances here and this is just the matchup that he needs to get back on track. He is an GPP format play tonight given that he hasn’t been great in his first few starts.

Hitting STACKS

Here are several of my favorite hitting teams for tomorrow. For the purposes of this article, our hitter focus will revolve around teams to stack. You can also see a detailed look at individual hitters by gandering over to at our KBO Cheat sheets! The cheat sheets have core plays highlighted in blue as well as other cash and tournament options.

Tonight’s Cheatsheets are coming alive!  You have time to jump in, save hours of tedious research, and apply our help for the overnight slate.  You unlock core plays to build around, key pieces to stacks, great 4 and 5 star one-offs, and detailed coaching notes providing the why behind the play.

KIA (vs Hyeong-Jun So) – So got lit up in his first appearance against Kia, getting touched up for 5 ERs over 5 innings and giving up 2 HRs. I really like Preston Tucker here in this spot as well, as he’s been white hot and he’s due for a big game. I like Kia to bounce back after disappointing us last time out.

NCD (vs Je-Yeong Jo) This powerful NC offense against a 19 year old making his KBO debut? Sign me up for that one. They have the highest team wOBA in the KBO at 0.373 and the highest ISO at well at .197. Definitely not an ideal situation for some one to be making their professional debut.

DOO (vs Sung-Young Choi) – Choi wasn’t too sharp in his first start, and now gets to go up against the 2nd best offense in the KBO in the Doosan Bears. Doosan also has a good amount of RHB’s that do well against LHPs. Choi also doesn’t K many batters, so expect Doosan to put a bunch of balls in play here. Really good spot for them to make some noice here.

LG (vs Geon-Wook Lee) – Love this LG team as an underrated stack here tonight, especially since they have that one man wrecking crew that is Roberto Ramos. Anytime he’s in play against a RHP in the KBO he’s likely going to be core for me. Although the rest of this LG team doesn’t have a high overall ISO they can bleed you to death with base hits.

KIW (vs Tae-In Won) – This is going to be my hedge stack of the night, as I do like Won tonight, however, Kiwoom grades out very high in the newly revampled Research Station here tonight. I’ll have a few shares here just in case their power hitters can run into some fastballs here tonight.
